Tossing and turning in the early hours of the morning. Katrina could not sleep. Tired, frustrated but unable to sleep the dancer hopped out of bed. Not caring to change out of her black sweatpants and gray hoodie or even to grab her coat. she just slipped on her tennis shoes and went for a run. Running helped Kat calm down just as much as dancing does.
So grabbing her I-pod an headphones she headed outside. The sky was still dark and gloomy with everyone still asleep. Good. Kat didn't feel like seeing people. Pulling her messy blonde hair into a pony tail she began her run from her apartment to wherever her feet may take her. She didn't know how long she had been running, she had long past accepted her tired legs and lungs that hurt from sucking icy air in. She didn't care, she just needed to run; run the stress and frustration away.
Finally having enough the blonde stopped and bent over. Gasping for breath. Her abused legs shoving out on her and making her sink to the ground as she leant against a stone fountain for support. Resting her head against the cold solid surface and waited to calm down before turning to see where she ended up. The garden, that was at least 45 minutes away from her apartment by walking! Had she been running that long? Shrugging the young woman rested her back against the fountain she leant against she rested her head on her knees as she tried to relax.
Unaware that she may very well not be alone this morning.

Valor quietly sat on the ground next to a bench, under a street lamp, his pupils constricted and small as he dug vigorously into his wrist. c'mon, c'mon..... He whispered as he dug into the side of his wrist. He scratched and scratched but he couldn't get under the skin. He pulled a switchblade from his pocket, digging into his wrist with it until finally a glimmer reflected in his eyes. YES! he hissed in pure whisper as he grabbed the glimmering object and pulled it out with a sigh of relief. In front of him, lay a broken syringe and now as blood pooled onto his torn pants and through the holes onto his leg. He grimaced as he wrapped his cut up wrist in an old shirt, and tried his hardest to wipe blood from the palm and in between the fingers of his right hand.
s'okay, sss'okay the things gone. but yous stupids, yous broke your needle. he groaned quietly to himself. He often would talk to himself, some days it was to the voices that echoed in his head. He ducked as a late night jogger ran by. Maybe she didn't see him, she wouldn't see the blood, right? There was no reason for panic, right? Valor shook from the cold and pulled his hoodie around him tighter. He wasn't prepared for winter setting on so quickly, he didn't have time to collect enough layers. He wore two thin hoodies and a thicker one underneath. He wore a torn, distressed pair of blue jeans and converse hi-tops that were just as distressed and mildly tattered.
The bleeding would quit and his body would regenerate heat but for now he was just trying to not gather attention. nows you gotta gets a new needles. sstupid boy.

Katrina's breath was almost back to normal so she decided to take a normal walk instead of sitting in the freezing weather. She herd it wasnt healthy to sit down like that specially in cold weather after taking a long run and had your blood pressure high because of the run. Whether it was true or not she don't know but Kat wasn't taking any chances.
Rising she stretched and sighed when her spine gave a few satisfying snaps. Her blue eyes glanced around the deserted area until her eyes landed briefly on a young man sitting on a bench. At first she didn't think of it but she did a double take. Why would someone be out this early in the morning in this sort of weather? Course she was here but she had a reason. Maybe the man did too?
She cautiously made her way over and stood a few feet from him. "Eh, hi there?" She offered tentatively . "What are you doing out here? It's pretty cold you know." She offered a small smile.
(OOC: did Valor and Kat meet properly in the thread with Boston or no?)

Shaking his head as she approached him. dont....don't see me, please don't see me please... He bit his lip and maneuvered, or tried to, out of the light. It was too late, she'd seen him. Valor shook his head when she offered help. ..uhm, no...no hi...no. Valor rocked I'm waiting. I'm waiting. He told her quietly. His brain wasn't all there, his mind drifting as he spoke. His eyes fluttered shut for a minute and quickly opened wide again. It's not that cold. He lied as he wrapped his two thin sweatshirts tighter around his body.
Okay, so he was freezing but as she inched closer his mind started to race. Sstop, don't. don't come close. He shook his head and held his good hand up to motion stop. He kept the bleeding one close to his chest. Pl-please d-don't touch me. He begged. He scratched his head frantically. Please i'm sick. i'm sick an'd if you touch me... He scratched his arms you could be sick too. The blood dripping from his hand was rabid with hepatitis c and opiates as well as probably several unidentified diseases and infections.
It's cold now Valor admitted, the cut on the side of his wrist was a lot deeper than he had intended and it was bleeding pretty bad. He could stitch it up himself but he needed a needle and thread. He took the broken piece of syringe and pulled a thread from his pants. I gotta fix it, gotta. Valor tied the thread to the dull end of the needle and started to make an effort to stitch himself up, his hands trembling.

She frowned worriedly. This guy wasnt alright no matter how many times he said so! She learned her throat. "I know your not alright there. You're shaking and..." She shook her head. Her eyes watched him carefully until she noticed the blood just as be was trying or attempting to sew his cut on his wrist.
Her eyes widened and she was over infront of him in a split second. Her hand snatching a hold on his good wrist that held the needle. "Hey hey hey hold on there." She exclaimed softly. Surprised at her own steadiness. She didn't really like blood but she has seen it many times before and living on the streets herself taught her a thing or two in survival.
"Calm down alright I want to help. You can't do this if you're hands are trembling. She stated softly. Trying to meet his gaze. She needed him to trust her or else he would either A bleed out or B try and sew his cut and injure himself even worse with his trembling.
"Can you allow me to help you hun?" She asked. Begging him silently to let her.
