The tree finally blossoms across her shoulders. Half full with foliage to represent the members of her family who are still present, the other half swirling away with the wind over her right shoulder slightly to represent the family gone, but not forgotten. "Carpe Diem" beautifully inked on the top of her left shoulder, to remind her of her mantra to live every day as if it was her last. A very thin and delicate arrow on the inside of her forearm to keep her on the straight and narrow and keep in her mind that whenever she is being pulled back with trials, she is being shot forth into something great. PERSONALITY:
+Caring+
Delilah has never been one to be rude or mean without a reason to. She is kind and genuinely cares about every person she comes in contact with. She will always put others before herself and always gives them the benefit of the doubt. This can be both a bad and good thing, as she doesn't ever see the potentially bad qualities, and is too trusting of them to take the time to think before lending that person some money, or letting someone borrow her car for a day.
+Sassy+
Despite being incredibly kind, Lilah has an attitude. She will slap you in the face with her words, and follow it with the sweetest smile. She considers sarcasm a second language and pairs it with an expression that can make the smartest man feel dumb. She will always stand up for herself, and isn't afraid to let out her hoodrat side. Back in California, her friends used to call her "the Black Lilah" because of her sass and soul. She has the perfect demeanor to hold her own in the city.
+Understanding+
She has always been told she is easy to talk to, since she can remember. People have always spilled their guts to her, and she has never once judged anyone for anything. She wants to make people feel better. As someone that has been through some terribly dark times, she will always want to be a ray of light that may save a life. She just exudes comfort and ease of mind, and will listen to someone vent/cry/unload for hours without saying a word, just letting them get it out. And then she will wrap you in her arms and easily make you feel like you are loved. You could tell her anything and she will not love you any less than she did before, in fact she might love you more.
+Stubborn+
Don't even bother arguing with Delilah once she has her mind up. It is a hopeless endeavor and a waste of breath. She is an immovable object, and there is nothing else to say about that. When she thinks she is right, she's right. End of story.
+Emotional+
Delilah Mae has NEVER been one to hide her emotions, a drama queen since day one. She can go from happy to irate and back in the blink of an eye, leaving nothing but the wreckage behind as proof. She has a hot temper, but as soon as she yells and gets all of it out, the storm is over and she is fine. She never holds grudges, it's not good for the soul. She will cry at a movie, laugh until she can't anymore, and scream and yell with no shame whatsoever.
+Loyal+
No matter what, Lilah will always be there for her friends and family. Even if you haven't talked to her for years, if you come to her needing help, she will never turn her back to you. If you ever held a piece of her heart, you will always hold a piece of her heart.

HISTORY: Delilah Mae Stevenson came into this world on January 21, 1989, the daughter of Lane and Teresa, and the sister of Christopher. The perfect suburban family. Growing up, she spent a lot of time at her grandparent's house with her cousins. She was the only girl in the family, so she didn't have the upbringing a typical little girl should have. Her dad used to call her the "Dirt Princess" because she was always rolling around in the dirt with the boys. She never wanted for anything, and never failed to feel the love people had for her. When she was 5, she was sexually assaulted on multiple occasions by her older brother, but was too scared to tell anyone, so she pushed it to the back of her mind. She was always a social butterfly, and never struggled to make friends. Her Grandfather had died when she was young, but she never knew the actual hurt of a loss. She was never a "Popular" kid, but she didn't care. She was happy with who she was, the chubby weird girl that could care less what the bullies said to her. And then her dad got sick. When she was in 3rd grade, her dad was in the hospital for reasons she didn't really understand for a long time. Mom always kept assuring her that Daddy was just a little sick, and the doctors were making him better.
Come middle school, things got kind of weird for her. She was that awkward overweight drama geek. She hung out with all of the weird kids and lost a lot of her shine. She was embarrassed of her braces, and her looks, she started to get a little depressed. Not only that, but things with her Dad were slowly getting worse and worse. He was in and out of the hospital every other month, and finally she asked her Mom what was going on. When she was young, her Father had an opportunistic virus attack his heart, causing congestive heart failure. This can normally be treated easily by prescribing a few medications and installing an electronic pacemaker to keep his heart beats regular. Lane had 3 separate pace makers installed in the short two years of middle school, and Delilah started high school as a lost individual with no idea what she wanted from her life. She got into the local church scene, hoping that God would comfort the fears she felt about her Father's slowly deteriorating health. For a while, he did. He quenched the thirst that she had for love and understanding. She was able to find community in the high school ministry, and the church became a refuge for her as she watched her family crumble from the inside out. Her Brother, in response to having to become the man of the house at the tender age of 18, turned to drugs, and drinking. Her Mother was consistently verbally abusing her and taking out the stress of multiple issues on this girl who wanted nothing but happiness for her family.
By the end of Freshman year, Lane went into the final stay he would have in the hospital. He received a heart transplant after a miraculously short 10 week stay in the UCLA Medical center. Lilah prayed that her Daddy's newly found health would mend all the broken relationships, but things just proceeded to get worse. Teresa continued to tear the small amount of confidence Delilah could muster down, and remind her what a terrible daughter she was. Lilah again sought shelter in the arms of God, but this time he wasn't answering her prayers. No matter how hard she concentrate, the yelling on the other side of her door was louder than her prayers. She didn't want to leave this new family she had been introduced to, but the pain was too strong after a couple years. At the end of her junior year, she discovered weed and alcohol. She started lying to her parents about where she was going to go drink and smoke with her friends. She formed a sort of double life that no one knew about. She become comfortably numb in her whirlwind of smoke and liquor. She remained Daddy's little Christian Princess when she was around anyone other than her rebel friends. Graduation came and went, and she remained the "Secret Stoner".
Finally, he world crashed when her Mom discovered her stash. There was a lot of screaming and yelling, and he Mom finally expressed how she actually felt "You're biggest mistake I ever made". Delilah was crushed. And it was at that moment, she decided there was more for her than the sunny skies and sandy beaches of Orange County. At the age of 21 years old, Delilah Mae Stevenson uprooted her life and moved to New York City.

SAMPLE:Mika blinked her big brown eyes in response to the rush of light. "Time for school Mika," her Mother said lightly as she opened the curtains. A sigh escaped her plump lips, and she pulled the covers back over her tousled black hair. "NOW MIKA JANE!" A voice bellowed from down the hall. Her petite fram slowly rolled out from under the protection of her zebra print blankets, and she stretched her arms towards the ceiling with a yawn. 18 year old Mika Jane Korinski was anxiously awaiting her graduation day, a short week away. She scratched her head as she walked into the kitchen, "I already passed all my classes Mom, I don't even need to be in class at this point, can't I just miss first period?" "Absolutely not, I don't care if you have 110% in every single class, you will go to your classes, and you will graduate with perfect attendance." Her Mother was such a nazi. She rolled her eyes as she meandered back down the hall into the bathroom. Somehow, she managed to shower, dry her long black locks, and spatter some makeup on her face to make her coffee colored eyes seem even deeper than they already were. She covered her frame in a yellow sundress that perfectly complemented her newly tan skin. It was close enough to summer, she might as well start dressing like it. She ran down the stairs, grabbed a banana, kissed her mom on the forehead and grabbed her keys. She ran out to her White toyota corolla, turned up the Sublime, and departed for her first day of the last week of school. Or so her Mother thought...
