PERSONALITY: Zander is not one to be left behind. He enjoys a good party as much as he enjoys speeding through the park on his skateboard. He isn’t too fond of being alone so finding the place he lives in now was a perfect. He’s a sweet but he’s had a ton of issues growing up so he’s not exactly the most trusting; ironic really. His roommates are the closest thing Zander has to family and he’s a loyal guy to them and those few others he calls friends. Though he had troubles, he doesn’t let them get the better of him. He is a complete optimist even when it really looks bleak. Don’t be fooled though, this man can be quite the troublemaker and enjoys a good prank. He’s a foolish man, too often referred to as a bit of a goofball and always laughs at the most inappropriate times, often needing an elbow to the stomach to get him to settle down. As far as tempers go, Zander doesn’t really have one but that doesn’t stop him from throwing the final punch if necessary. He’s a guy with good intentions but usually bad timing. Oddly enough, he’s okay with this.MOTHER: Michelle Reich & deceased.

HISTORY: Zander’s tale isn’t the nicest one out there but he hardly had a terrible life. His mother had some issues with drugs before he was born, often enough sleeping with her dealer to pay for her fix. It was one of these unions that brought Zander to the world. Michelle tried in vain to go straight, getting herself into a rehab center, finding a job and moving in with her mother to deal with everything. But it only lasted a couple years and her dealer; Zander’s father found her again, got her addicted again. She never told him about Zander throughout the rest of her life until that last hit she’d taken. Something was different and she felt he needed to know. Neither got to live long enough to sort out their feelings on the matter. Both were high and fell into a high that was more of a coma. Karl passed out with a cigarette in his hand which fell to the rug under the table and started the fire.
Zander was four when his mother and the man that provided half his DNA died. His grandmother kept him around but it was a tough time for them both. He was a constant reminder that her daughter was getting her life together just to turn around and go back to the way things were. His grandmother didn’t want to hate him but in the end that’s exactly what she did. By the time Zander was twelve, he knew enough. He wasn’t given a whole lot and he spent more time out on the streets and at friend’s houses than he did in his own household. He fell in with a bad crowd, leaving his real friends behind, started drinking young; but always refrained when the drugs were passed around. He didn’t say why, just that he wasn’t interested.
It wasn’t until he was sixteen and these new friends tried to force drugs on him that he really opened his eyes about everything. Instead of running back to his grandmother who would just scream and yell and throw him out, he went to the one house he knew wouldn’t turn him away; his best friend. Jackson stuck with Zander through everything, even when Zander went on benders, skipped school and was just a huge ass to him. There was no one else in Zander’s life who would have done that. Even his own grandmother didn’t completely care where he was and why he was out all night or went missing for days on end. But Jackson did. And Jackson’s family took him in and treated him like one of their own. His mother told Zander’s grandmother that she was taking him in and didn’t expect anything from her to care for him but they received money from her each month for food and clothes. Jackson and his mother helped him get his grades back up, she gave him a cellphone so he could keep in touch, let her know if he was going to be home late because of a sports game, tutoring or if he had to stay late at the part time job Janelle had managed to get him at her sister’s hair salon, along with Jackson. They played the roles of receptionist on alternating days and it was there that Jackson was scouted by a talent agent who’d just gone in to get her hair done.
Jackson wouldn’t go without Zander. They were as close as brothers and he was nervous. So Janelle took both boys with her and four hours later, they were both signing a yearlong contract with the agency. Both boys started booking photo sessions, runway shows and Jackson even got a couple commercial calls. The money Zander made modelling went towards his college fund. He didn’t have an option to continue schooling. Janelle had told him, if he wanted to live with them, he had to attend school and he had to go to college or university. It didn’t have to be anything special, could have just been a couple courses and the community college but once he was back at school full time, he realised she was right and he wanted to finish school. So that money helped him a lot. When the time came to pick out schools, Both Zander and Jackson applied to schools in both New York and California, figuring both places were big with modelling and it would be a little easier to maybe get jobs. Jackson got accepted to UC Berkley but Zander got letters from New York.
It was strange for Zander to move to New York without his best friend but they spoke constantly. He talked to Janelle constantly and told her a dozen times how grateful he was she took him in when no one wanted him. And she laughed it off, told him how much she loved him, thought of him as her second son and then told him to get off the phone and do his work. Zander hated the dorm rooms though, they were too small and too stuffy and he didn’t like the cramped feeling the space brought. So he went looking for an apartment and stumbled across one. He’d been looking around campus for flyers and though there were a few, one stuck out to him so he tore off a number and gave them a call. Instantly, Zander felt comfortable and at ease with the group. They were into a lot of the same things and didn’t tease Zander too much about him being a model; often taking him up of offers to go to club openings and parties. As thankful as Zander is for his life, he wants more out of it and modelling isn’t where he sees himself in twenty years’ time. He still wasn’t sure if what he chose was what he wants to be when everything’s all said and done but right now the classes intrigue him and that’s all that matters to Zander.
