PERSONALITY:
Compassionate - Daniel is a compassionate soul, despite his gloomy past. He cares deeply for others and will do whatever he can to help them, especially teenagers under his care. His compassion doesn't just fall under his clients though... it also extends out to his friends and family.
Loyal - This man is very strict when it comes to loyalty. It doesn't matter the form, but if one swear loyalty to someone else and then breaks that, then to him their words mean nothing. It's like with his brother and how he had tried to blame that first fire on the eldest Giovanni child. Despite that, Daniel was loyal to his brother and saved his scrawny rear from certain death. He even makes an effort to go and visit his brother in prison. For Daniel, loyalty is an ultimate form of trust that, once broken, takes a really long time to mend.
Fear of fire - When he was seventeen, Daniel nearly lost his life in a fire. Since then he's been deathly afraid of fire... and of being alone. Had it not been for the help of his neighbors, the boy might not have survived into the man he is today. At night he still sometimes has nightmares of that fateful day and any huge fires sends him into a panic attack. Now a small flame on a stove or even a little bit of a flame when cooking outdoors is fine, but it's the more serious ones such as house fires that really get him going.
Short fuse - Daniel can lose his temper easily on certain things. With children that come to him for help and they fight his help, Daniel might show some slight annoyance at his time being wasted, but it's things like animal abuse that REALLY sets him off. Daniel is an avid animal lover and wishes to have pets of his own. Even when hunting he doesn't do it for sport. If he catches something to eat he will quickly do so. But he won't keep an animal trapped and laugh at it's predicament. It just infuriates him how some people can do that to animals. The same goes for children. Seeing child abuse is also something he can get angry quickly over. For him children and animals are his weak points, the two things he would literally die for if push came to shove... and it could very well be a weakness for him if he ever had a family.MOTHER: Ariana Giovanni (nee Lockett), 90

HISTORY: He was born in Salem, Massachusetts. Daniel is the oldest of three children. With this came great responsibility. As Daniel, and later his brother and sister, grew up it was his responsibility to watch out for his siblings and make sure they didn't get into trouble. However, things were always complicated between Daniel and Joshua Jr. No matter how hard Daniel tried, he could not keep an eye on his brother all the time. Growing up he was always playing with his friends or babysitting his siblings.
On many occasions, Daniel was always in trouble for not watching his brother better. However, one fateful day would cause a huge rift between Daniel and his brother. One day Daniel was babysitting his brother and sister. He had them set down in front of the T.V. watching their favorite program. Both wanted some snacks and Daniel retreated into the kitchen, Daniel was seventeen, Heather was thirteen, and Junior was eleven. When Daniel returned from the kitchen, his brother was nowhere in sight. Daniel asked his sister who was actually surprised that their brother had disappeared.
Setting the snacks down, Daniel went in search for his brother and found him in the master bedroom, playing with something. Daniel noticed it was a lighter. He and his brother began arguing and then a fire was lit. Daniel and Junior were both startled. However, the flames quickly grew in intensity. Without thinking, Daniel grabbed his brother and thrust him out of the master bedroom, but he himself was trapped. The only other exit from the room was the backdoor, but Daniel could not reach it, the flames had gotten to be too much.
The young man locked himself in the master bedroom's bathroom and blocked the bottom of the door. A small window was over the bathtub. Rushing to it, Daniel opened it. He knew he was too big to climb out, but it provided two advantages. First, it gave him some fresh air, and two, he could call for help. And that was what he did. Junior and Heather made it outside to safety, but Daniel was trapped inside. Neighbors rushed around trying to find a way to reach the boy or find a way to get to the window where he was at.
Joshua Jr. began telling everyone that his brother was the one who started the fire and he made it sound pretty convincing. After all who was stuck and who wasn't? However, Heather came to the rescue and explained all that had happened leading up to the fire. It soon became clear that Daniel was not at fault at all. Smoke filled the bathroom and Daniel became faint from the mixed air quality. Remembering all the fire drills growing up he dropped to the ground, where the oxygen was, but he soon used it all up.
The young man soon found himself slipping into unconsciousness. The last thing he heard were the people outside hollering up to him, but receiving no reply. The last thing he saw was the door starting to catch fire. Then blackness.
The next thing Daniel knew was he was staring up into some pretty bright lights. He winched and he heard alien sounding voices and then the lights were off. Letting his eyes focus, Daniel found himself in a hospital room. He was alive?! His mother and father were staring down at him with concern. Daniel tried to speak, but his voice was raspy. His mother got him a glass of water and gave it to him. Daniel drank and he felt a bit better. Soon he blacked out again, it would happen over the next day or so.
A week after the incident, Daniel was released from the hospital. His voice was still a little raspy and he had some minor burn scars on his hands, which was surprising, but otherwise Daniel was fine. He noticed his brother had never been around. Joshua Jr. had been sent to Juvenile Prison for what he had done. He would be rehabilitated and returned home in a couple of months.
Daniel felt like crap and no wonder. He asked what happened and his sister spoke up. She explained that a neighbor had found a big ladder and put it up against the master bedroom's bathroom window. He then had an axe and began chopping away around the window frame. A hole big enough to be able to drag Daniel outside. By the time the neighbor had gotten the hole big enough, the flames were nearing Daniel's outstretched hands. Already, second degree burns had been forming. The neighbor grabbed Daniel by the ankle and pulled him towards the window.
At that time the Fire Department had shown up and helped the neighbor bring Daniel down. He was then rushed to the hospital where he was treated for the burns and for the smoke inhalation. Daniel had saved his brother despite what he had done. When Junior returned home, Daniel was very pissed at him and refused to look after him anymore. So whenever Daniel could he took to leaving the house and wandering around the neighborhood. Some of his classmates would offer their support and condolences and Daniel would just glare at them.
Only one good thing came from the house being set on fire... it was summer and he didn't miss any school while he was in the hospital. However, it did not seem to reassure him. When school started up again, his grades slipped a little and his counselor tried everything to help Daniel cope with all that had happened. Six months after his senior year started, a new girl came to the school. Daniel was drawn to her and the two became friends. Her name was Laura. As the year passed, Daniel's grades improved and thanks to Laura he was able to become a happier, healthier person.
Daniel got a job at the local library and began earning money. He helped his parents rebuild the damaged parts of the house and even put in some money to add a section to it, nothing fancy, but something. Towards the end of the school year Prom came around. Daniel asked Laura to be his date and she said yes. There was a huge fuss over everything. Daniel wore a tux and Laura wore a beautiful strapless lilac dress with silver trimmings.
They went and after all that had happened, Daniel and Laura were crowned the Prom King and Queen... in fact Daniel's was a unanimous vote. It was the happiest day of his life. Daniel wasn't a jock and he wasn't popular, but everyone didn't think he deserved to go what he had gone through and to help, they all decided to make him the Prom King so he could have a happy memory to erase the bad one.
Prom ended and Daniel took Laura home, neither were very much into parties and the whole school knew it. He told his parents and his sister that he had been crowned Prom King and that made them happy. Not long after, Daniel graduated from high school. He continued working at the library to help pay for a college tuition. He was in birth town for two more years and in that time Laura moved away once again. Daniel and Laura kept up emailing each other and what not, but it soon became clear that the long distance thing wasn't working out.
Daniel finally earned enough money for a small community college near his home and he began attending classes. He decided he wanted to do something in counseling, help children with traumatic situations; fires, car accidents, etc. While Daniel was in college and his sister soon to follow, his brother started setting more and more places on fire. As the young Giovanni child grew older, he became more and more angry and resentful.
Years passed and Daniel found himself graduated from college and moving to a new city where he became a counselor for troubled teens. He spent the next ten years there. While he had worked there, most of the teens who suffered traumatic incidents, and turned to suicidal tendencies, found Daniel to be a mentor and role model for them. Everyone that went through Daniel came out better and stronger and was able to rejoin the normal world. Because of this, Daniel received several certificates from the institutes board of directors.
He even got some letters from parents of the children thanking him for the help he did for the troubled teens. However, things were not meant to last. Daniel announced he was moving once again. Everyone was sad to see him go, in that time several of his former "patients" came back to help with other troubled teens as well. Even though Daniel left, he had left behind a legacy, more and more trouble teens were getting better because of him.
Daniel then moved to Fairfield, Idaho. By this time, Daniel was 36. He moved to Fairfield in order to start fresh, putting as much distance as he could from his past. Over the years his sister would call him up and tell him what was up with their brother, who had been in and out of jail on many occasions. Daniel was in Fairfield for less than a year when his sister called him and told him that she and her boyfriend were finally getting married, they had two kids together, a date was set and Daniel scheduled time off.
Two years later, Daniel flew out to Richmond, Virgina where his sister and fiancee were tying the knot. He had actually been chosen to be best man. Needless to say, Daniel did not have any dry eyes during the event. His sister getting married showed Daniel what he was missing in life. After the wedding his thoughts went back to Laura, a kind and loveable young woman who he now realized was in love with. Unfortunately it was too late to tell her that he loved her. She had gotten married to another man five years before and was expecting their first child.
After that Daniel led a solitary life. He had friends and the occasional fling with a woman, but he had never actually found a woman he truly loved. Years passed and finally Daniel decided to move one last time. This time it was to the other side of the northern continent in New York, New York. Daniel was 43 by this time.
Once again Daniel left behind a legacy. At the age of 43 he moved to Forks and settled, this time for good. He now opened his own counseling business and hired some other counselors that he thought were great. The town was small, but Daniel felt at ease here. Years passed and now Daniel is 48 years old and winding down in his life. He still holds the occasional fling, but he mainly focuses on helping troubled teens, and even working with the local police department with some of the kids that come through there that are in trouble. Some were saved and some were not. And even to this day, Daniel's brother still continues to set fires and is currently sitting in prison for fifteen years for his crimes. Daniel still remembers the day he nearly lost hist life thanks to his brother and the journey he took to get where he is now.

SAMPLE:Sulpicia had been traveling for some time. It had been a while since her last feeding of human blood and her eyes were steadily growing blacker and blacker. With each passing day she grew more and more hungry and it got to the point where her eyes were completely black and there were shadows around her eyes. The vampire knew that she needed to find the Volturi and soon.
After the change of power at Volterra she had gotten separated from Corin, Aro, and Demetri in the chaos. She knew she would find them eventually, but after being held at Volterra for so long she was unsure of how to actually hunt outside her home. While the Volturi had the food brought to them it had still be considered "hunting" because of Heidi.
Heidi was their hunter and she always managed to hook the meals in such a way that no trace would ever be found. She and Athenodora were always given some of the tastier morsels, after Aro, Marcus, and Caius of course. The woman missed those days. While she was held prisoner in the tower with Athenodora she always felt a little safe and content and not because of Corin's ability either.
No. Sulpicina had always been respectful of Aro and after a time came to truly love him. She did not like his power hungry ways at times, but there were moments when he was bearable. Then the Romanians came and took Volterra over and drove the Volturi from their home. Aro and Demetri came for her and led her away and they were joined by Corin later, but not long after they had been separated. Since then Sulpicia had been looking for them and trying to learn how to hunt at the same time.
She tried her best, but when the hunger got too much she became a little out of control, but Sulpicia always managed to leave no traces behind that she had ever been there. It was hard, but effective. Now Sulpicia found herself in Washington. Forks, Washington to be exact. Knowing that the humans here were off limits Sulpicia grimaced at the thought of drinking animal blood. Then again she wouldn't have to. Sulpicia could go to Seattle or somewhere where the Cullens did not have claim to.
For now though she just wandered aimlessly. Her senses were dulled a little because of the lack of blood, but she picked something up and she quickly became alert. Who or what was here? Had the Romanians found her? Sulpicia knew she would not survive if that were the case. First off she was weak from lack of blood and secondly if Marcus had been killed when the Romanians took over just think of what would happen if they caught her. Of course, Aro would avenge her death once he found out, but Sulpicia was never going to die. Not if she had anything to say about it.
