PERSONALITY: Casimir is a patient and calm man who doesn’t often find himself panicked or stressed by those little things in life. He’s an organised and neat kind of guy, but not anally so. He isn’t going to freak out if the dishes are left until tomorrow, but at the same time he’s not going to leave dirty towels lying around for days at a time. Casimir enjoys friendships that are close and loyal. He prefers small gatherings, and can handle relationships with people who are far away from him. He’s awkwardly charismatic because he’s become accustomed to people striking up conversations with him; a person has to adapt to that, but Casimir is still a slight bit awkward around people he doesn’t know. There’s a chance he’ll put his foot in his mouth, but he can recovery smoothly from it. Frustration gives him a headache. He’s not the type to snap or lose control of his temper, but he keeps it to himself, internalising quite a lot of his negative feelings because he doesn’t want to bother anyone else with them. So often, when he’s annoyed or irritated, he just winds up tired and feeling unwell. As for romance, Casimir is a fan of putting a twist on the traditions. He likes to learn what someone likes and then using that to put a spin on the classics. It’s a way of surprising people when they expect the norm, but he doesn’t consider himself a romantic. He’s careful, likely to meet someone and get to know them before he’ll take the plunge with a relationship. To Cas, it’s important he can laugh with a woman before he can fall in love with her. Having fun and just enjoying the company of someone else is a huge thing for him. He can’t be around people who require constant attention and demand. He dreams of the soul mate idea, but without the big fairy tale story that often accompanies such things.MOTHER: Prunella Kitty Donmoyer, 57.

HISTORY: Prunella and Daveed met at the America Embassy in Vienna. They worked in separate areas doing completely different jobs, but they were instantly drawn to each other. It was love at first sight according to their friends. They were enamoured with each other and quickly fell in love, even with work often keeping them very busy. Daveed worked security at the embassy and Prunella was a chef in the kitchens. They married after just six months, but it was the kind of marriage that was meant to last forever. They didn’t need big explosions of romance, or grand gestures of undying love. They knew how the other felt, and what was happening between them. Life would never not be hectic for them, but they knew that when they fell in love. They had their first son, Alexandre and then waited five more years before the birth of their next child, another boy named Casimir.
Their children were raised with the help of nannies, as both parents had demanding but well paid jobs. Both boys were raised with perfect manners, and the best education money could afford. They went to private school with many of the children whose parents also worked at the embassy. The school was protected with security just in case any of the children were targeted by those who wished to threaten the men and women who held power. Casimir and his brother were not among those kids, but no one took any risks since there was always the chance of misidentification, or someone who didn’t have anything to lose coming onto the grounds. Nothing like that ever happened to Cas’ knowledge, but of course, if the security team did their job then he would never know about it.
Casimir always had a keen logical mind. He loved maths, competed often in school mathematic events and was top of his class when it came to the subject. He could solve sums in his head quickly and without much thought. It was an odd gift, but he enjoyed it all the same. It led to him enjoying logical puzzles, sudoku and other problems that really required an analytical mind. His brother, Alex, was more rounded when it came to a business mind, but Cas was fine with that. He had no desire to compete with his brother. Their parents treated them as equals, praising them equally, and scolding them when it was necessary.
The other thing that made Cas stand out from his peers was his height. He was always taller than his classmates by an inch or so but as his entered his teenage years it was as though the growth spurts would never stop. He was over six foot by the time he was fourteen. His father, Daveed was 6’3, and his brother had come to stand at 6’2, but Cas quickly towered over the two of them when he was sixteen. His doctor at regular check-ups reassured his mother that Casimir was perfectly healthy, but simply tall. Daveed said that his family was tall, but they were all still in America, scattered about the country like the free spirits they had been. None were as tall as his son seemed to be getting, but so long as he was healthy they could be happy. They had to start having his clothes custom made when Casimir finally reached 7ft tall, but thankfully that was where he seemed to stop growing. His height had made him a perfect candidate for the school basketball team, which was good because it was the only sport Casimir had taken an interest in over his childhood and teenage years. Daveed had wanted his sons to take up at least one sport during school purely for the physical benefits of it. Alex had been keen enough to dabble in whatever he could touch, but Casimir only liked basketball after a few mild accidents when Alex had hit him with sports equipment when they had been much younger.
It was with a basketball scholarship that Casimir ended up moving to America. He was offered a spot at UCLA, and didn’t want to pass up on the opportunity. He studied business and finance, especially interest in finance since he had been so good and promising at maths in his youth. He played for the school for the four years he was there, and then graduated with job offers for various places and positions. What appealed to him most by that point was the idea of becoming a Financial Actuary. He liked weighing up the risks against the probabilities. There was a lot of statistics and numbers to throw around and that was exactly what Cas loved about numbers.
He moved out to New York, where he initially started working for a business there that needed help with their market decisions. After two years, Cas took the plunge and with a small business loan, started his own self-employed business. That way he could move around from businesses helping them make big decisions when they needed it. Since a lot of Actuaries were kept on retainer and not needed 24/7, it meant he got to see more, try more, and it kept his mind from going stale pumping the same numbers and working with people who may not always take his advice. Plus, not every business needed him permanently depending on what their moves were. Eventually, Cas could hire three more actuaries to work with him. They kept a small, modest office in the city since they were rarely working from there. They had two secretaries, and monthly meetings to deal with any complications or personal matters, but everyone had their own clients and matters that they could mostly handle alone.
Now, Cas is thirty and living comfortably in the city that never sleeps. He keeps in close touch with his family, going home for holidays. There are a few school friends who he still talks to as they also live stateside now, too. He’s happy, pleased with what he accomplished for himself and where everything in his life is heading. It’s simple, but it works. That’s what matters to him.
