GENDER: Male.
SEXUALITY: Straight.
STATUS: Single.
GROUP: Citizen.
GRADE: N/A.
MAJOR: N/A.
JOB OCCUPATION: Journalist for the New Yorker.HAIR: Brown, quite short, but also long enough that he can have some fun styling it. Wax is a man's best friend in his opinion.
EYES: Brown.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: He still has the scar from when he has his appendix removed when he was a teenager.
TATTOOS: None. He's not a fan of them, personally. Appreciates the art of them, just not the part where they're printed on ageing skin forever.
PIERCINGS: None. Not sure he could pull it off if he did.
PLAY-BY: David Tennant!LIKES: Writing, scratching things off his bucketlist, seeing his pieces published, late night phone calls, being in New York, travelling, lazy days, beaches, reading, Game of Thrones, speaking with Jacqueline, shortbread biscuits, graphic t-shirts, casual dates, dive bars, chilli fries, board games, collecting beer glasses, photographs, black socks, pulling pranks on friends, sci-fi movies, conventions, coffee, tea, rainstorms.
DISLIKES: Fighting, losing his temper, missing a deadline, cats since he's allergic, missed calls, tattoos, cold soup, sunburn, smoking, bad dates, ridiculously gory horror movies, posh restaurants, formal events, cocktails, shopping trips, liars, hurting people, burnt toast, dubstep, when people take political correctness too far, being asked about his family, bats, graveyards, thorns, stepping on pins, netflix crashing.
FEARS: rats, cancer, dying somewhere remote.
SECRETS: Jaxon very rarely ever mentions who his father is. The man wanted nothing to do with him and Jaxon wants nothing from him. For that reason he tries to avoid family talk and just shrugs off the mention of his dad, even though stating his name would probably get him further in life than he already is. Jaxon doesn't care about that though. He just wants to live his life and prove to people that he's good on his own terms.
PERSONALITY: Jaxon is a very independent man who wishes to live his life proving to others just how much he can do. He's ambitious and determined and won't let anything get in his way of that.Opinionated, Jaxon isn't afraid to speak up or put someone in their place when he thinks they're speaking out of their ass. He's a loyal friend, but a total joker who is renown for his April Fools and his random pranks that he pulls the rest of the time. He's adventurous and up for trying anything at least once. His travelling choices take him to some extreme and remote places and Jaxon actively works to shorten his bucketlist which is pretty darn long. He's got a short fuse and quite a fiery temper that comes out to play whenever he feels the need to explode, so it's never a wise idea to push his buttons. Generally, he's a good guy but he doesn't always come across as being trusting of strangers. It is true that Jaxon keeps his guard up for various reasons, but he also does his best to try and let people in. He knows that he can't push people away forever. He's not looking for a romantic future, his heart is still moving on, but he's not the easiest guy to date. He'll ask women out without a problem, but those relationships rarely make it past the casual stage due to his connection and relationship with Jacqueline; his ex.MOTHER: Fiona Ann Liddell, deceased.
FATHER: Christopher William Howard, 62.
SIBLINGS: None, but there's a half-sister and half-brother who don't even know he exists.
Jessica Laura Howard, 30.
Brian Christopher Howard, 28.

HISTORY: Jaxon is the bastard son of Lord Christopher William Howard. While not a man most people recognise the name or face of, the manor house in the Yorkshire county is almost impossible to drive by without admiring the building. Christopher lived a rather quiet life with his young bride Elizabeth; a pretty young woman who was keen to have a family and live the life of a lady. They had dinners and travelled to other events where they met with distant relations and talked of grand plans. Christopher never aspired to rise higher in the noble food chain, but Elizabeth did. She attended more events and travelled further while he tended to the estate. During this time they were also trying for a baby. There were hopeful months ruined by no pink line showing up on the stick and doctors began investigating fertility issues. It was stressful for the pair of them who not only wanted children, but needed them to keep the family line going.
It was at this time, during one of Christopher's trips into York on business, that he met the beautiful and bookish Fiona. Irish, by the side of her mother, she had bright red hair and the most adorable freckled face that he had ever seen. She worked in a local pub, pulling pints and dealing the nonsense from the punters. Christopher had only stepped inside for one drink while waiting on someone. In the end he stuck around all night. At closing he was too drunk to go anywhere, but not so drunk that he was too inebriated. Fiona offered him a bed upstairs and he cheekily replied that he'd only sleep in a bed if she was by his side. It was that sort of banter that eventually led to more drinks after the door was locked and then that led to the pair of them sharing a bed and one single night of passion. When Christopher woke the next morning Fiona was gone and he was overcome by guilt and a killer hangover.
Cut to Fiona, a little over a month later. She wasn't the type of young woman who slept with strangers or who flirted with men she didn't even know the name of. So when she started feeling sick and realised that she was a little late than she ought to be, Fiona freaked out. It was the pregnancy test that confirmed her fears. The second she could move from the bathroom floor, Fiona set about searching for the man whose child she was carrying. No one knew him from locally, but Fiona found a photo of him in the paper a week after an event had been held up at the Howard estate. She was mortified, completely unsure of what to do, but she knew that he had to know. Taking her chance at one of the typical open days up at the house, she found a way to break away from the crowds and find him; probably breaking several rules or laws in the process. Christopher, upon hearing the news, was horrified. Here he was, trying for a child with his wife and he had gone off and gotten another woman – a stranger – pregnant! He knew right away that he could have nothing to do with Fiona and the baby. Not just for the sake of his wife and that family, but also for the sake of his extended family. They would be disappointed, ashamed and possibly disown him if they knew of his infidelity.
Fiona, resolved to raise her child alone, did just that. Jaxon was born, given his mother's maiden name and he was raised as an only child. Fiona dated a few men over the years, some serious, but none of them seemed to stay forever. She had always put Jaxon first and would choose her son over anything else. She felt as though she had to make up for his absent father. Whenever Jaxon asked about his father, Fiona initially told him a vague tale of how his father couldn't be with him. Jaxon was eighteen when he found out the truth when Fiona finally felt like she had to tell her son the absolute truth of his parentage. Plus, Jaxon looked so much like his father with just a few traits of his mother breaking through to adulthood. Christopher never reached out to Jaxon, but Jaxon did head up to the estate a couple of times when he knew who his father really was. On one of those trips, Christopher bumped into him and the two shared a moment. No words were exchanged, but it was obvious that Christopher recognised himself in Jaxon. It unnerved him and he left quickly, but Jaxon didn't feel anything towards the man. Oddly he understood, hated, and yet didn't care about how he had grown up. His mother had been fantastic, he had made decent grades in school and was now embarking on a whole new future.
A future that began in St Andrews, Scotland, where Jaxon went for university. It was there that he met Jacqueline and the pair fell in love almost at first sight. They were both in similar classes and lived in the same housing building. Plus, people found it amusing to have Jac and Jax as a couple. Her parents were not too keen on him. He was casual, a bit rough around the edges and unpredictable. Jacqueline's family was French and lived in the South of France expensively. They were from old money and lived like it. They didn't like the thought of their precious daughter running around with some “street kid” who met them for the first time in just a towel. The second meeting was in a local pub where he had shown up in ripped jeans, Converse and a t-shirt that had some form of joke neither could understand and what Jaxon or Jac wouldn't explain. Both times he had the same ridiculous grin on his face and they thought him a bad influence.
However, Jacqueline stuck with him. They were in love. It was their final year of school when Fiona fell sick. Cancer had already spread through her body at a rapid pace and she died just two weeks after seeing her son graduate near the top of his class. Jaxon was devastated and Jacqueline stuck by him through all of that, pulling him up when he needed it. At some point when he was back in York, cleaning out his old house and grieving, news broke about Lord Howard's illegitimate son. Jaxon, to this day, has no idea how it was discovered, but there was a lot of light on the Howard estate and how the family was dealing with the news. They made it through it in one piece, but there were journalists and photographers everywhere in the hopes of finding out who the son really was. Eventually it came back to haunt Jaxon. He had no idea how they got back to him since Fiona had even kept the name off the birth certificate, but it did and soon he was outed as the bastard son of Lord Howard. Jacqueline's parents looked at him differently from that moment, their shallow thoughts seeing nothing but some way in to the royal events or some such nonsense.
Jacqueline offered the escape of New York City. She already had an apartment out there with her family money and it would offer them both jobs. Jaxon had wanted to be an investigative journalist for longer than he could remember and she worked for a fashion house. Jaxon could fade away there and be happy about it. He wanted nothing from his father or that world and instead just wanted a future with Jacqueline. They were in no rush to settle down but instead took grand adventurous trips around the world together. They climbed Everest and Kilimanjaro, did a summer of aid work in Africa, swam with sharks....basically they started crossing things off their bucketlists when they were just twenty-four. They could usually accomplish two things a year, which they thought was pretty amazing.
Life was incredible. Jaxon worked for the New Yorker, Jacqueline's career was shining brightly....they had everything they could want. At twenty-nine, Jacqueline began feeling sick and doctors once again brought the C word into Jaxon's life. This time there was no death. The cancer was caught early and Jacqueline survived. However that survival came at a cost. She realised that there was so much that she wanted to do with her life. The aid work in Africa had been her idea and she wanted to go back to it all to help others. Jaxon supported this decision, but Jacqueline didn't want him to wait for her when she didn't know how long she would be gone. They made the decision to break up, with Jacqueline returning to Africa and Jaxon staying in New York. The break up was crushing for both of them, but amicable. They promised to press on with their lives, remain in touch and to not regret a moment of their relationship.
In the two years that then followed, Jacqueline stayed in Africa, but Jaxon contacted her at least twice a week for chats. They were best friends who still loved each other. He carried on making his name a staple at the paper and he moved on with his life in that way. Dating wasn't such a hotspot. Women were put off by stories of Jacqueline and the connection they still shared, as well as the few photographs he kept in his apartment. He thought it was acceptable; they were the best of friends and their relationship had span over ten years. Jacqueline seems happy and content and he's happy for her, but it's hard to know whether Jax himself is happy. The people around him think that there might just be a piece of him pining for Jacqueline and hoping, waiting for her return. Are they correct?
