 So this man caused a whole lot of drama-llama back in Alabama. You can find most of the details in Missy's app so I'll try to keep it brief here. Artemis and Mikey met when she was cutting class one day to escape the bullies. Artemis comes from a conservative and very strict Catholic family and attended a school to match. Essentially, she didn't fit in, but those details are not important. What is important is Mikey. Their relationship is the reason she was kicked out and disowned by her parents at sixteen and why she's in New York now. She's there because he wanted to be there. It's been a few years now and she's the one with the steady waitressing job, but has recently started attending NYU for interior design. So there might be some bumps in the road from here on out. The facts about Mikey, and what you need to know are as follows: - He's four years older than Artemis, making him 25. The age is another reason why her parents disapproved since he would have been 20 when they were initially dating, Missy 16. - He's got to have some ambition, but maybe not always the drive. I have in her app that they met while he was busking, but whether he dreams of being a musician, an artist, an actor...that sort of thing is entirely up to you. The point just has to be that he hasn't made it yet. Why, is up to you. - I'd also like for him to look like the kind of guy her parents would've hated instantly; scruffy-chic, maybe some tattoos...just something that would have the parents of Artemis freaking out. I put Caleb Turman up there just because I like pictures, but I'm sure there are a million alternative PBs for Mikey. - He has to love Artemis. They've been together for five years already, and he took care of her when her parents abandoned her. They can have some tough times, some bad mistakes, but right now they're still together. It might not stay that way forever. Maybe they completely fall apart and never see each other again. Maybe they take a break and have some dramatic reunion. Maybe they're soulmates and stay together forever and ever. His opinion/history in the relationship can be whatever you want. Artemis is kind of besotted with him, but I think she rose-tints some things, so there is room for error and her forgiveness. So yeah, I think that's about it. Most of it you can mess around with and create Mikey entirely original. Artemis just kind of needs her boyfriend around.
