While he is polite and courteous, he can be very perseverant when pursuing what he wants, whether that be in his career or in love. However, despite his outgoing demeanor, Joel can be insecure about himself. He is constantly doubtful of his achievements, and can even be pessimistic about the future. When others insult him, he can easily take things personally, which can affect his performance.
Joel is adamant about being honest, and does not take it well when others have been deceitful toward him. During his relationships, he strides to be loyal and considerate. However, his indecisiveness can put him in a bad situation when faced with important choices. HISTORY: Born as the eldest in a lower middle class family in Louisiana, Joel grew up not being able to have anything he wanted. Much of his wardrobe as a child was oversized and found in a thrift store, with the goal to be for him to wear them until they were literally worn out. However, his parents were loving, and provided a roof and warm meals for their son. At school, Joel was bullied by some for his socioeconomic background, and began to develop self-esteem issues. His academic performance was average, and nothing seemed to make him passionate until he joined a school play in the seventh grade.
Soon after that, Joel’s life began to revolve around acting. He did every play through high school, and his dream was to become a professional actor. He sought out auditions beginning his freshman year of high school, whether that be for a local play or a commercial, and landed some of them. The bullying which had accompanied him as a young child evolved slowly into admiration. By the time graduation rolled around, Joel had already landed a gig in L.A. and was planning on moving there. Although his parents were hesitant that he was not going to college, they decided that it was more important for him to pursue his dreams.
Throughout all this, however, there was another individual that played a key role in Joel’s life. A girl named Suzy, who had been in Joel’s class since kindergarten, supported him through his school career. In elementary school, she never picked on him, and would tell the bullies to back off if they teased Joel in front of her. They truly got closer in junior high, when Joel was beginning his acting career. She was supportive, charming, and different from the other girls. They then began dating the summer before high school.
However, when Suzy decided to enroll at NYU while Joel was going to L.A., things became more difficult. Long distance was hard on the both of them, and the stress stretched Joel out too much. After a heart breaking confrontation during Christmas of their freshman year, things ended between them.
Joel began to focus on his career more seriously than before, starring briefly in a TV comedy before landing his first role in a Hollywood movie. His fan base swelled, and soon his face could be seen on gossip magazines, in which rumors about him would spread. Some of them were true, while others noth. However, his relationships were all short and none of them serious. The fame was overwhelming to Joel at first, but he adjusted. His new break in his career landed him another part in a Hollywood movie, where the setting was in New York. The production agency then sent Joel to the city a few months before shooting began, so he could adjust to the environment. This only got him thinking about his ex, whom he hadn’t heard from in years.
But that was just a shadow left in his mind.

SAMPLE:Within several layered walls of a dungeon lay a single casket. Cold, lonely, and solemn. Within the casket, however, lay an incredible force. A force that reached beyond the boundaries of realms and ensnared those who touched it. But you couldn't tell by just looking. No, you had to feel the trembling evil in the surrounding atmosphere. You had to sense the vibrating shimmers of darkness the area was submerged in. This was the place where the demon Libitina lay.
The demon was in her coffin, still as a corpse. Even her heart was still. Her mind, however, spun as she pulled mental strings across space and even time. Her slaves, marionettes of her power, were spread across the entire realm of XISIN. They were everywhere, acting as her eyes and ears. It made her feel alive even though her body was as dead as a doorknob. She had been curious earlier when several of her strings were cut at about the same time. They were torn from her mental grasp brutally, like someone yanking them out before she could let go. This sudden loss made her curious. She didn't mind the loss of her puppets—there were plenty of weak-hearted men to replace them—but it made her wonder: who could it be that destroyed so many of her toys so deftly?
Webs of mental energy had been cast around the area, seeping everywhere for signs of liveliness. It wasn't for long before she could touch two presences, each complementary to the other in the most peculiar fashion. She probed them gently, finding one of them extremely familiar. Perhaps the Hellhounds had already interacted with one of them already. Yes, she remembered, they were being pursued by herself earlier. One of them was a thief that had crossed paths with her organization earlier. They were no doubt the ones who demolished her puppets. It was a bother, seeing as her memory and other mental capacities were impaired due to her extraneous mental activities. She had to break the seals. She had to get her powers back to full bloom.
Libitina reached out, determined to capture the two souls. One of them, however, eluded her grasp ever so slightly. The same way that it did before when it had first interacted with the Hellhounds. 'Whatever.' she thought, focusing on the remaining presence. This one would prove useful, both as a lure and a weapon. Securing her mental energy around the mind of the target, the demon began to send her song out, tampering with the very signals of the target's brain. Soon, it had fallen under her control. Slowly, she lured it closer and closer to her, allowing the being to transport across the boundaries of realms.
The presence was now clearly in her lair and she could still feel it approach, the mind dull under her sinister melody. It was going to free her from her misery.
It was going to bring her back to life.
The being crossed the threshold into the room where Libitina's casket lay, which was chained obscurely under the dim light of eternal torches. A talisman was summoned by the being and the seal closing her imprisonment shattered.
Feeling energy run through her dead limbs, Libitina marveled at the strength in clenching her fist. For the first time in many years, she could move. She opened and closed her hand, then rest it upon the lid of the sarcophagus. A strange energy tingled her fingertips and for a split second, she felt the earth tremble before everything shattered. Cool air rushed around the demon and for the first time in a century, she felt movement around her body. She was free. Libitina stood gracefully, brushing her gown out. Why was it pitch black before her? Certainly, she should be able to see! She lifted her hand to feel her eyelids. They had been closed for such a long time and she had been so accustomed to seeing through her puppets that she forgot about her vision. Using a conscious effort, the demon opened her eyes and saw. She saw color and light and shapes, all clear and before her. Very unlike the fuzzy and blurred vision through another's eyes.
The demon's eyes then turned to the being which had freed her. It was a wolf, black in color."Malorex. she spoke, the words tumbling off of the ancient lips. The canine had reminded her of her hellish pup. The loyal friend that had followed her into an eternal slumber. The demon then looked at the wolf and eyed him. "What joy! To find such an amazing thing! Now you will help me catch that friend of yours…" Libitina purred as she extended a hand to stroke the strong pelt of the wolf. She then began humming the same tune she had been sending to the wolf's head. The rhythm sent shivers through the walls and then a different sound resonated. It was of a much lower tone, but it's content seemed to blend with Libitina's melody in a most spectacular fashion. A different drumming then arose. At first it was far, then it neared, and then it was right there.
"Dear Malorex, it has been quite a long while." Libitina cooed as the large Hellhound's footsteps came to a stop. The hound was large and covered with a lava-like substance, all orange, red, yellow and even black, the color shifting constantly like that of a churning pit of magma. A stray mane ran down it's back and between it's perk ears. It was joyous for it had not seen it's mistress for the time that it too was sealed away.
After a few moments of rejoice, Libitina turned to the wolf. Staring at it with cold eyes, she wondered what she was going to do with it. "Perhaps, I should take these chains that you just freed me from… and tie you up with them." she chuckled sweetly, but with a poisonous tinge to her voice. She then bent down and picked up a loose chain and shook it ominously. "I think I'll have you go to sleep for a bit." After she spoke, the demon then clenched her mental grasp on the wolf's mind, determined to knock him out.
"I hope you prove as useful as you look."
