She nodded slightly and looked around. Anywhere but him. Maybe she shouldn't have said anything like that. She could feel the awkwardness seeping through. "Yeah at least. Found a place." She agreed.
Katrina frowned and took out her phone to check the time. "Eh Dominic? It's getting pretty close for your time limit. You got like 5 minutes." She glanced up at him. "Hey maybe we can go grab lunch another time?" She offered. "My treat!"
She looked away emberessed. Hopefully he didn't think it was a date. Just two friends going out to lunch. That wasnt a date right? Shrugging the blonde turned back to Dominic. "Of course if your busy with school, work, and practice I completely understand." She smiled.

He hadn’t meant for it to get awkward. Dominic just sometimes found himself stuck in a position where he didn’t know what else to say. He was used to socialising with a large group of people, so if he ever did find himself feeling awkward or uncomfortable, there was usually half a dozen other people to help keep the conversation moving on as though nothing had gone wrong in the first place. He didn’t realise how much he relied on them until they weren’t around to help him out of those tricky moments he couldn’t help himself out of. Finding out it was almost time for him to clock on at work was almost like being saved by the bell. Dominic checked the time on the clock hanging precariously on the far wall and then swore underneath his breath. Turning to the counter he smiled over at Hayden and gestured to let her know that he knew the time and that he was on his way over there in the next couple of minutes. He didn’t want her freaking out or else he’d feel terribly guilty and it was the last thing he needed on his conscience. It was also the last thing Hayden needed in her life when she was only just slowly beginning to put the pieces back together again. “Yeah, I should probably get back there already.” He said, flashing Katrina an apologetic smile. There was another blonde who needed his help right now. Hayden needed to get home, get to a place she felt safe before her anxiety bubbled up and caused her to have a panic attack.
He paused, glancing back at Katrina for a moment, thinking the idea over. No harm could come from lunch, and he felt a little bad about letting their conversation turn awkward when it had been kind of fun. Smiling again, Dominic shook his head. “No, lunch sounds like it could be fun.” He said honestly, hoping that he was right, and that there would be no moment of difficult awkwardness. He scribbled his number on a napkin and offered it to her. “Give me a text sometime when you’re free. That’s if you don’t drop your cell phone again.” He teased, his smile turning into a wicked grin.

Her face lit up with a bright smile of amusement. "Yeah I'll do that." She took the napkin and neatly folded it before putting it into her pocket. "Well looks like you need to head out! I'll catch up with you sometime soon." She replied as she turned to leave. "Nice meeting you Dominic!" She called over her shoulder and gave a small wave.
Katrina was pleased; her day had gone from eh to yay. Not only had she got her phone back but also made a new friend! That was alway a plus for Kat. She loved making new friends.
