Ryder didn’t remember much of anything from the night before. They’d had drinks in the suite before heading downstairs for a few more before really starting the night and that was where things got hazy. Ryder didn’t drink a lot, last night being the exception to the rule. Ryder wanted to go back to a few seconds ago when the most he had to worry about was making it to the toilet before he got sick. Staying still in bed was the best option but that obviously wasn’t about to happen. He was good with remembering things from the night before, even on those extremely rare occasions when he drank his weight in alcohol. It was usually with his help that they pieced together the confusing pictures stored in everyone’s phones. And now he was a part of those hazy moments without a recollection of anything that had happened after walking through the doors of the night club. “Great.” He said, letting out a deep breath. Neither of them seemed to be forthcoming with the events of the night before, which could only mean Allela was as clueless as he was as to what went on after they’d left the suite.
Ryder looked around while Allela dug through her phone. Grayson wasn’t in sight and Ryder didn’t hear the familiar sounds of someone in the shower. Of course, he didn’t actually have a clue as to what time it was so as far as Ryder knew, his supposed roommate could be anywhere at all. He needed to wake up more, maybe that and a giant cup of coffee would kick-start his head and he might remember something. Looking at the ring on his finger again, he could only blink at the unfamiliar sight and be terribly confused. It had to be all a joke, right? There was no other explanation, it had to be a joke. Absently, Ryder reached up to scratch an itch on his shoulder to realise he was without the sweater he’d been wearing the night before. But Allela was fully clothed so he trusted that at least one thing hadn’t happened between the friends. While Allela continued to search her phone, Ryder went in search of his own, finding it on the table next to him. He didn’t bother checking text messages or voicemail, instead going straight to the picture gallery. If he’d sent any pictures of the night before, there would have been a dozen or more notifications on the main screen, yelling at him to check his messages. And the screen had been empty so he hadn’t sent anything in his drunken haze.
Closing his eyes for a second, Ryder snatched up Allela’s phone and looked at the picture she’d left up on the screen. His jaw fell open and all he could do was blink. That was the pair of them, with their matching rings on display for all to see. Ever curious, Ryder brought up his phone again, he looked at the pictures on his phone, which were much of the same. However, the urge to check his texts was overwhelming so he did just that, cursing under his breath at the sight of the unsent text message to his mother. He wasn’t sure what stopped him from sending it, probably, hopefully Allela but it didn’t matter it hadn’t been sent and he quickly went about deleting the unsent message before it could be an accidentally sent message. “I, uh, I think.” Ryder stopped to swallow and attempt to wet his dry mouth. “I don’t think I can answer that the way you want, Ally-Cat.” He said, fidgeting in the spot he’d been sitting, feeling slightly uncomfortable; which before then he had just chalked up to having fallen asleep in his jeans. But he dug through the back pocket and found the paper which he quickly unfolded, praying it was just a flyer for some Halloween party. “Actually, I know I can’t answer that with the answer you want to hear.” He said, holding the paper out to his best friend; his new wife.

If she could remember just one thing then she might be able to relax a little bit. She doubted it, but she had to try. Screwing her eyes tight shut she tried to push through her mind's fog, but all she kept coming back to was heading downstairs from the suite and then waking up five or so minutes ago. Not even the early photos in her phone jarred any memories or the stamp from the club that was faded, but just about visible at the top of her right hand. The whole night was a blank and the only thing she could be certain of was that she had drunk enough to probably knock out a small man. Even that proof only came in the form of the monstrous hangover she was fighting through to try and get answers about those missing hours. There had to be something; one of them had to be able to remember one tiny detail from leaving the hotel to waking up with rings on their fingers.
She trapped her hands under cold thighs to try and stop their shaking. Plus, it was a way she couldn't see the ring for a few minutes, although she could still feel it pressing into the back of her leg now as she sat there on the bed. Ryder had never let her down in all the time she had known him. He'd be the one to come through for her when she needed it. Those times might have been few, but this was definitely one of them. Allela was relying on him to tell her that it was all some big joke, that they could relax and go back to sleep. His uncertainty was not the reassurance she was looking for and when he spoke again she felt her heart sink deeper. She curled up on the bed, letting out a distressed sigh before resting her head on her knees and praying that this was some horrible dream. Her head shot up again when Ryder's confusion turned to certainty. She closed her eyes, palm against her hot forehead as the room spun again and her stomach threatened to give her something else to worry about. Then she slowly opened her baby blues and looked down at the paper, pulling it from Ryder's hand to read what it said. The words on the paper filled her with terror and she realised that these rings were more than just some pretty prank.
“Grayson. This has got to be fake and this is all just some messed up prank of his.” Allela said, looking at Ryder and hoping she'd see it dawn on him too. Allela was a smart girl though and while Grayson could pull off some elaborate stunts she knew that this was outside of his capabilities. The paper in her hand was legal and binding, the rings on their fingers just more proof of that. She'd gone ahead and married her best friend, just like they always joked about. She dropped the paper back to the bed, and tucked her knees up to her chest as tight as she could. Her eyes were wide and fearful when they met Ryder's and for once Allela's defensive wall of sarcasm and dry wit was gone. She was scared and nervous and feeling more vulnerable than ever before. She needed her best friend, but right now he was the same guy who was making her feel all those things; although she knew they could only both be to blame. “What the hell are we going to do, Ry?”

Rhi woke with an arm thrown across her chest, pinning her where she was; which wasn’t appreciated. “Allela. Move. You’re such a bed hog.” She muttered, trying to roll over and go back to sleep. She’d gone to bed before her roommate even walked through the door but that didn’t matter; she wanted more sleep before she had to face the day! And when Allela’s arm went unmoved, Rhi got annoyed and pushed the arm off her chest; an arm that clearly didn’t belong to Allela, of a girl for that matter. Her eyes wide, Rhi sat bolt upright in her bed, automatically tugging the sheet up to her chest before realising who was passed out next to her. “Grayson!” She hissed, slapping his arm and shaking him trying to wake him up. “What the hell are you doing in here?” She asked once she heard a murmured sound coming from the near comatose body next to her. That was good enough for her to barrel on through. She thought she would be polite and not punch him again but he was being completely useless and it was annoying her. It didn’t help that she wasn’t a fully functioning person until she had at least one cup of coffee in her system and here she was wide awake and without any at all. As soon as she got answers, she was calling down for room service. She didn’t know what everyone else was getting but she was determined to find coffee and strawberry crepes at her door when this was all sorted out.
“Fuck it, I’m going to find out.” She muttered not getting much from her apparent new roommate. She would just figure out what the hell was happening from her actual roommate. She stood where she was on the bed and walked to the end, jumping to the floor and pushing the doors open. She had quite the shock to the system, now she wanted answers for the questions piling up. She stormed across the open living room space, tossing open the doors, not caring what situation the other two were in. But the shocked look on their faces had Rhi stopping dead in her tracks. “Jesus! Who died?” She asked, with her hands still on the handles to the doors. Shaking her head, the reason she was across the room and not in her nice cosy bed invaded her thoughts and she crossed her arms over her chest. “I have a bone to pick.” She declared, narrowing her eyes in the best possible glare she could hold without coffee. Actually, it was a miracle Rhi made it as far as she had without coffee!

The whole world could be burning and Allela wouldn't care right now. All she could focus on was the ring on her finger, the paper, Ryder, the ring on his finger. As much as she wanted the doors to burst open and for someone to shout “Got you!” she knew it wasn't going to happen. Her memories were gone from the night before, but it seemed that one thing had taken place that they couldn't so easily forget about now. She was usually the quick one when it came to thinking of ways out of things, but this one had her stumped. No matter how she tried to look at their situation all she could hear going around and around in her head was the same few words; “I'm his wife. He's my husband.” Her head was spinning more and her struggle for words just left her staring and blinking at Ryder. “You're my husband.” They were the only words to fall from her lips in a stunned whisper, even though she longed to say something else, anything else!
The doors bursting open did little to startle her either. Rhi's voice sounded muffled and far away at first. Allela slowly turned to look at her friend, raising her right hand to shield the bright light from her still delicate eyes. The hangover was not making any of this easier. The pink haired Scot didn't know what Rhi wanted right now, but it was right at the bottom of the list of Allela's current concerns. She doubted that whatever had caused the artist to come storming in the room was on the same level as her own imminent breakdown. The combination of hangover and shock were keeping her relatively subdued right now, but it wouldn't be like that for much longer. “Get in line.” Allela said, still barely looking at or hearing Rhi. It was just the tone that gave away Rhi's emotions at that moment. How did anyone go about explaining this? Even for the girl who was as blunt as they came this was a struggle. Biting her lip, Allela managed to snag some of the skin with her teeth, tasting the blood on the tip of her tongue as she tried to string words together. In the end, no matter what angle she approached it from there was only one way to say it. “Me and Ryder got married last night.” Someone had to say it. There was no way of changing it or pretending it didn't happen. Allela dropped her head back to her hands and curled up on the bed she was never supposed to wake up in.

Ryder was in a stunned mood. He just couldn’t get over the fact that he could barely remember the night! And then he woke up married! It seemed like such an unusual prank to play on people who were as completely drunk as he was; as they both were. His head was pounding, it felt like it was literally splitting in two and all he wanted in his roiling stomach was a cup of strong coffee and a couple ibuprofens. “So it would seem.” He said, the words slipping past his lips of their own accord. That was absolutely not what he wanted to say, he wanted to look for the cameras because this had to be some massive prank for a show or something! Ryder didn’t know what he wanted to say, but he knew just saying what he did wasn’t enough. “I... Allela.” He said, trying again and failing miserably.
He didn’t know how to make this right. He didn’t know how to fix this. “We’re... married. You’re my wife.” He said, because saying what were now facts were making his head hurt a little less. It was still pounding but since there wasn’t much else he could wrap his mind around. Allela was close to hysterics next to him and he was sitting there completely blank, repeating “We’re married” over and over again in his head. Rhi bursting through the door did little to put Ryder in the room. His mind wasn’t there in that room with the girls; it was nowhere near that room, scouring through what little he remembered of the nights in hopes of something coming to. “Surprise!” He said blandly, finally letting his eyes settle on the birthday girl.
“I... need a minute.” He said after a second, crawling out from under the duvet and stumbling to the bathroom. He turned the taps on, splashing the cold water on his face to wake up. It had to be a dream still; all of it. Shaking his head, because he was still standing there in the bathroom and not waking up in a bed after a night of good fun meant it was all real; he was married to Allela. “Sorry. Uh, what were you saying?” Ryder asked the one who burst into the room. His stomach was still roiling about but it wasn’t his main concern at the moment and easily forgotten until he was about to retch.

By the time Grayson had made it back to the suite with Rhi he was ready to call it a night. Ryder's bed was still made up and there was no sign of the missing drunks, but he knew they'd find their way back eventually. If not there would be voicemails in the morning saying that they were lost and asleep somewhere else. His costume wound up scattered over the floor and Grayson practically flopped on his bed and was asleep the moment his head hit the pillow. There was no alarm set for the morning and he had every intention of sleeping right through until his own body clock told him it was time to wake up. If they were to repeat the night all over again tomorrow then he would need the rest now. Grayson just hoped his head wasn't in too many pieces when the sun rose above Atlantic City.
He was lost in dreams when he felt someone shaking him awake, muffled voices gradually getting louder until he rolled over to see who the hell was waking him up and what the crisis was. Half asleep, Grayson only picked up bits of what was being said to him. All he knew was that when the bedroom door slammed shut in his face it had been Allela and Ryder who had tossed him out of the room. Their laughter hurt his head and her words of how they needed their privacy now they were together forever made no sense to him at all. Squinting at the clock in the main lounge of the suite, Grayson cursed when he saw the time. There was no way he was ready to be awake when he had fallen into bed just two hours earlier! He stumbled sleepily across to the girls' bedroom and let himself in. His eyes were already closed when he dropped onto the closest bed.
The second time he woke up it was because someone was yet again shaking him awake. Mumbling at them to go away and incoherently placing the blame on Allela and Ryder, he shoved his head under the pillow to block out all the light. The distant voice this time sounded like Rhiannon's and the movement on the bed unsettled his stomach. He didn't feel like he was going to be sick if he moved, but he did feel like he needed a massive breakfast to feel human again. Breakfast, and some more sleep, that is. With the bed still once more and no voices or hands hitting him, Grayson sighed contently and allowed himself to drift back off. He had been dreaming about sandy beaches, tiki bars and supermodels before he had been disturbed.

All Rhi wanted was a little peace, a little quiet and a whole lot of sleep. She didn’t think that was too much to ask for and yet there she was yelling at Grayson for being in her bed, and instead of being a grown ass woman and just rolling over and going back to sleep for a couple more hours, she wanted answers. She wasn’t a child anymore but at the same time she hadn’t been expecting Grayson to be the one falling into her bed! If anything, she expected a completely drunken Scottish girl star fishing next to her when she woke up in the morning. But by now, she was already wide awake and just wanting to know why he was in her room and not his own!
Rhiannon expected one of them to tell her they hadn’t been ready to finish the party when they’d found themselves back in the suite and that was why Grayson found himself in her bed. She did not expect them to say they were married! In fact, it had seemed so ridiculous; she burst out laughing at the mere thought of the pair of them actually hitched. But when Allela didn’t correct her and Ryder ran off looking like he might be a little ill, she stopped laughing. “You’re serious?! While I’m dancing the night away, you’re off getting hitched?! Way to steal my thunder!” Rhi said, pouting but not actually meaning anything by it. Thinking about it though, she wanted to laugh. After all the time spent talking about them with Grayson, it was pretty hilarious. And something she needed to tell Grayson; immediately.
Rhi’s hands flew to cover her mouth so she wouldn’t let the squeals out. Oddly, or not so oddly considering it was Rhi, she was excited for them. Excitedly, Rhi hopped from one foot to the other, clapping her hands like an incessant seal. “Can I tell Grayson? I need to tell Grayson. Happy birthday to me!” She said, her laughter almost hysterical at the giddiness from the whole situation. Instantly she turned on her heel and ran across the lounge to her room, where she’d left the doors open and jumped for the bed. “Gray! Grayson wake up!” She called, shaking his arm relentlessly. When he didn’t yell at her, she figured he wasn’t awake and stood up on the bed, getting her balance before she started jumping. “Grayson!” she yelled. “Alley-Cat and Ryder got married last night!” She yelled, waiting for a reaction from her new roommate.

Allela felt terrible. It wasn't just the hangover either. Marriage was something they joked about and not something they had actually considered together. They were best friends, but their feelings were nothing more than platonic, right? Allela had always thought that even while completely intoxicated her mind might still cling to a tiny bit of common sense, but that theory was tossed right out of the window last night. There were no words to make sense of what had happened, no apologies to cover this and in all of her crazy adventures nothing had happened that was quite so life changing. Marriage was supposed to be for life and at twenty years of age she had apparently decided to commit forever to Ryder. “Ry...I...I'm sorry.” She didn't know what exactly she was apologising for but she also didn't know what else she could say under the circumstances and in their respective states of shock.
Ryder running to the bathroom did nothing to help how she felt either. If this hangover wasn't threatening to make her hurl Allela might have already been on a bus out of Atlantic City and putting as much distance between herself and this mess. Deep down she knew she couldn't abandon Ryder though. This whole situation might have been one of the most terrifying she had found herself in, but he was still her best friend and she wouldn't leave him to deal with it alone. However, what Allela couldn't understand was why Rhi was getting such a kick out of it! Surely it was obvious that this was serious and on opposite end of the spectrum from funny. “Rhi, this isn't funny an' this isn't the time for...this.” Allela was still stuck trying to wrap her head around everything and words weren't coming to her when she needed them.
When Rhi ran from the room Allela tried to follow and grab her giddy friend before she could shout the news all over the hotel. She moved too quickly though and her stomach rocked as she reached the open doors. Turning, Allela darted into the bathroom, pushing past Ryder, and practically fell over the toilet as last night repeated on her. She stayed on the floor, back against the cool wall and eyes closed as she waited for her stomach to settle again. When she opened her blue eyes the light from the window caught the ring and drew her attention back to it. She wore rings all the time, but this one felt unnatural to her. Tearing her eyes away from it she looked up at Ryder. “All o' New York will know by lunchtime.” It would be impossible to keep Rhiannon from telling the news to their friends back home. She could hear her trying to wake Gray across the suite and that was only the beginning. “How do we even begin to explain this?” She looked up at Ryder for answers, but knew that he was just as lost and shocked about this as she was. “I don't think I can deal with all of this.” Allela admitted quietly, pushing her hair back.

Ryder didn’t know what to say. He could apologise until he was blue in the face but it wouldn’t do much. They had been joking about marrying each other for as long as Ryder could remember. But he’d never thought they were serious enough jokes to warrant them actually running down the aisle! He didn’t remember anything more than where they’d been planning on going at the beginning of the night and getting there. And after that there must have been that much alcohol poured down his throat that he couldn’t remember anything at all! Ryder hoped after this hangover subsided his memories might start coming back to him. But he wasn’t going to hold his breath, either. “Don’t apologise. It’s not your fault.” He said, running his fingers through his hair, messing up what little there was of it.
He needed a minute to himself to try and gather his thoughts on the whole situation. The water he splashed on his face wasn’t doing any good in helping him wake up or see things any better than before. He was already awake so this couldn’t all be a wild and crazy dream. It was real. It was all really happening. And Rhiannon sounded giddy, even over the water. He could only shake his head at the brunette when she turned and ran. She was hyperactive and always giddy for an adventure but he didn’t see why she was finding this all so damn funny. He would never understand women; ever. They were just too complicated for him to even start trying to figure out.
Ryder moved out of the way in time for Allela to rush past, falling to the floor by the toilet. Without thinking about it, Ryder grabbed a glass and started running the cold water until it was like ice. “She’s hyper not stupid, Ally-Cat.” He said, filling a glass with water before crouching down next to Allela. He didn’t have much faith in anything at the moment but he did have a bit of faith in their friend not blurting out the news to everyone she made eye contact with. She was hyper an energetic when she wasn’t sitting behind that drawing desk of hers, making friends as easily as children on a playground. “We’ll figure it out, Ally-Cat.” He said, scrubbing his hand over his face; as if that would bring the answers they needed. “When you’re feeling better. Want help back to bed?” He asked, holding his hand out.

Sleep. That was all Grayson wanted. It was the weekend and he was entitled to sleep. He didn't want friends chucking him out of one bed and forcing him into another and he didn't want a hyperactive birthday girl jumping all over him so early in the day. He wanted to go back to his land of dreams and stay there for just a few more hours. It looked like that wasn't going to happen though. No sooner had he returned to that exotic beach that he felt the bed shaking again and Rhi's voice crashed through the images his mind had conjured up. Frowning, keeping his eyes closed, Grayson swatted back at her in an attempt to make the small brunette stop. When her words finally broke through and his mind could process them into something understandable, Gray opened his eyes and rolled over onto his back to look up at her. “What? They got married? Rhi...this is too early for pranks.” He said with a groan, all intent to flop back onto the pillow and close his eyes again.
Before that happened though, his own sleepy memories came back to him. When they had tossed him out of the other bedroom he did remember something about them being together forever. They were both laughing and speaking with so many slurred words he hadn't tried to pay attention, but a few things he could remember. Allela and Ryder had chucked him out of the room and word forever did seem to be repeated through those hazy memories. Grayson had assumed they were just feeling drunk and wanting to party some more but now his mind went to other places. “They are both dressed, right?” Part of him felt awkward if Rhi had burst in on a scene that involved scattered clothing, but at the same time a part of him wanted to laugh at that. “At least last night makes a bit of sense...I guess.” He mumbled, more to himself, but he figured it wasn't like he was keeping secrets of any kind. Even if Rhiannon hadn't burst in to demand answers he would have been asking questions about his first rude awakening.
Moving from the bed to the other side of the suite, Grayson looked for the pair and spied them in the bathroom. It was impossible not to grin at the state of them both. Their hangovers had to feel like hell on earth, without a doubt. “Fun night, you two?” He asked dryly. He couldn't help but to indulge for just a moment, even though he figured there would be some serious talking taking place sooner or later. “I'll put an order in for breakfast. And coffee. It looks like we need it up here.” Gray offered, moving to call room service, snatching a menu up before ordering what could only be described as a mini-buffet for breakfast and as much coffee as they would bring to the suite. Once that was done he looked back at the newlyweds. It was rare for Grayson to take on the role of the logical one, but with Rhi's excitement and the shocked, ill looking state of the new Mr and Mrs Wilcox, he figured that someone had to step up. “So...are we looking at an annulment to come just as quickly as the wedding did?” He asked, leaning in the doorway to the bedroom and just letting his eyes move between his friends.

Rhiannon could remember the events of the night before. At least, the ones that she was involved in, she remembered. But with all the dancing and carrying on, she pretty much left the alcohol on the dance floor. If she’d overheard anything that was usual for the pair, she would have followed just to see how far things would have gone before someone stepped in. Maybe her excitement over it was too much, but then again, with her usual hyperactive demeanour, it was never a good time for it unless drinking was involved. It didn’t help she went from dead on her feet, wanting another few hours of sleep to wide awake, hyper and excited, bouncing around to news that to everyone else didn’t seem like good news. It might have just been her who saw the bright side to everything but they were always joking about it and now they’ve gone and made it all official. Somewhere deep down, someone had to see the humour in that! If couldn’t have just been her.
Jumping on the bed seemed like the only way to annoy Grayson enough to move. Unfortunately, she didn’t expect him to twist to look up at her and as she jumped, she landed slightly on his leg and fell on top of him. “Oof!” She said landing across him. Muttering annoyance, she pushed herself off his chest to kneel beside him. “Not a prank. I’m serious. Married.” She said, poking him in the chest for emphasis. Rolling her eyes at him, Rhi slapped his chest. “I would have been back here a hell of a lot sooner than I was.” She said, narrowing her eyes at him. He probably would have heard the “eep!” from the other room and might have even rolled over at the noise! But she didn’t put much faith in that! It took her jumping on the bed to get him to wake up long enough to hear what she was saying! “What? What are you talking about?” She asked, confused. A second later her eyes went wide and she sat back on her heels. “Did they kick you out last night when they got back?”
Rhi followed Grayson from the bed, just stopping herself from jumping on his back and getting piggy back ride across the suite. She was her usual bubbly self without the coffee and it really wasn’t doing anyone any good. She could only imagine what she would be like right now if she had gotten around to calling down for coffee first. “Don’t be an ass.” She said, backhanding his arm. They didn’t need his attitude on top of hers. And they’d already gotten their fill of the one. “I want hash-browns and extra bacon.” She called out as he picked up the phone. Not that he actually needed help ordering but she thought she would make sure there was something there she wanted that didn’t have her making another call down to the kitchen. And while he did that, she bounced into the room to take a seat on the edge of the bed, pulling her feet up in front of her and wrapping her arms around them. At Grayson’s idle comment, Rhi’s jaw just dropped; stunned. “Grayson!” She said, shocked.

With no memories between them to piece this story together, Allela could only groan at their predicament. Nothing could change this or what had happened the night before and Allela was just thankful that they hadn't started screaming at each other or placing blame. Those things wouldn't get them very far either and for a moment she was kind of glad that it was Ryder she had woken up to like this. At least with him she knew the fights were few and far and that he could usually keep a level head when she was losing hers. He was in shock, she wasn't stupid enough to think otherwise, but he seemed less on the edge than she did and it was working to slightly calm her own rising panic. “Yeah, well, it's not very often that I don't know what else to say.” A harsh laugh accompanied her poor joke and she looked across at him with a small hint of apology still in her expression.
The bathroom floor seemed like a good place to be. It was cooler down there and things didn't spin so fast when she was slumped against the tiles. If she thought she could get away with it she might have locked herself in there for the day. “She's going to want to tell other people though. It won't just be Grayson. What about Eli? Or her brother? He's bound to call to wish her a happy birthday and see how things are.” She pointed out, already dreading their return to the city. Rhi may not tell everyone about this news, but it would have to come out eventually. Hearing Ryder's slight reassurance had Allela letting out a sigh. He may not have believed those words, but they were just what she needed to hear right now. It also just went to show that he was still that same old Ryder when all was said and done. “Yeah. And I want out of this stupid costume.” She took his hand and slowly moved back to her feet. How she had fallen asleep with the complete outfit on was beyond her, but now she wanted it all gone and just some comfy clothes that she could curl up in.
With Grayson now involved and adding to the nightmare of the morning, Allela really did feel like she was closing in on her limit. She gave him the finger on the way back to bed and then crawled under the sheets to sit up against the headboard. Breakfast sounded like both a good and a bad idea, but she knew from experience that she'd eat her body weight in food once she scent caught her nose. With Grayson she expected more jokes and torments, but his question had stunned looked all around, with Allela just blinking at him. Logically, it was a sound idea. They had been too drunk to realise what they were doing. However, Allela's family were very serious in how they had raised their children to respect the sanctity of marriage, and her school had been far worse for trying to drum it into their minds. She may never have considered her own happily ever after all that much, but she knew she had always expected to follow the route of “one and done”. An annulment would free them of this whole mess, but it would eventually come out to others and if her family found out then they would be horrified. Looking at Ryder with wide blue eyes, she shook her head slightly. “I...I can't.” She whispered so quietly that she hoped only he heard and understood.

Ryder was shocked sure, but it wasn’t as terrifying an idea as it first had when he opened his eyes and saw those matching rings. He’d been freaking out on the inside, in a dazed and confused sort of way. But he knew Allela better than anyone else in New York. While she was close to hysterics, he needed to be calm, cool and collected. He needed to be level headed and think it all through. Of the pair of them, Allela was the hot headed one while he was supposed to be calm. He was probably anything but at the moment but he still needed to act like he was okay. “It’s refreshing.” He joked back, lightly patting Allela’s shoulder. It was a little awkward but he did it anyway because he knew he needed to keep Allela calm.
There was so much that they had to talk about and Rhi bouncing around the way she was definitely was not helping in the least. He loved the fiery teenager like she was his little sister; including wanting to throttle her sometimes. It was a shame he could still feel his head pounding and his eyes wanted to cross but there was nothing he could do about that right this second. He needed to push through it all to get Allela feeling better. “Ally-Cat, give her a little credit, would you?” He asked, tilting his head to the side. “She may not always act like it but she knows when to be serious.” He hoped. He was waking up now and though coffee would go a long way to getting him there faster, he was getting there. Rhiannon would tell Grayson, but he didn’t think this news would go further than the hotel suite and the people in it. And if it did, they would deal with it. He couldn’t really blame Rhiannon. It was big news, news most people wanted to share with everyone they came into contact with, shout it from the rooftops.
“Come on then. I’ll get the crazy one across the suite to get you some clothes.” He said, getting to his feet and helping Allela along with him back over to the bed, sitting on the edge of the bed next to her in case she needed something. Friend or wife, he would take care of her first before he worried about himself. Ryder had to admit, he had expected Grayson to crack a few jokes and make things a little more awkward with some innuendos of some sort. At least he did one thing; make things more awkward, even with the offer to order breakfast. Ryder thought he’d been stunned the first time around but Grayson’s words had him completely, truly stunned. He hadn’t thought about annulment at all. His parent’s weren’t opposed to divorce or annulment but they weren’t exactly for it either. If anything, they were all for making things work, trying them out for size. And he had the same mentality. Neither of them was expecting this or particularly wanting this but Ryder was willing to try to make this work. Ryder nodded his head once, looking at Allela so she knew he heard her. “Rhi can you get Allela some clothes.” He said when he could talk again. “We’ll talk about it when the pounding in our heads gives up.”

With the way this morning was turning out Grayson was glad his head was pretty clear and that he had been spared a hangover. Maybe a night of dancing had been worth while in more ways than one. Rhiannon was running around the suite like it was Christmas morning, the other two were looking like they had gone through every circle and hell and back since last night and now there was this bombshell being dropped on him. Even he was waiting for the camera men to appear and tell them this was all some crazy joke. However, with what he could remember about Allela's and Ryder's return to the suite he knew that everything was totally true. He just couldn't believe they had gone so far the night before! He expected many things from drunken friends but never an actual marriage. He looked at Rhi with a 'duh' expression on his face. “Yeah. They came in, woke me up and told me I couldn't be in the room because they needed their privacy now they were together forever.” He paused, licking his dry lips and pushing his knotty hair back from his face. “That's why I'm in here! I was too tired to argue with them.” He yawned into the back of his hand and shook his head to try and wake up properly.
In the other room, after he'd received his first slap of the day while he was awake, Gray looked at Rhi with raised eyebrows. “Coming from the girl who just shouted their news all over the suite?” He asked, as though they had other friends stashed under the beds or something. With breakfast on the way his stomach growled at the prospect of food. The moment that door was knocked on he'd be out there in a shot, regardless of the fact that he was only wearing his boxers. However, before that he seemed to have to deal with an awful lot of shock. “What? They were drunk out of their skulls!” He protested when Rhi shouted out his name. Ultimately it was up to Allela and Ryder what happened next, but Grayson just assumed that an annulment was the next logical step. They were both only twenty years old, they weren't in love with each other and it had clearly been a drunken error given their reactions this morning. He didn't see the harm in it and an annulment was far less messy than a divorce. He ignored the face that he himself was a total commitment-phobe.
“So...do you guys remember anything from last night? Like, say, kicking me out of the room at close to 5am?” He asked, trying to wrap his head around how two people could get drunk, get married and come back with no recollection of any of it. “I'm just curious.” He added with a shrug. He still couldn't believe that it had actually happened and he really wanted to know what would come next, but it looked like neither Allela or Ryder were in the mood to talk about it, especially not with an audience in the room. The room service arrived within a few minutes of that and Grayson moved to grab it and tip the man pushing the loaded trolley while Rhi went to fetch Lightning her regular clothes. Wheeling the food back into the room where they were all gathered, he set about piling up his plate and pouring the coffee, handing two big mugs to the hungover newlyweds. “I think you'll appreciate this more than champagne, right?

It was shocking and a little surreal, sure but it was also amusing, she had to admit. It wasn’t every weekend away that someone got drunkenly married. Rhi was finding it far more amusing than she probably should but it was her birthday and she was feeling a tad bit upstaged, even if it was all accidental. But Rhi didn’t usually let things get her down; she was a pretty positive person and tried to see the best in every situation. No one else seemed to get just how funny it was that for all their joking and teasing and swearing they didn’t care for each other that way, they turned around, had one too many and found themselves with their names signed to a marriage certificate and matching rings on their fingers. “Don’t give me that look. I’m without coffee.” She said rolling her eyes as if her excuse was acceptable and the only thing that made sense. She easily admitted that she wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box but she was certainly brighter with caffeine running through her veins.
“I did not yell it all over the suite. I yelled it in my own room, thank you. And the suite is not the rooftop; I do have some sense of decorum even if I don’t show that side often.” She said with another eye roll she was considering making it her signature whenever Grayson was around. Rhi didn’t actually plan on telling anyone else about Allela’s and Ryder’s news. It wasn’t her place. It hadn’t been her place to tell Grayson either and she knew that but the entire moment and the conversation the night before had gotten the better of her and she had to tell him or she would explode; so she did. But the rest of the world could find out from the happy couple themselves. Rhi shook her head at Grayson. She may have wanted to know the answer herself but she wasn’t about to blurt it out either! They obviously cared about each other. If there wasn’t any love between them, their little joke wouldn’t have gotten so out of hand but Rhi knew better than to say that as well. Rhi quite enjoyed being alive, her death would prevent her from being that!
Rhiannon was also curious about what they remembered from the night before. It was obvious they didn’t remember much or the shocked looks on their faces wouldn’t be half so bad. She kept her mouth shut but her eyes glued to her married friends to wait for an answer because she was just as curious about that and why their room. Not that she was complaining that she wasn’t the one woken up at that unnatural hour. Like Grayson, she was curious. “Righteo!” She said, hopping from her spot on the very edge of the bed to go dig through Allela’s belongings for some lounge clothes. “Where’s mine?” She asked, skipping back into the room with a change of clothes for Allela. “Come on.” She said, nodding her head towards the bathroom. She waited while Ryder, who could easily take the weight of Allela leaning on him better than Rhi could herself, helped Allela to the bathroom. “If you need me I’ll be right outside the door.” She said, setting the clothes on the bathroom counter so at least the newlywed could have a few moments of privacy.
