PIERCINGS: They go pretty much all the way up the sides of both ears (about six in each).
PLAY-BY: Vanessa Hudgens!LIKES: Crystals, books, reading, hot cocoa, strong coffee, curling up in front of a fire, a story (any story) that pulls her in, a nice glass of Moscato, dark chocolate, cooking, fancy dress parties, tarot cards/readings, scented candles, helping people find the right book, long baths, knitting
DISLIKES: cold tea, unscented candles, white chocolate, red wine, misplacing her phone, having to bundle up, people who mess up Astrology with Astronomy, Chlorinated pools, terribly cheesy movies, short showers
FEARS: losing her shop, someone breaking into her home, spiders
SECRETS: Bell's parents died a bad car accident when she and her twin brother were seventeen and in their first year of university. They put a clause in their Will that said she wouldn't inherit anything until she finished school. The clause said that they would receive a monthly allowance that would allow them to comfortably until they graduated. Their next three years were paid for immediately upon the reading of the will, as was the rent for her apartment so she didn't need to worry about that. She didn't have time to mourn.
PERSONALITY: Bell is quite the character. She is sharp with a quick wit, sarcastic but still friendly and very sweet, especially to the elderly and the young looking for their first real reads. She loves crystals and tarot card readings and believes in what the cards tell her. She may not love often but she loves wholeheartedly. She loves all things spiritual but doesn't take everything seriously. Life is too short to be a fraud and Bell isn't interested in being that. She's a savvy business person, owning several small businesses but loving The Bell and Book the best of them all. Bell loves to be surrounded by people just as much as she enjoys the quiet of her home at night. She enjoys curling up front of the fireplace to read a new book just as much as she loves running around the city on errands. She's probably not an easy person to live with, her siblings can attest to that, but she's a wonderful person to get into a conversation with. She enjoys the back and forth of a good debate. She can be stubborn which is probably why she's never had a boyfriend longer than a year or two, and definitely never a live-in one. Fate or life threw everything bad at her and yet she's not jaded about love, though anyone who really knew her life would completely understand if she hid away with her fortunes forever and eventually died alone with a bevvy of animals. She is quite the resilient woman.MOTHER: Sandra Piercy & deceased.

Christopher Piercy & deceased.
OTHERS: N/A.
PETS: Hades & Persephone & Scottish Deerhounds!

HISTORY: Campbell Lorraine Piercy, known by all as Bell once she was old enough to make the claim, was born the second in a set of twins, third child overall. Looking back, she would describe the first decade of her life as sunshine and roses. Her family was happy, the children were healthy and life was pretty damn good. Bell and Chris were a bit of a surprise, six years after their older sister came screaming into the world. Michael and Sandra had decided once they realised they were having twins, that they didn't want to know what they were having. They wanted it to be a surprised and that way no one could buy frilly pink dresses or those little blue and white sailor suits. They'd picked a couple neutral names, a couple girly names and a couple names fit for a couple rowdy boys, just in case. They wanted to be prepared, which they were when Sandra gave birth to a boy and a girl. She didn't need to think about it when she held them in her arms. She knew their little boy was going to be Christopher and their little girl needed to be named Campbell.
About a month after the twin's tenth birthday, tragedy struck the Piercy family. Caroline had landed on cheer squad her freshman year and worked her way up to being one of the best on the squad. She loved it and really enjoyed the away games they all drove out to watch, even if they weren't the ones cheering on the sidelines. Their team had won and everyone who was able to was going to some football player's house for the after party. Unfortunately, the car with Caroline and three other cheerleaders never made it to the party. No one knew until the next day when the police finally showed up at the door of the Piercy residence. They were still going through the investigation but the preliminary showed that someone swerved into the lane of the head cheerleader's car, slamming into them and forcing them off the road. The vehicle in question drove off, fleeing the scene. The police promised they were going to find the person responsible for Caroline's and Wesley's death. The head cheerleader, Samantha, had developed a migraine near the end of the game and had asked Wes to drive her car home. She and the other girl, Meghan, managed to survive the accident itself but they were both in ICU with serious, life threatening conditions. Because the other car hit them head on, the impact immediately killed the pair in the front seat. It was devastating for everyone in their family, their school and their entire community. It was a fairly small town, only two real high schools, both of which banded together to mourn and show their respect for the lives lost.
Christopher had decided that morning that he wanted to be a police officer, so he might be able to protect those who couldn't protect themselves and to watch over those who could but still needed help from time to time. Bell didn't know what to think. She'd always been a special little girl, a little more sensitive to emotions and the state of others. She felt it wholeheartedly when someone around her was in a mood other than pleasant. While Chris went to work trying his best to become a police officer, Bell turned to books and the paranormal of sorts to learn more about death and the afterlife. She was a curious child, more prone to grabbing a book and learning about it herself than asking questions. So she learned and became a little obsessed with Tarot cards and learning how to read them, crystals and all the rest. She actually quite liked it and loved doing readings for her brother, the only one who was actually willing to sit through it in her family. Her parents weren't the same after Caroline's death. She'd been the shining star and now their lives were a little less bright without her.
Bell and Chris graduated high school at seventeen but they were accepted into two different universities. Bell, having been accepted to the school furthest away, offered to go on ahead early so her parent's could do the whole dropping their kids off at school with both of their remaining children. UCLA was exactly what Bell thought it would be like. The campus was great, the small apartment just off campus was so incredible, she had no words to describe it. Bell thought it was going to be the perfect place to learn about managing small businesses and get her degree. She hugged her parents and brother and waved them off before going in and unpacking. She had two weeks before classes started, which was plenty of time to learn the area and start on the reading for her courses. Life was pretty great. In LA, Bell wasn't as quirky as she had bee back in Texas. She was actually considered cool because she could do Tarot readings and knew what each of the crystals meant and could offer up suggestions. She had more friends at university than she'd ever had through the first seventeen years of her life.
Halloween rolled around and Bell was already expecting a call from her mother, letting her know when her flight out for Thanksgiving was so she could put it in her calendar. Bless her mother, she was very prepared like that. It was comforting. When she got a call from the house line, she assumed that's who it was. She was not at all expecting her brother's voice, though he had decided in the end to stay home and commute because his housing had fallen through. Chris dropped the news that their parents had found themselves with the same fate as their daughter. The difference was that they'd been in the middle of an intersection, waiting for the traffic to clear to turn when someone flew through, hitting them perfectly on the driver's side and barrel right through them. The truck that hit them had been trying to run from the cops when it happened. It might not have been quite as serious, they might have only lost one parent except their car spun with the momentum and the passenger side hit a pole. The whole scene was horrific and now they needed to take care of everything. Their parents had a lawyer draw up a Will when Caroline had died, seeing how fleeting life could be.
Bell emailed everyone that she needed to, asked for a couple days reprieve so she could go bury her parents and do what needed to be done. She was in shock about it all but still managed to book an immediate flight out of LAX, packed a bag, though she couldn't say what was in it and called a cab to take her to the airport. She wasn't about to ask a friend to take her. It was hard to process and she spent the entire flight in a bit of a catatonic state. Chris was at the airport to pick her up when she landed and off they went back to their childhood home. It was strange, how quiet it was without her mother's laughter and her father's banter. It wasn't until then that she broke down in tears and finally cried. Her brother held her tight, rocking her gently as she purged all those emotions from her system. He ended up carrying her up to her old room, tucking her in and sitting there on the floor, leaning against her bed until she cried herself to sleep. It was horrible for them both. A lawyer showed up at their door the next day to go over the will and what their parents wanted from them. He laid it out that they wanted to be cremated and then buried with Caroline. That was easy enough to agree to. The rest however, was a hard pill to swallow. They were well off so dividing the assets took a lot longer than either of them had really thought. A few hours later, everything was divided between the pair of them with the stipulation that they would receive none of it until after they'd graduated from university. It didn't matter how long it took for them to get their diploma, they would be taken care of financially until they received their degrees. From there, they would have access to their half of the assets and they could do with it whatever they wanted. Bell and Chris both agreed to that as well. Along with a small burial site service and a handful of friends and relatives, Bell and Chris said goodbye to their parents.
She stuck around a couple more days but couldn't stay longer than that. She needed to return to school otherwise the entire term would be a write-off and Bell didn't want to add years to her education than she already needed to. As it was, before she'd gotten the news, she'd applied for a double major so she had twice the workload and needed a couple extra classes in the summer to properly catch up with the programme. It was tough but it kept her mind off of everything that was happening in her personal life. She didn't have a boyfriend so she didn't have that distraction and her friends didn't know about her parents. It wasn't something she should have kept to herself for as long as she did but she couldn't quite cope just yet. Christmas and the rest of the holidays weren't the same but she had Chris and that was all that mattered. Eventually, when she returned to school, she found a support group to go to and talk about it all. It was there, that she'd met her first boyfriend in LA. He was charming and sweet and dealing with the death of his big brother who'd been in the army and hadn't come home. They bonded but it was a bond that wouldn't last. When her four years were up, she was once again single and needed to go back to Texas. She and Chris met the lawyer at his office to sign the paperwork, handing over their newly acquired assets.
Bell honestly thought life couldn't get any worse but of course, it always can. Chris told her during that visit that he wasn't going to join the police academy. Instead, he had enlisted and was shipping out. He'd kept it from her because he hadn't wanted to worry her. She freaked out, of course, terrified that he wouldn't come back. However, she did understand why he was doing it. The police hadn't been so great for them. Whenever they'd had any sort of interaction with the men in blue, it was to tell them that someone else had died. Bell had decided that she couldn't be in Texas anymore. She couldn't stay in her childhood home any more, it was more Chris's than hers and she wanted to see a bit more of the world. She travelled for a bit, gathering stamps in her passport before agreeing to meet with Chris in New York for Christmas a couple years later. He had some time off neither of them had been to the big apple before. It was nice to see that massive tree and go see some shows on Broadway. It was nice and Bell decided right then and there that she was going to stay in the city for a little while. She didn't know what really drew her to it but as she was big on spiritual energy, she figured it was someone telling her to stay there.
Putting down roots was something Bell thought she would do back in Texas but she had worked hard for her degree and once it the idea struck, she cemented it with the real estate agent, asking for a quirky shop or building with an apartment upstairs. It took a bit of time but eventually Bell signed the agreement to a cute and quirky house on a fairly busy street. The main floor had previously been a consignment shop but it worked well for Bell's business plan. She quickly got to work on turning the space into the quaint bookstore and New Age gift shop of her dreams. As it was just her for the most part, it did take her a bit longer but before she knew it, she was having herself a grand opening with offers of free Tarot readings for anyone interested. That first week sales were great and she had tons of suggestions for everyone who came into the shop looking for that something that they couldn't put into words. She was quite good at doing that. Within a year or two, it seemed like her shop became the place to be, to find that special something for that special someone. She did more Tarot readings than ever before. And while she didn't charge for them, she still found her tips jar overflowing after those visits. The Book and Bell quickly became a community staple and almost immediately started being referred to as simply The Bell.
Life was starting to look up for Bell, which in itself should have been a warning sign. Her life didn't stay good for long before something happens. Once again, Bell found herself on the other side of the door from a couple men in uniform. In that moment, she went from having a brother to having no family at all. Her grandparents had all gone, scattered deaths before she'd been born and a few years afterwards. She was too young to remember them. Her siblings were gone, her parents were gone. She wasn't close to either her aunt or her two uncles to the point that she wasn't even sure if she had cousins and she wasn't interested in finding out either. This time, the lawyer flew to her and once again offered condolences. He worked through the Will Chris has made up before he'd joined the military, though it basically just said as long as he didn't have a family, which he hadn't gotten the chance to start, everything that was his was now hers. She signed the paperwork in a daze and spent a good few days locked away in her apartment. A day or two wasn't too bad, especially as she was prone to colds in the winter months but she was usually only out a couple days. When The Bell was closed for over a week, her neighbours started to get concerned. She had a great collection of neighbours who helped her in her time of need, who sat with her while she grieved and who made her smile with little things when she thought how cruel fate could be. She was all alone in the world but she wasn't alone. Shortly after this, she finally admitted she needed help around the shop and hired on a handful of people. She needed a manager that could open or close whenever she couldn't do it and a couple people who could answer questions or direct patrons to the right shelf or collection when she was busy with another customer. She still loved to take care of those first time buyers and those old souls looking for the next Gatsby but the ones in between, who knew but didn't know, could be handled by the three musketeers.
