FEARS: Never finding someone to be real with, snakes, car crashes.
SECRETS: Hermione suffered with depression in her teens, but it was kept out of the papers and the gossip columns. With everything she did, the movies and the deals, it wouldn't do well to have someone “who had everything come out as feeling miserable”, which was the exact phrasing her agent used when the doctors advised Hermione to take a break and she wanted to do something good out of her diagnosis by raising awareness.
PERSONALITY: Hermione keeps up this rather mysterious allure these days so that she can keep her privacy; the one thing she values above everything else. She's always been described as intimidating by her brother's friends and this is something she supposes may come across when she's feeling in a not-so-great mood, but Hermione likes to think of herself as being at least approachable. She's wary of who she should and can trust, but she's not entirely closed off from the rest of society. With a droll wit it can be difficult to tell when she's clowning around and when she's being serious, but Hermione tends to speak more with her eyes than with her words. There's a weariness about her soul that she wants to get rid of, but more often than not she finds herself going through the same paces and moments. Hermione has a rather alluring personality too, where she ends up drawing people in easily; one of the reasons why she's been successful. Away from the cameras and the red carpet she's quite a quiet soul who would rather curl up with a book and a bubble bath than head out to the clubs night after night; though she does go out frequently. Hermione likes to think of herself as having a balanced personality these days where she can go out and have fun and yet still enjoy time by herself. Mature, Hermione doesn't see herself as naïve or needing people to depend on and she's independent, choosing to handle things herself than have others take care of everything for her. She's discovered how to hide her emotions well, which means she can be a tough girl to read, but Hermione is actually someone who feels easily enough in terms of being upset or excited. She's a bookworm by most means and is always reading something or had her current book in her bag with her. Hermione doesn't really have a temper that people get to see, but she will explode in private and wreck her kitchen or scream into pillows...whatever she needs to feel better. She's not one for throwing punches or getting into screaming matches with people unless it's in extreme privacy so no one else can be a part of it. She's still young, but love has knocked on her door a few times, but never stayed for good. However, Hermione can be untrusting of some men, which can kill a relationship before it begins. She's used to life being fast and non-stop, but romance is something she prefers to take slow and will not engage in flings or meaningless nights with random strangers. It's a lonely world for her, made lonelier by her own inability to believe whatever someone tells her when it comes to love. She doesn't want her face plastered across gossip columns, but some guys do and that's where the problems can begin, because she can mistake the good guys for those guys and kill things before it's even had a chance. She's romantic but prefers quirky over traditional. Hermione likes to be kept on her toes even though she knows she's not the easiest girl to love. There is hope for a happy ending somewhere, she just doesn't know where to find it.MOTHER: Kendall Leona March, 50.

HISTORY: Kendall and Demyx were both those friends who their friendships circles could like or hate. Which is why ultimately they were set up together; in the harsh hopes that they'd fall madly in love and piss off once and for all. For the sake of their friends it worked and the pair made insane plans for the rest of their lives together. They were both a little out-there and into slightly bizarre things. Demyx made a living as a taxidermist whilst Kendall ran a spiritualist store just outside of their home city. They were lovely people who just had hobbies that others didn't quite understand most of the time. They were taking their relationship as it came and when Kendall fell pregnant they were both surprised. Demyx put an engagement ring on his girlfriend's finger, but the pair ultimately never married, though they stayed together. In the end they decided that marriage wasn't for them, but eternity could be.
Their little girl was born in the middle of a freezing winter and was blessed with a name she would grow to despise but that people would definitely remember; Hermione Zelda Kent. She was a quiet bundle of joy who rarely cried and who was happy no matter what. Hermione was four when her brother was born. Nithaiah Eddard was also given a memorable name, but the problem was that children always struggled to pronounce complex names. For a long time, and sometimes even now, Nithaiah called his big sister “Nee-nee”. Hermione was four when her grandmother innocently put her into a “cutest child” competition. It was almost entirely forgotten about until Hermione won. Kendall turned down the modelling offers, but then came a call from an advertising executive who wanted to know if Hermione would shoot a small commercial for them. It was for washing powder and consisted of her getting grass stains on a white dress and doing adorable cute things to try and clean it before the “mother” would enter to promote the brand. Demyx talked Kendall into it saying it could be fun for Hermione and would earn them a little cash which they could really do with to help put a down payment on the house they wanted. The commercial was a hit and a whole series followed about the messy adventures this little girl could get into.
By the time she was six they were getting more calls from other people higher up the food chain. Hermione shot an advert for a new local kid's boutique and then went on to star as a neighbour's daughter in a hit comedy show. It was only for a few episodes, tiny part for a tiny girl, where the main family's little boy would “fall in love” with the little cutie over bugs and quickly get over her when he found out she didn't like Nutella. From there it was on to bigger and better things, with Hermione breaking into her first Hollywood role when she was only nine years of age. The family stayed in Minnesota for their businesses at first, but soon quit all of that when the offers for Hermione started coming in thick and fast. They got an agent on board and a whole team of Hollywood experts who help fling the little girl into the spotlight. Hermione's education came on film sets and studio lots via tutors. Her social life was the red carpet and her friends were casts and crew of the movies she worked on.
As she started to grow up, Hermione moved on from the roles of the cute little girl and took on more challenging parts and a fair mix. She played the girl next door, she played the troublemaker, and she even dipped her toes into the pool of villainy for a few parts. Tabloids reported on everything they could, from the first date they managed to capture on camera to the night when she had a wardrobe malfunction coming out of a Pre-Oscar event. No part of her life was private. Nithaiah kept the identity of his big sister private so he could attend school like most kids did, but when bullies started targeting him, Hermione stepped up. She showed up at the school one afternoon when they were gathering around Nithaiah and picked each younger boy off like he was nothing. It stopped his bullying, actually earned him respect from his classmates for having such a cool big sister and was where Hermione first heard herself being called intimidating. The siblings were close, but this brought them closer.
However, that closeness wasn't enough. Hermione might have appeared to have it all, but she was suffering. At sixteen she had lost track of how many movies/TV shows she had been a part of. She had no friends to turn to since those she was closest with were in the same industry as her, so frequently off filming on other locations or busy. Her bank account was untouchable, but she was definitely set for life and yet she had no one to share that with. It felt like she moved from movie to movie, red carpet to red carpet and just changed her dress in-between. During a four week break from filming in Australia, she didn't move. She fell into a terrible slump and eventually Demyx called for a doctor who soon gave the diagnosis of depression. Hermione might have looked like she had everything, but she was miserable and lonely and didn't feel like this break was helping her. The diagnosis seemed to help the pieces fall into place but her agent, who had been commanding her life since she was about ten, worked to cover it up. Hermione wanted to be honest, to come out and say that she was ill, that it sucked, but that there were ways to help. She wanted to recover herself and then help others, but her agent said no. He said that the doctor was just giving an “easy label” and that if she came out and was honest that everyone would target her behaviour as being bratty. After all, she lived a life only many could dream of, what reason did she have to battle depression?
Hermione was stuck. She kept getting thrown into movies and the shows and yet she wanted to step back from all of that. Plans decided long before she could understand them meant that she didn't gain control of her assets or decisions from her parents until she was twenty-one. It could have been eighteen, but there were concerns about wild partying and a bad phase if she wasn't guided properly; again something her agent had put in place. So she had to battle her depression with medication and secret trips to the psychiatrists couch where he would encourage her to take some time to do what she wanted to do. Her parents and brother tried too. They made sure to book more vacation time, to give her breaks between work and to limit the amount of hours she would spend on a set per week. It helped, it little bits, but what helped most was that they started to give Hermione control via them. She had always read over scripts before saying yes or no, but her parents had previously had first read and rejected if they thought movies were too violent or graphic for their daughter. Now they let her make those choices and it came to a point where all they did was manage her finances and she had free reign. They also held the agent back whenever Hermione tossed away a rom-com script in favour of playing a supernatural bounty hunter.
She got better, slowly and in secret, but Hermione knew that there was every chance she could find herself sick again if she wasn't careful. She started thinking about things, her future. She loved acting, had no plans to cut it out entirely, but there were other things she wanted to have a go at in life. At twenty-one, when her parents were officially out of her career in every way she made her first shock decision by firing the agent who had dictated her life for so long. It caused a minor stir in the waters, but Hermione only remembered the lack of sympathy and help that had been offered when she was at her lowest point. They weren't the traits of a person she wanted to keep in her life. After that things took a change for the better almost instantly. Hermione enrolled in university for the fall to study palaeontology; a subject she was interested in and one no one expected her to study. There was a decline in the number of parts she accepted so she could focus on school and there was definitely a sense of freedom about her that people hadn't expected.
She moved to New York City for school, put all of her awards on a shelf in a spare room so she could remember what she was capable of when times did get a little tough. She dyed her hair from blonde to red and began to experience her first taste of total freedom. She became better at keeping everything private and the child star turned into an enigma of a young woman who had the looks to stay in Hollywood, but the sharp wit to keep her surviving elsewhere too. Now she lives in the crowds and tries not to let the world see her as just some Academy Award nominated actress, but is out to prove that there's more to herself than performing. However it's tough not knowing who can be trusted and where to turn when things to start to fall apart. Hermione longs for that balance and to figure out what her true role is in life, but she's yet to find out if New York holds the key to that answer.
