SECRETS: She searched for Rebecca but couldn’t find her anywhere.
PERSONALITY: Delia was a pretty carefree child, still is now that she’s on her own again. She has a wild to her now that she doesn’t have to be the protective aunt or adult and make sure her niece got to school on time. She’s quite intelligent, having already gotten a degree under her belt for psychology. She’s objective to a point and that point is different in each situation but she’s good at figuring things out. During her rebellious phase, she got that lovely sarcastic trait down to a science and enjoys using the droll remarks to stun people. Delia’s a caring and friendly person but she doesn’t want to be a mother hen anymore. She’s had to be that person since she was eighteen because her brother couldn’t quite cope. Now that she’s on her own she wants to make mistakes, get into trouble, and she’s too stubborn to take no for an answer! She’s got a feisty streak in her, even picking verbal fights with people in clubs because she can best them, and she knows it. She’s a confident girl and she’s quite determined though she is clueless about her destination. She will go after what she wants though, and keep trying even if she gets turned down a dozen times; that only means she’s figured out a dozen ways not to get what she’s after.

HISTORY: Miranda and Ross Reynolds had two children before either of them were twenty five; Blake when they were eighteen and six years later, Delia. The siblings were close growing up, despite the age difference when they got older. Delia had some sports, school and friends. Naturally, they grew apart a bit when Blake was eighteen and moved out with his high school sweetheart and Delia was twelve. She did well though, her grades were excellent, and she was on a few different sports teams for the city since her middle school didn't have any teams. A year later, she became an aunt to little baby Meredith. She spent a lot of time babysitting and hardly spent any time at home anymore. Her life up until was pretty average. And then she turned fourteen and everything seemed to just take a dive.
She was at home, babysitting Meredith and doing her homework when her brother showed up at the door two hours before he was supposed to. He’d been the contact in case either of their parents got into an accident. In this case, it was both of them. Their father survived the initial accident, falling into a deep coma. After a couple weeks on life support, the doctors informed Blake their father was brain dead, the only things keeping Ross Reynolds alive were the machines. It took another week before he finally filled out all the paperwork to take Ross of the machines and another three minutes and twenty seven seconds after the final power button was hit before he flat lined. Those three weeks were the hardest of Delia’s life. She threw herself into her studies, into fencing and her other sports. Blake and Rebecca moved into the big house with Delia, believing it was better for her that way.
From then, Delia pushed herself in her studies and fencing. It had taken her nearly a month before she cried over her parents, having gone through the burial and everything in a strange blur. It had all seemed just too preposterous to be real at the time. And then the tickets came to the annual father daughter dance Ross and Delia attended. She broke down, finally dealing with the pain. She hit a rebellious stage around then, dying her hair different colours, she got a tattoo and a second hole in her ear lobes but she was always there for the little girl who would never get a chance to get to know her grandparents. It really hit her that she was spiraling when she was sixteen and broke her leg. She hadn’t been doing anything stupid for once; she’d just been climbing the big tree in the backyard, trying to make Meredith giggle and slipped. She landed wrong and snapped a bone in her leg. Blake was in the house so she screeched and because Meredith was scared, the little girl who had only been three.
After that she realized how badly she’d fallen. It had taken scaring Mer to see that though. But she changed her ways so she wouldn’t see that little girl cry because of her again. Her grades had slipped but Delia took some online courses on top of going to school. The next two years were a little boring; Delia spent her time with school, sports and even ran for senior class committees. She had no clue what she wanted to do with her life, but she knew she couldn’t live forever in South Queensferry, Scotland. It was too close to everything that happened in her life. She needed a fresh start somewhere new; somewhere no one knew who she was.
One day, when Delia was eighteen, Blake had asked her to pick up Meredith from preschool because he couldn’t get Rebecca on the phone. She agreed, picking her niece up and surprising the five year old with a trip to the ice cream parlour before going home. She was the one to find the note stuck to the refrigerator door. She’d left, taking only her clothes and her car and saying”I’m sorry. Goodbye –Becca”. That night, Delia deferred her acceptance to NYU, deciding to stay home for a bit longer. The college nearby had an excellent pre-law program so Delia spent half her time studying pre-law at Trinity Western University and the other half helping Blake take care of Meredith. Blake was too pissed off to be left alone and Delia just couldn’t leave Meredith and break her little heart again.
Just after she finished her psychology degree, Delia still stuck around home. But eventually, she needed to get away and let Blake take care of his little girl. She had been looking for a place in New York for a while, feeling that it was just far enough but hadn’t found a place she’d liked in two years. She wanted to go back to school, get a law degree, though she still didn’t want to be a lawyer. She figured it would somehow help her psychology degree. She turned twenty four in March, by the end of April, she was packing her bags, saying her see you later’s and catching a flight to New York City. She hadn’t lived in any other place but that house and now she was just going, with no thinking about it involved. She had an apartment set up; she’d gone a couple weeks before to let the delivery people up so she’d have furniture and a bed and while there, she found a job as a tour guide at the Museum of Natural History and get everything sorted before fully moving across an ocean. Right now, she’s just trying to figure out life without having an eleven year old girl to take care of. Her life is her own now.
