FEARS: -Losing a patient
- His profession getting to him
-rodents
SECRETS: He is petrified that something will happen to his mother and he won't be able to help her. He doesn't remember his father, but he already knows that he doesn't want to lose both parents.
PERSONALITY: Compassionate- Denver has so much compassion. But it's mostly for kids. He wants to see them happy and healthy. He wants them to grow up knowing they're cared for. He's well fit for his profession as a Doctor for children. Adults, not so much, he's got no compassion for those who sit there and smoke a pack a day and don't take the responsibility for developing cancer of asthema, or whatever.
Active- Denver is a very active person. He loves being outdoors, and doing whatever he can. He's an avid Baseball fan. He plays baseball, lacrosse and when he can get the chance, he gets out on a board and surfs. Of course, that doesn't happen as much as he'd like, so he tends to settle for skateboarding. And what Canadian would he be if he didn't play Hockey as a kid?
Brave- Denver is a brave soul. When he'd really found out how his father had died, what he'd been doing when he'd hurt himself, Denver had to get out there and see what all the fuss was about with snowboarding. It scared his mother to death, but she let him try it out, and he loved it. He wouldn't let the fear of striking out keep him from playing the game, or so the quote goes.
Stable- Growing up, his live wasn't all that stable. His father had passed away and his mother worked two jobs, even though she remarried three years after, all over the city. The only real constants he had was school, baseball, his home and how determined he was that he was going to get out of there and make something. He could have gone far in MLB, but chose another path even before Baseball became a love.
Determined- Denver didn't have the best of childhood's. His mother was basically absent- for a good cause, but still absent, so he is very determined to have the stability he didn't have growing up. He's determined to be that guy that everyone can depend on. When he wants something, he doesn't stop until he's got it. That willpower is what drove him in school, what's still driving him to become a doctor; a pediatrician.
Quiet- Denver doesn't usually say much. His mother may have been busy working a couple jobs, but she had taught him manners. And one such lesson stuck out over all others; if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. A rule he tends to forget when he's had a couple beers.
Quick- Denver's quick. He's got a quick wit that he lets loose more when he's been drinking, so he doesn't drink often. But he's also quick on his feet; the reason why he'd managed to snag himself a sports scholarship to NYU for Baseball. He's a big fan, and probably would have continued on to the MLB. But he wanted to help kids more. And, although he could have done that better as a Yankee or a Mets player, he figured a Doctor was the next best thing.
Dreamer- Den is a major dreamer. He wants to save the world someday, all while wearing a white coat, not a cape of red. He has two lists; things he wants, and things he needs. The second list will get finished before he's thirty, end of story. The first will get done soon enough as well. Those are the frivillous things a man with money wants most; toys.!

HISTORY: Denver had been a pretty good, happy baby. He slept through the night; he'd had no health issues. The first few years of his life, he doesn't remember but he'd lived with both of his parents in a beautiful home the young couple had purchased before their baby boy was born. When he was three, his father died suddenly of a brain aneurysm; he'd gotten a concussion after a fall on the ski hill outside of Corner Brook. The Paramedics had said he was fine, but they were going to take him to the hospital for observations, and check out his arm, because they thought he might have broken it. He'd been with friends, hanging out, having fun. His best friend called Denver's mother, Megan. She got Denver ready and raced to the hospital. The pair was brought to a secluded room where Sam's best friend was sitting, looking scared. They waited together, the three of them, on news of Sam. They'd waited nearly fifteen minute before the doctor came in. He informed them that he'd suffered a brain aneurysm.
Throughout the following years, Tony, Sam's best friend, stayed close to Megan and her son. A few years later, Denver was five, they were married, and when he was six, his mother and step father had a baby. A girl, Samantha. Denver tried to be the big brother figure, helping out and making sure his baby sister was alright. He played with her, helped out however he could, but he knew even with both parents working, his mother two jobs, his stepfather one, it was a bit much. Tony was hardly around, having to travel for work, so it was still basically just him and his mom, with an extra mouth to feed in his baby sister. Somehow, even with all the stability, his life was far from stable. Even he wasn't sure how the family had managed that one. But Denver threw himself into his school work and his part time job at a sports retailer in the mall when he was old enough to get a job.
He was about 12 when he decided he wanted to be a doctor, a kid’s doctor. He'd decided almost instantly. As if he'd woken up one morning and decided that's what he'd do. He was the not so typical nerd. He wore glasses, but refused to wear them outside his house, and he was smart, quick with numbers and science came easy to him. Medicine seemed like the perfect option. In his sophomore year of High school, he and a couple of his buddies joined the baseball team, thinking it'd be a great way of getting the ladies. They were right, and Denver went from being the nerdy kid in science class, to Mr. Pitcher. A scout showed up at one of the games in his senior year, after hearing about a great player. The following year, Denver had a full ride to NYU to study whatever he wanted, so long as he played for the school's team while he was there. And that was no skin of his nose, he loved the game.
Of course, it was difficult leaving his mother and sister, but the two along with his stepfather somehow managed to make it work. And Denver was off to college, something that had only really ever been a dream unless he went to community college or somehow managed to find a grant or bursary that was willing to pay for him. Plus, NYU had a wonderful medical program, so it was really win-win. It was rough, working towards his goal of becoming a doctor, playing baseball games for the school and keeping up with the club he bartended for on weekends. Denver worked through it all, and graduated from NYU at the top of his class. He's currently an Intern at the Hospital, working towards his specialty, pediatrics. He's currently in the middle of his residency rotation. He speaks to his mother constantly, a couple times a week, and he's always in constant contact with his sister via text message. He can't wait for summers when his baby sister visits him in the big apple. And he's trying to live life to the fullest.
