ROBERT STEPHEN MEYER
FULL NAME: Robert Stephen Meyer.
NICKNAMES: Bobby
AGE: 35
GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Straight.
STATUS: Single.
GROUP: Citizen.
GRADE: N/A.
MAJOR: N/A.
JOB OCCUPATION: Public Relations Officer.HAIR: Blonde, shorter on the sides than on the top, and almost always styled neatly with some wax.
EYES: Blue.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: Surprisingly none.
TATTOOS: A bird on his shoulder.
PIERCINGS: None.
PLAY-BY: Gilles Souteyrand!LIKES: Hot coffee (like scalding hot), starting his day at the gym, veggie smoothies, roast chicken, autumn days, winter nights, Christmas, bright eyes, lounge bars, a good whiskey, people who surprise him, fresh vegetables, vacations to the beach, wall climbing, sea food, unique gifts, sports massages, movie dates (romantic and platonic), seaweed.
DISLIKES: Screeching, scents on his hands (even nice ones!), sugary cereals, when everything becomes political, forgetting his laundry in the machine, hunting, fur clothing, paper receipts, pens being stolen from him, washing dishes by hands, men who think women are objects/should swoon over their every move, being irritated, people arguing around him, hitting his shins on the coffee table.
FEARS: Bats, small planes, uncontrollable fires (and some insanely big bonfires).
SECRETS: He likes spending time in the print room. Something about the copier whirring away and the warm paper calms him. He obviously doesn’t tell anyone because they’ll know where to harass him!
PERSONALITY: Bobby is athletic, and enjoys his time working out probably more than anything else. He’s organised and articulate mostly because his job requires that from him. Away from work he’s more casual and laidback about life. He takes things in, enjoys the little things and rarely gets stressed by his personal life. It’s only work that can make him feel like ripping his hair out. Bobby walks on the sentimental side of life, enjoying all that he can and loves it when something simple and daily can become something special. He’s a pretty relaxed guy, but Bobby isn’t going to let someone walk all over him. He’ll roll with the punches but only to a certain point and then he’ll let someone know that they’re being out of line. As the middle child he’s used to playing the role of mediator, but while he can calmly diffuse a situation without upsetting people, he’ll also be honest and tell someone when they’re being utterly ridiculous or in the wrong. Bobby is something of a romantic, but it takes a little bit of time for him to act on that initial spark. He doesn’t want to open up to someone who is only destined to be a fling or a brief attraction. He likes to take it slow when he’s found someone worth spending time on.MOTHER: Marlene Laura Meyer, 59.

HISTORY: Marlene and Wallace met through their jobs and it wasn’t an immediate attraction either. Marlene was a junior reporter with a local news station and she kept interrupting Wallace’s speech to demand straight answers for the recent scandal of his boss. Wallace was an aide to the guy who wanted to be mayor, but when he was arrested for embezzlement it was Wallace who everyone demanded answers from. After hounding him for days Wallace eventually broke, exclaiming to Marlene that he didn’t know what was happening and that he didn’t care anymore. Seeing that he wasn’t the bad guy, nor did he ask to be put in front of cameras and journalists, Marlene offered to buy him a drink. The drink turned into the bottle and the two got to chatting about how rough their jobs were; much rougher than they expected. Marlene always got the leg work while her more experienced colleagues got to slack off and only tune in when the news was airing. Wallace’s troubles were self-explanatory after everything.
They met up a few more times before they started dating. Marlene helped Wallace get a new, better job, with a charity that helped out disadvantaged families. He had wanted to make a change in the world, but his dance with politics had turned him away from that path. He still had a solid degree in business and pre-law, so he fitted in well at the charity. Helping with the admin side of things and being able to talk families through legal options and problems.
Wallace proposed to Marlene over the Christmas and at the start of the New year she found out she was pregnant. So, they eloped. It wasn’t to do with the surprise pregnancy as much as it was to do with the fact that neither of them wanted to make a big deal. There would always be someone asking questions or demanding more because of their situation. They had moved in together six months prior to the engagement and from that moment people had been demanding rings and babies, and tormenting the young couple.
Ultimately, they would go on to have three children. Bobby was the middle child. He was well mannered like his siblings and often found peace in a tree-house when Olivia and Thomas would fight. They did that often because of reasons Bobby couldn’t fathom. He spent his life playing the peace keeping, maintaining the balance before mom and dad found out there had been trouble. He quickly developed a way with words and his teachers weren’t always sure if they should love him or be wary of the things he said. Bobby wasn’t a liar, but he could make things sound very grand and a little hard to swallow. He probably picked it up from watching his mom work on the TV, and from the people he would see her questioning and then later see having a glass of wine in their kitchen.
Marlene may have been a very vocal reporter, but she was a kind person. After her experience with Wallace she made sure to check on the aides and the spokespeople. Many became friends once they realised it wasn’t a trick to get more information from them. If the family had a barbecue or a party they were often always there. Marlene never took business home with her and once the time was up for the reporters she stopped asking questions. She might call them out on their bullshit sometimes, but she knew their jobs were difficult. It was growing up around these people that opened the door for Bobby to end up in PR.
He was on the debate team in high school; something surprising given that he didn’t fit that stereotype. He was tall and chiselled, a jock who ran track and worked out around his part time job as a lifeguard at the local gym and pool. Working out helped him think and plan, debate allowed him to often execute those thoughts! He was decently liked by both circles he traversed in, but some of the “super popular” kids gave him some grief for the debate team, but Bobby wasn’t the type to let them bully him into quitting. He just called them out on something silly which often made people around laugh and warm to him some more.
After speaking with a careers coach in preparation for college, Bobby decided that Public Relations and Marketing was where he needed to be. He applied to plenty of colleges and was accepted by all but one. However, he chose to go to Penn State. Whilst there he balanced his studies with a small job at a coffee shop and with his friends. He wasn’t some raving party animal, but he enjoyed hanging out and talking about anything and everything. He dated some, overslept some, and generally just experienced college like most people. He graduated at the top of his class, and had a string of job interviews lined up.
Ultimately, he ended up in New York City. He had been stuck between there and San Francisco, but New York was closer to his family and he had actually missed them when he was at college and not able to just go back and see them whenever he felt like it. He started off as a paid intern in a company that did PR for several other businesses. He was the bottom rung member for a while until he handled more important stuff out of the blue when his boss took sick suddenly. After that he looked elsewhere for work. He had grown tired of his first company and how they underhanded clients sometimes. He was too honest to mess with people and the environment could be toxic at times.
He settled in to a new job as the Public Relations Officer for NYU. It was just a team of three, working on various tasks and promotions. He liked it and fell into place there, like he had always been the missing piece of their jigsaw puzzle. These days he’s lead after one went off to raise her family and they got a new team member in. Bobby is the face that gives out official statements and maintains the image if any problems arise. Thankfully it’s not been anything too outrageous and scandalous.
