PERSONALITY: Darcy was a pretty quiet kid at home, but it was an entirely different story once he was out that front door. He was a Cheeky kid, always talking back to his teachers and just being an all over sarcastic devil. Not much changed as he grew up. Darcy is still that mouthpiece, not giving an inch. His temper runs a little wild but lucky for all he uses his words over his fists. A smart man, Darcy could have easily gone to school to be anything at all but fate had another thought and this goofball found himself in front of Hollywood’s cameras. Darcy wouldn’t consider himself an “A-lister” by any means though his pictures probably grace the walls of quite a few teenagers’ bedrooms. Down to Earth, Darcy doesn’t fancy himself a heartthrob but one look into those baby blues will melt just about any heart. Sweet and charming Darcy will help any friend in need in any way he can. Despite all his good qualities, the man can be quite lazy and he’s got a wonderfully terrible sense of humour. Unfortunately he does get annoyed easily but that’s what the gyms for and he uses them often enough to be on a first name basis with most of the employees. He’s quite athletic and it’s afraid to go for a jog sans shirt in the summer months.MOTHER: Candice Hyde & 53.

HISTORY: Candice and Eric Hyde were high school sweethearts in Vancouver, British Colombia, Canada. They went to the same university after high school, lived together practically right from enrollment and four years later weren’t sick of each other so they thought, why not? They were married in a small ceremony at Candice’s family’s ski resort. It was in the middle of December with snow all over the place but the temperature wasn’t freezing and the balcony of the lodge had heaters so they could comfortably wed outside to a light snow fall. At twenty six, Eric got an incredible job offer, but it meant relocating to New Zealand. He was nervous to bring it up to Candice. But he hadn’t been aware Candice had news of her own; she was pregnant. Darcy’s conception was almost the reason they didn’t go to Thames but after talking it out, they agreed the pay raise would help to raise their child and Candice could teach primary school just about anywhere. So they uprooted and Darcy was born in New Zealand.
Looking back, Darcy thought he had a pretty normal childhood, even if his mom taught at his primary school and he couldn’t get away with anything at all. His teenage years were what anyone would expect; a lot of school, a lot of ditching and a lot of surfing. Darcy was a smart kid; he had the best tutor at home with his mother. He played rugby but his heart wasn’t all that into it. Really he did it because he was a big, intimidating looking guy and he had a bit of a temper on him when it came to certain things people said and the sport allowed him to dispel those aggressions without ending up in trouble with the law. He’d never intentionally harm anyone physically. Darcy had a sharp tongue and used his quick wit and dry sarcasm to toss out his anger but there were days, he could admit when the annoyance more than anger got to him, he jogged, he hit the gym. Both activities helped him think everything through. They gave him the clarity to look at things through a different perspective; which is too often what he needed.
Darcy was seventeen when he and a bunch of friends decided they wanted to go to the big mall over in Auckland. They hopped in the car and drove the hour and some minutes into the big city. While there, the group of them were acting like fools, messing around and playing a game where each of them could only speak in song titles, movie quotes and the like. An agent was there with his daughter and overheard their silly antics and approached the lot, talked to them and handed out his card; if they were interested, they could give him a call, if not, no worries. Darcy called and the next week, he was back in Auckland with his mother, reading over a contract and getting headshots taken. Within a month, Darcy was getting auditions for commercials and print ads, some minor guest spots on television shows; the works. He wasn’t landing them all but for him, it was all just fun and games. He’d never pictured himself a model or an actor so running from audition to audition was funny to him. Getting shot down didn’t hurt him like it did those who desperately wanted to make a living at being a famous face.
After about a year of auditions, call backs, small roles and rejections, Darcy got his big break and from then he was practically a household name. He travelled the world for shoots and promotional things and had a blast with it. But he never got back to school after he graduated high school. Fast forward a few years and Darcy finally decided it was time to get a proper degree. So while he was in New York, he toured the NYU campus and decided right then that he wanted to get his degree there. Immediately he applied to the Anthropology programme starting in the fall and went about getting the proper papers filed, so he could attend the school. He found an apartment he liked and set about getting that ready all before classes started in the fall. Now going into his senior year, Darcy is excited to be so close to graduation. His only concern is that his professor’s won’t allow him to continue his semi-distant education since he hadn’t given up acting.
