SECRETS: When he was twenty-one he had a fling with one of the customers who came into work. She was an older woman of thirty-six. It lasted three months and it ended when Luca realised that they were only together for the physicality and nothing really more. He had needed an escape from what his life was at the time and she had wanted a man to make her feel wanted after her divorce. In a way they had both been using each other and it wasn't healthy. Luca doesn't rate it as his most proudest of moments.
PERSONALITY: Luca is a guy with a heart of gold. He's very family orientated and will do anything for his mother or brothers, regardless of what the cost will be to himself. He's selfless for the most part, carrying plenty of burdens for longer than he can remember. However, at the same time, Luca has a bit of a chip on his shoulder, which is something he frequently apologises for if he feels he's acting childish about it, or moaning a little too much to someone who is in a similar situation to him. Luca is just a little too used to being looked down upon or mocked for most of his life that he's sick and tired of it. He's a warm and friendly guy who can be a little on the tired side more often than not thanks to the long hours he works. Luca is ambitious with dreams to make something of himself and to be successful so that he can secure a future for his family, but he puts that on hold for the present situations. Intelligent, but modest, Luca isn't one to boast or show off, although he is a talented young man. Outgoing, Luca holds his head up high and enjoys a good time with his friends, despite the bullies of his past. He's a protective character who won't let anyone hurt or upset the people he cares about, and he's not afraid to raise a fist to protect the people he loves the most. Passionate, this isn't just a good thing, but it can also be a negative, as Luca can lose his temper when people belittle the things he enjoys most of all. He's a flirt, but most of the time it goes nowhere but in his tip jar. Luca likes the girls and can easily be distracted by them, enjoys dates when he gets them, but ultimately he's looking for the girl he can take home to his mother and imagine growing old with on the porch swing.MOTHER: Debra Ann Kingsmith-Lee, 44.

HISTORY: Jonathan and Debra were both from Norman Oklahoma and their families both dated back for centuries in the city. They were both modest financially and they met straight out of high school when they started working in the same store. They were on different departments but their break times coincided with each other and they got to talking, then dating and eventually they were in love, married and living in a small house just across the town from their parents. Luca was the first son born and then three more followed suit over a span of eight years. They were a happy little family, if a little tight for money. Debra saved all of the clothes for the boys and used them for the next one, hand-me-downs worked quite well when little boys were growing fast and forever throwing themselves into puddles of mud at every opportunity.
When Luca was twelve, Jonathan was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. He didn't smoke and no one knew how he had developed it, but it was terrifying news and within eighteen months he had passed away. The family were devastated and ruined and no one really knew what to say or do to make any of it better. It was a teacher in Luca's school who put the bass guitar in his hand and told him to play it. Luca was never a kid who acted out, but he was getting frustrated enough for everyone to see. He was trying to be strong for his brothers, bottling away the tears until they were all fast asleep in bed, but there was only so much weight a young boy could carry on his shoulders. Why bass guitar Luca never asked nor cared, but it worked. A few times a week that teacher would let Luca skip out on gym to just sit in the music rooms and learn with him. Eventually that ended and he had to go to gym and just stay late once a week for lessons. It wasn't until Christmas when his grandparents bought him his own that he got to make it a real hobby and practice at home too. The following year he got another guitar and learnt that, too. However, Luca always said that it was the bass that saved him and the guitar that just made everyone else have a good time.
The family were the opposite of rich, especially after Jonathan passed away. There were times when the bills would come with final notice demands and Luca worked from the very moment anywhere would hire him. Some months there would be no TV, or there would be things sold to make sure that they had hot water to see them through. It was tough, but he knew their mother did what she could, working two jobs to keep a roof over their head. Luca pulled his weight too, but Debra always insisted that Luca put his education first. Her son was smart and she knew that; he wasn't to waste any of it.
An academic scholarship paved the way for Luca to attend Yale. No one could believe it, least of all Luca. He had to work non-stop to make his way when he got there and he always felt out of place next to some of the kids there, but what mattered was that he was there. Luca double majored in economics and business, wanting to make a successful future for himself and he had a good head for numbers and figures. He wanted to put something good out there for his mom and brothers. When he was in his sophomore year, disaster struck. A tornado back home completely destroyed his family home, leaving the house basically non-existent. The repair cost was astronomical and insurance wasn't even going to come close to covering any of it. Luca gave up his single room in student dorms and found an apartment close to his campus, but with two bedrooms. It wasn't big, it wasn't great, but it was a home. With that, his mother and brothers uprooted and made the move to join him in Connecticut since Debra refused to hear anything about Luca deferring a year or dropping out of Yale. Luca spent the rest of school juggling jobs to help save for his family and living on an air mattress in the living room of that apartment. He would do it for his family though, even if it did deflate several nights, and he did wake up with the family dog licking his ear too many mornings to count. In the end it was worth it.
Luca graduated with highest honours, and with enough money saved between them all for the family to move back to Oklahoma. However, Luca didn't go with them. He had a job offer in New York City, which he took. Alas, two months into the job the company he was working for folded. Not one to quit, he stayed in the city and found himself back in old habits. Taking up two jobs to keep the bills and the living costs of New York City while he looked around for more work, Luca began thinking things through. During that time he landed himself a bizarre and unseen role as the bassist for the band The Forged, when their last guy quit on them. He hadn't really focused on his music in a while with everything that had happened, but when his life looked like it was about to hit another slump, the music and the band helped pick him back up again. Right now his life is still stuck with working two jobs, fitting in gigs and band practice in between, but oddly Luca is kind of happy with that for now, handing out his CV whenever he gets a spare five minutes to do so. He wants to find a happy ending, some success and a future where he's not counting pennies quite so often, but for now he's content.
