FEARS: Turning into Grumpy, any bite/sting related death, flying.
SECRETS: He's afraid of settling down with anyone/anything. He likes his youthful nature and that doesn't involve a nine to five slog or the wife and kids image.
PERSONALITY: Seth is the biggest dork going these days. And he's not going to give one rats ass if you call him a total nerd either. Because he knows these things to be true about himself. He's a goofball and a big bundle of energy compressed into the body of a twenty-one year old video game enthusiast. Happy, almost always wearing a grin, Seth is a friendly guy who could pass for a clown if he wasn't so freaked out by them. He's talkative and nonsensical most of the time and frequently scolded for being far too hyperactive. He's big on his hobbies, but is also a complete couch potato and asking him to move is sometimes like asking for world peace; wishful thinking. He's a fast-paced guy who is spontaneous and also very, very messy when it comes to things like clutter and laundry. Seth is passionate maybe even slightly obsessive, but he doesn't see these as bad things, even if it means his apartment is cluttered and crowded. He's immature and finds most things hilarious, so it can be difficult to take him serious at times, especially when he 's easily distracted and flits from one thing to the next. Totally clumsy it's not uncommon to see Seth sporting bruises and mysterious injuries. His habit of getting ahead of himself usually means he runs into things or falls over something laying about. He's really embarrassing but he doesn't really let it bother him all that much, though friends may not enjoy him bursting into loud song or dancing like a moron at the drop of a hat. Shameless is probably a good word to describe Seth who also doesn't think before he speaks, and often finds himself saying the one thing people were trying to avoid. He's often easily frustrated but when that does happen he usually lets it out in video games or with his guitar and very rarely confronts people if they're the reason for his frustration. Seth can be oblivious and isn't always aware that people might not wholly be comfortable with his habits; like him walking around almost naked most of the time. It's also easy to find his hyperactive and fanatical personality a little grating, but he's aware this happens and doesn't get mad when people shout at him for it. It hurts him sometimes, but he bottles it up and deals with it himself. Seth is just about as cheeky as they come. He's fun and a complete flirt without realising it. At the same time though, he doesn't always know when someone is showing interest in him. He's a naturally sweet guy, a total gentleman and it's happened in the past that crushes have developed on him that he didn't reciprocate. It's awkward but he tries to shy away from accidentally leading anyone on. He's not the kind of guy to go out hunting for a relationship, and if one comes along he mainly tries to keep it light and not one where he finds himself talking about kids and marriage – not even jokingly. In truth the idea of settling down kind of frightens him since he still acts like s big kid himself.MOTHER: Anne Bethany Laurell, 48.

HISTORY: Seth was the third and thankfully final child born into the Laurell family. Anne and Ty never planned on having three children, but that seemed to be the design fate had for them. They wound up with a daughter and then two slightly wild boys who needed more attention than they had expected. Ultimately, the first few years led to Anne quitting her job in the publishing office to take care of the kids. They lived closed enough to Tyson's parents in Brattleboro for them to be adequate babysitters when necessary, but they were enjoying their early retirement with some around the world trips and bucket list bashing, so they weren't always home to mind the three siblings every day of the week.
Seth's childhood was fairly simple. He was on the clumsy side and was one of those kids who caught the flu at least twice during cold season. There was nothing wrong with him for medical concern, but he was always the kid with the sniffles, having an allergic reaction because he wasn't paying attention to something, or being sick because he decided to eat too much junk food when his mother's back was turned. Because of this, along with a few broken bones before his thirteenth birthday, Seth spent a lot of time indoors, but he had far too much energy to be left with a few toys and some books. So his parents treated him to a computer for his birthday and then a games console for Christmas. That seemed to be the start of his obsession with everything that was considered part of the “geek culture”. He made friends with people he could play games with and it developed that whenever these kids mentioned shows like Star Trek, Doctor Who or their favourite superheroes, Seth would go and search out what the hell they were talking about before falling in love with most of the same things.
This did lead to a considerable amount of bullying from his classmates and even his older siblings when they could get away with it. However what many of them failed to realise was that Seth didn't see being a geek or a nerd as a bad thing. Sure, he could do without his locker being vandalised at school and without the jocks pushing him and prodding him during gym class, but he didn't let most of it bother him when he could. A few things did cut him deeply, but then he picked up a controller or a mouse and blasted those frustrations away through his games. This became his way of dealing with almost everything life handed to him and definitely cranked up the total number of hours he spent on those video games, or escaping into the world of comic books.
High school could have been the one place to really change Seth. He was one of those kids who went from looking like the typical spotty teen with crooked teeth and bad hairinto being someone who turned heads in the hallway. It seemingly happened over one summer, but Seth didn't notice at all until girls in his class started talking to him. He was always a sweet guy behind the hyperactive persona and goofy nature, which meant a few of his classmates fell for him when they really shouldn't have done. Once or twice Seth was accused of leading them on, when in actual fact he didn't even realise he had done anything at all. He might have looked like quite the catch, but he was still the same old kid as ever; awkward and shameless and a little on the crazy side for the popular crowd. By the time he left high school he had dated two girls, perhaps paid a bit more attention to his fashion likes and dislikes, but ultimately we was still the Seth everyone had known and loved; the dorky gamer who wasn't ashamed to embarrass himself or others and who could spew out geek trivia like he took classes in it.
His parents had always stressed the importance of a good education and with his older siblings already out in the world or in college themselves, the same was expected of Seth. He didn't mind, but he didn't know what he wanted to do either. His mind was almost entirely focused on video games and the next movie release that he wanted to see. He knew he wanted to move away from Vermont but he didn't want to go to the other side of the country either, so he settled for a school in New York City, eventually choosing to study Graphic Design since his best subjects in school had involved art and computers, though he was frequently reminded that doodling on his school books did not classify as art. His grades had been acceptable growing up, but nothing to really boast and he was a solid B student who scraped by with one C in gym class since apparently tripping over his own two feet was not deserving of marks.
Seth made the move to the city, fought hard to grab the position at Forbidden Planet so he could make extensive use of that staff discount and enrolled in school. Since then very little has changed apart from his age and maybe his move from dorms to his own little apartment with neighbours who don't seem so keen on him shouting at his electronics. The future is a scary thing for Seth who kind of wants to stay young forever and just loaf around with games for as long as he can.
