BRONTE ELLERY O'CONNOR
FULL NAME: Bronte Ellery O'Connor.
NICKNAMES: None she'll like to hear.
AGE: twenty-four.
SEXUALITY: straight.
STATUS: single
GROUP: citizen
GRADE: N/A.
MAJOR: N/A.
JOB OCCUPATION: Currently unemployed.
HAIR: Naturally, she sports a mousy brown shade, but it’s dyed blonde and highlighted. The style changes from edgy to cute, depending on where she is and what is happening. She does prefer to keep it a shorter length, but that varies from cropped to just by her shoulders..
EYES: brown.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: She’s got a few from fighting when she was younger, scrapping with her brothers and other foolish things.
TATTOOS: She has a heart inside her left ear, and it is a “matching tattoo” with her brother, Jamie (he has a small cross on his foot). Behind the same ear she has a Sailor Jerry style tattoo of a wishbone and four leaf clover. She had it done on St. Patrick’s Day right before her final exams as an emblem of good luck to herself. Behind her right ear is a tiny robot that symbolises science and her passion for it. Her graduating class all got the tattoo somewhere after a sentimental night as they prepared to say goodbye. On the side of her hands you’ll find lipstick and scissors, these represent glamour and severity; an old reminder of her grandmother who used to say that behind every glamorous woman there was someone cracking the whip and barking orders to make them look that good! She meant it in criticism, but Ellery sees it as a motivational remark; the hard work and dedication makes life beautiful. Her left arm is home to a half sleeve that represents her childhood; Disney castle, a Polly Pocket, gerbera daisies, Nintendo controller, My Little Pony, candy, more flowers, musical notes, pepperoni pizza and a push pop! On the inside of her left forearm is a Sailor Jerry pin up girl. She got that one after some crazy night in a bar and a heated conversation about women empowerment. Her right wrist holds The Kiss of Death, and fanged ruby red lips, along with a green Frankenstein like hand, wearing a pearl bracelet. On her right shoulder she has a unique military style shoulder pad that she got in memory of her uncle who died serving. She has a Sailor Jerry spider on the inside of her right bicep to go along with a “don’t let fear hold you back” thing. She was terrified of spiders as a kid until a friend forced her to hold his pet one! On her right forearm she has song lyrics; “If God gave me grace then why aren’t I graceful?” done in typewriter print. She got that one done because she was starting to feel torn about who she was becoming. The desire to be herself conflicted with a lot of the things she was raised to be. Underneath that she has an antique dress form to sort of symbolise the same thing; she can support modern causes but also hold onto those traditional ideas that many find outdated. On the outside of her forearm is her travel piece that represents her dream of seeing the world; a globe, Polaroid & camera, suitcase, sunhat, sunglasses. She also has her homestate outline tattooed just by it to symbolise her roots. Audrey Hepburn on her left thigh. On her right thigh she has a tree with the leaves all on the ground rather than on the branches. It’s kind of a bucket list check-list; she’ll add a leaf to the branches for every dream of hers that becomes a reality. On her right shin there is another pin-up girl, with an Indian element and text wrapped around her protecting her modesty. She has a stomach piece, too! It has nautical stars around the edge but its central design is an exploding pocket-watch stuck on the time 11:11. It has wings to suggest “Time flies”. Her back is literally framed by a frame! It’s an ornate design, but with an empty middle that she might add to eventually. On her right foot she has a Warhol style Marilyn Monroe tattoo because she loves both of them! Across her ribs she has more lyrics “never to see...any other way” which to her mean that she shouldn’t worry about other people’s opinion of her. In between these she has a fleur-de-lis sternum piece resting between her breasts, trailing underneath to the bottom of her ribs.
PIERCINGS: Just her ears the once.
PLAY-BY: Alysha Nett!
LIKES: gerbera daisies, baseball, motorbikes, cheesecakes, late night diners, Irish Bars, Disney, beaches, bikinis, Fall, tattoos, fashion, dresses, high heels, t-shirts, the circus, colder weather, New York City, poker games, early mornings, duvet days, spicy pizza, hats, spiders, hair products, tacos, guacamole, skinny jeans, animal print, yoga classes, pumpkin spice lattes, flavoured water, cooking for herself, not getting caughtup in whatever her family is up to, trips to Kansas, fries.
DISLIKES: greasy hair, arrogance, boasting, chipped nail polish, losing all her hair ties/pins, sunburn, power cuts, bitchiness, drama in her life, dealing with her family's trouble, falling asleep on her couch, cold soup, bad coffee, her brothers dragging her into their fights, poor endings in movies, reality TV, feeling stressed, broken things, losing an earring, bananas, volatile mood swings, getting pass out drunk, driving in New York, cockroaches, the flu, the family business.
FEARS: life becoming boring, cockroaches, jail time.
SECRETS: In many ways this isn't really a secret, but Bronte tries to keep it under wraps these days. Her family is a crime family, with her parents and brothers being very much involved in illegal activity. She's kept her nose clean for the most part, only ever being tricked into doing things when she was younger and playing the role of a more unwilling criminal. Her record is squeaky clean, but the family name is far from it. Bronte is trying to make a fresh start for herself now, away from everything her family stands for, but blood is thicker than the water she's put between herself and them!
PERSONALITY: People look at Bronte and see one of two people. They either see a driven and dedicated young woman who could achieve a lot in her life, or they see the daughter/sister of a crime family, who will inevitably follow in the same footsteps as her family – if she hasn't already done so. She's energetic, to say the least and oddly careful, since she doesn't want to end up serving time for her family's reckless lives. However, her intelligence in keeping herself out of their troubles has led to them coming to her in the past when they've landed themselves in a bit of a pickle, her brothers especially. She was raised to be loyal and as such she can't turn her back on them completely, no matter how many times she threatens to do so. Stubborn to the core, it's difficult to get rid of Bronte once she's in your life unless she chooses to leave of her own accord. She's fiery and a fighter, not only able to take care of herself, but also the kind who sleeps with a baseball bat beside the bed, ready to smash in the face of anyone who tries to break in. She's tough and difficult to get around, but that can sometimes work to her advantage in certain situations. Bronte is a betting kind of girl who always rises to a challenge set out before her. She stands out from a crowd in a number of ways, oozes with confidence and can be intimidating when she has to be; both traits she inherited from her father. Quick and also dry witted, Bronte is somewhat impatient and doesn't really have the time to wait around on others. She'd rather get things done herself, and thinks of herself as being independent. She's usually quite in control of her temper, but Bronte can have a short fuse when the right buttons are pushed and then she's a force to be reckoned with. She might be away from the “family business”, but it's hard to rid herself of entirely, when she threatens quicker than most when she's ready to throw a punch. A little wary when it comes to love, Bronte doesn't really have much experience of relationships lasting long since her brothers scare most of the men she likes away. However, she's a bit of a minx when she wants to be, and knows how to wrap a man around her finger to get what she wants. Right now most of her dates seem to end with a tub of Ben and Jerry's and late night sport programming, but that might one day change if she can find someone who isn't intimidated by her old life and what she's trying to become now.

HISTORY: There's a lot to be said about a couple who fall in love over committing a crime, but that's exactly what happened for Dustin and Marigold. Dustin learnt everything from his father, a middle man for a set of crooks in New York City, but he was gunned down in a turf war when Dustin was in his early twenties, leaving the young man to fill his shoes. Marigold was something more of a petty criminal, but she was quickly lured in by Dustin's ways and crimes. For a few years they relocated to Kansas, dealing with some “business” out there for Dustin's boss. While there they married and had four children, Bronte being their only daughter.
When Bronte was four, they were called back to NYC, Staten Island. She has very few memories of Dodge City, but she knows she preferred the time there to New York. The return to the big apple was when the trouble really started for the family. Her dad and mom were promoted, for lack of a better word, to bigger, brighter things in the criminal world. They were well known by the time Bronte was six. People understood what the family was about, threats were often made and she saw what her father would do to the people who crossed him. Once or twice, enemies of her dad, or those who were desperate, would try to make a move on her or her brothers, but it never really ended well. Bronte had a set of lungs with which she could scream and when most kids were learning how to read, her parents were teaching her and her brothers the most vulnerable parts of the human body to attack, just in case.
As she grew up, it was kind of taken for granted that the children would follow in the footsteps of the parents. Her brothers were certainly keen, but Bronte was not. She was all for fighting in the yard with her brothers, but she didn't exactly enjoy seeing her dad breaking people's fingers. Plus, she was the brains of the family. She actually enjoyed going to school and learning things whereas her brothers were likely to bunk off and get up to mischief. Her last name hardly filled teachers with confidence when she entered a classroom, but most were surprised by her commitment. It was a shame that there were frequent calls or interruptions from the family to have her pulled out of class for “personal emergencies” whenever the proverbial hit the fan. They had a good lawyer, who was about as corrupt as the family, and he frequently got them off most charges, but there were a few short jail stints for the family here and there.
Bronte surprised everyone when she announced that she wanted to go to college and take a business degree. At first she was contemplating medicine, but she knew it was never going to happen. Business, she could sell to the family and get them to front the cost of NYU. They saw a way to have a cover for the family dealings, a way to have it all seem legit and the paperwork look legal. Bronte had no intention of making that her career, but they were convinced that she would play her part like her brothers before her. She dealt with the family accounts, and went along with what she had to for the four years of college. In that time, her role in the family dealings expanded when Kyle served eighteen months for possession, and her father had a medical scare with his heart. It was the least he could serve, which was a good thing, but it also bumped Bronte up to second in line. If anything it toughened her up and made her loathe the job more than she already did. However, no matter what she thought she couldn't turn her back on the family, and more than once she came in with the threats and did her father proud when people tried to cross him.
When Kyle was released Bronte picked him up. He asked her to stop at what she thought was a friend's place to pick up a few of his things. It was only when she heard gunfire that she knew he had lied to her and suddenly her role of caring sister turned into getaway driver. No one had been killed, thankfully, but Bronte had reached her breaking point that day. She told the O'Connors that she was done. That she would make it on her own, without their help and that they wouldn't be calling on her to clean up their messes again. The only problem was that Bronte couldn't ignore it when it was 4am and one of them called, breathless and desperate, but she would reiterate about it being the last time.
From there on, Bronte set about trying to make a life for herself, away from the name and the empire that the O'Connor's had built. It was difficult, since every security check flagged up her name as being linked to the records of her family. Her own record was squeaky clean since she had never so much as received a parking ticket, but her family's reputation spoke loud enough to cause her enough problems. If it wasn't that then people just didn't approve of how she was or looked. At twenty-four there's still a lot out there for her, but Bronte isn't so sure she can escape her past or her family.
