DISLIKES: bullies, problems in his class, people crying, the subway – even though he takes it every day, the flu, spiders, sea sickness, crime shows, people he cares about being hurt, peanut butter, gin, people who can't follow simple instructions, having to shout at his students, computer problems, losing chargers for everything, touch screens not responding, getting paper wet, non-crafting days at school.
FEARS: spiders, the vastness of the ocean, never being a dad.
SECRETS: Noel is deathly afraid of spiders ever since he was bitten by one as a kid. It was a harmless bite, nothing serious came from it, but he screamed and screamed and now runs a mile after seeing a spider. He doesn't tell anyone though because his freak outs are just a mighty bit embarrassing to behold.
PERSONALITY: Noel is a ridiculous sweetheart who has a very fun and very childish side to his personality. He's energetic and enthusiastic about almost everything that he does in his life. He's friendly and the kind of guy who will chat to just about anyone. He loves kids, and frequently takes his nieces and nephews from his siblings for days out and sleepover adventures. He wants a big family himself one day. Noel is a curious man who always wants to know more and teach more. He probably spends far too much time on Google searching for answers, and taking classes in things he'd probably never have a need for. He's not a fussy man, but he loves spoiling the people he cares about. Noel could be described as a bit of a dreamer since he does find himself thinking a lot about the future and what it could be like, but he's actually quite a responsible guy, regardless of what he may act like most of the time. He's light hearted and usually the kind of cheerful, optimistic guy who can either make or break someone's day, depending on their mood! He's a peace-keeper rather than a fighter and is the person who will step into a fight to end it and then check to make sure everyone is okay. Caring, Noel isn't one to ignore someone who looks like they've been crying or hurt. He's the guy who takes care of everyone else. He's a little bit of a flirt at times, but Noel is deep down a total romantic who loves the idea of surprising a girl with gifts, date nights and really spoiling her. He likes commitment a hell of a lot more than he likes the idea of meaningless flings or sleeping around.MOTHER: Shauna White-Kiely, 55.

HISTORY: Shauna and Nathaniel went to high school together, but nothing romantic happened between them until after they both retuned to New Jersey after their college years. Then it was a chance meeting that had them promising to meet up properly for a good catch up and coffee. Unlike when people often said they'd do that and didn't, this time they did. And that innocent coffee date led to a real date. From there they took a bit of time to enjoy the relationship before Nathaniel dropped onto one knee and offered the diamond ring to Shauna. They had a small, quiet ceremony that happened fairly quickly after that. Their first child came along a year later, followed shortly after by their second. Their third child arrived after a difficult pregnancy, but everything was well and Noel cane into the world to make his big brother very excited and his little sister cry...she wanted another girl.
As an infant, Noel spent a lot of time chasing his sibling's shadows. They were older and therefore the leaders in games and more often than not Noel simply had to do what they told him to. He didn't argue with them, but a lot of the time they were getting up to all kinds of silly adventures and one resulted in Noel breaking his wrist when he fell from part of the climbing frame in the back yard of their home. Noel loved being the little boy, the baby, but he also wished that he could be the oldest for once and he used to nag his parents for a chance to be a big brother. However, after the turmoil that Shauna's pregnancy had been with Noel, they had drawn the line under him and vowed to have no more children; their family was complete.
When it came time for Noel to start school, that changed slightly. He was one of the older kids in his class, which meant he got to play the “big brother” to everyone else. And he loved it. If a kid fell over and hurt themselves, Noel was the first one there. He tried to stop fights from happening, he gave out the hugs when other kids were crying...it was something teachers fondly told his parents about on a regular basis. Shauna and Nathaniel would just chuckle at the news and joke that now they knew why Noel had longed for a younger sibling. The big brother approach to life was something that stayed with Noel from the first day of class. As he grew up he was still known as the guy to cheer people up and the kid who would always help out when he could. His schoolmates had no problem with him, everyone seemed to get along with him, but Noel was no way in the popular ranks with the football team and those kids who were naturally beautiful just the way high school wanted them to be. He had a small group of friends, a good relationship with teachers and he made decent enough grades in his classes.
He moved to New York for college, where Noel began studying and working hard to achieve his end goal; kindergarten teacher. Noel had known that this had been his dream job since he was just a little boy, but it was something he only shared with a few people in his life. He took to college like most kids; sleepless nights, parties, library sessions to kill...he would say he got the full college experience, including the drama and the troubles that he could probably do without. He was close enough to home that he didn't need to stress about making his siblings' weddings and the births of his nephews and nieces. He could go home whenever he felt like it and frequently did just pop home for dinner, sometimes unannounced.
Some people though that Noel might move back to Newark once he graduated, but Noel had fallen in love with the city and everything it had to offer. With a job soon gained, and an apartment that truly felt like home, Noel had achieved those things he had wanted for himself ever since he was eight. Now, at twenty-six, Noel is content with his life. He heads out in the morning to teach little minds, and then he comes home to usually wash paint off his clothes and skin, and then spend time with his own family or friends. There's still a lot that Noel wants in life – his own family – but he's a patient guy who knows that fate will have a plan for him in time.
