FEARS: The hospital becoming a bad place, spiders, having to go under the knife again and not waking up this time.
SECRETS: Bowery actually likes hospitals. A lot of good things happened to her in one. She doesn't know what it is about the buildings but they calm her down, which is the real reason she volunteers her time with the kids there. She fears though, that if she spends too much time, she'll start to hate them and she doesn't want that, which is why she didn't go into nursing like she'd planned.
PERSONALITY: Bowery has a wild and free outlook on life. She'd nearly died a couple times in her lifetime so she's taking advantage of all that she can get her hands on. She loves a good fight, arguing is her relaxer, lounging around on the couch with a book makes her stir-crazy and though she does love to read, she has to be doing it whilst doing something, anything else. She's a bit of a mess when it comes to cooking; she can't. She burns water but tries hard. She was born with a heart defect that meant a lot of surgery so she is quite the fighter and enjoys the fight. And because that last surgery gave her a new heart was only a few years before, she's still living at home with her parents. It's good to have them around. She's not at all naïve, thinking life will be some grand ball and her Prince Charming will sweep her off her feet but she's willing to work and fight for it; as long as the poor man whose heart she stole away from him enjoys the fight just as much. Bowery doesn't let her heart issues slow her down. She's a brilliant young woman with a quick wit and a sarcastic tongue. She's also aware life is not as long and smooth as people want to believe so she's a loyal friend and enjoys the company of other people. She doesn't have an overly romantic side but a girl loves a bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates every once in a while.MOTHER: Pandora Maine & forty six.

HISTORY: Pandora and Grayson met in kindergarten. Pandora was playing with the superhero figurine and Grayson wanted it so he pulled her pigtails. Pandora turned around and punched him so hard in the arm, he cried. It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. She constantly teased him, he constantly picked on her. It was the same through out their entire lives. Bets were made when they'd turn their friendship into something more but each time it was brought it up, it was brushed aside, claiming they were more like siblings to think of each other that way. It wasn't until they were away at university, both having been accepted to Columbia that things between them changed. They opted to get an apartment together instead of moving into the dorms, figuring between the pair of them, it would be cheaper. After about six months, a girl from Pan's Psych class moved in with them and the following semester a buddy of Grayson's moved in as well to cover costs better. It was a good set-up and it worked out well for them all. A night out led Pandora and Grayson back to the apartment ahead of everyone else, where they fell onto the couch to watch a movie. Neither of them can quite remember what happened next, who instigated what but Pandora was pulled atop Grayson's chest and that was the beginning of their relationship. As it turned out, their roommates had been having a secret fling for months and the move to switch up the rooms was an easy choice to make.
More parties, more classes and sooner rather than later, graduation came and went. A proposal came and a marriage went by happily in a flash as well for Pan and Gray. Fast forward two more years and they surprised their families once again with news of a baby this time. The first, finding out they were together had been met with shocked cheers and I told you so's but the second was met with excitement and happy squeals of joy. The pregnancy went pretty smooth and Pan had no complications through the birth. It had even been a smooth and surprisingly quick process. From there however, their dream turned into a nightmare. It wasn't completely rare, with neither parent showing signs of issue but Bowery was born with a heart defect. Both parents couldn't quite understand what the doctor's were saying except that their newborn baby would need immediate surgery and probably a couple more as she grew up. It was of course, a lot to process and they were both so thankful that the doctor's and nurses were so understanding of their difficulties understanding that their perfect baby girl was in so much danger and that they'd had their parents handy to get the information they couldn't process.
The next six years were filled with constant hospital visits and two more surgeries to repair this and that. That sweet little girl was a fighter however and each time, she seemed to bounce right back. They all thought she was good to go and though they had strict instructions to follow, she was free to live her life. She couldn't play sports but she didn't really mind and she couldn't do a whole lot but there was also plenty she could do. She loved to read and draw and would draw out the scenes she'd read from books, the way she thought they should be. She was never far away from any sort of drawing or writing utensil and paper. The hospital visits became less frequent though were still a thing in her life and eventually she was even allowed some minor physical activity, though she didn't overexert herself. She took care but she didn't go overboard. She didn't tell people she had heart issues or any issues at all and she continued on doing what she loved. She took on an advice column in the school newspaper when she hit high school and took part in the yearbook. She took drama classes because they were pretty safe and she took all the art courses she could get her hands on.
Life seemed to be going pretty damn great. And then she collapsed in the middle of the weekly newspaper huddle. Teachers were called, an ambulance showed up almost immediately, her parents met them all at the hospital. Her heart had gotten progressively worse very quickly. She'd been fine at her last cardiologist check up but that had been nearly six months beforehand, in fact she was due for her next within a few weeks. She was going into heart failure. Without missing a beat, they had her attached to all the tubes and wires, had the machines beeping and working for her. And as she was a stubborn one, not willing to let the condition she'd lived with for seventeen years get to her, Bowery continued to do her homework from her hospital bed. She continued to write her column and so all the things she would have been doing if she were still in classes. Her teachers wanted her to take it easy, to just get better but she wasn't willing to miss the time and fall behind. There was plenty she could do when she was feeling up to it. She was bumped right to the top of the list so the next heart that came through would be hers, providing it was a match. As her blood type was quite rare, it took two weeks to get the call and her doctor came running into the room with the exciting news. It was like something off one of those medical dramas on television.
Bowery was put under and, for her, it felt like minutes but was really hours she woke up with a brand new heart and a room filled with flowers and balloons, teddy bears and cards. She hadn't thought she'd impacted that many people, since she'd never been a jock or really all that popular but she had never been the type to settle into one group either. She'd never been able to be label a jock, nerd or band geek because she got along with them all quite easily; which meant that she had friends all over the place at that school. And once word got out of what happened, why the ambulance was really there, gifts, visitors and well wishes came pouring in. It was great to know that she had so many people in her corner. She was in hospital for another couple days and then she was allowed to go home with very strict instructions. She fought school not being an option. She wanted to finish out the year since there was still some left. She was part of so many extra-curricular activities that she wanted to see them through. The doctor's agreed if she stayed in one room and didn't go traipsing around too much, she should be fine. She wasn't entirely healed up and it would take some more time but Bowery was a stubborn girl and she wanted to continue her life as it was.
She finished out her senior year on a happy note of having been able to graduate because she hadn't been about to give up. She'd already applied for schools and had offers from all sorts of places. She hadn't been able to check out campuses but she figured she'd stick close to home and attend NYU. She was a Manhattan girl her whole life and she would always be one. Just before her twenty-first birthday, Bowery made an appointment with her doctors because she wanted them all there to get the full answer. She wanted a tattoo but wasn't sure if she was allowed and making an appointment with all four of them individually was a pain in the ass so she grouped them at the hospital and spent an hour with them going through everything. She was still having frequent appointments with the lot of them so it wasn't anything new or surprisingly. The content however was and after some discussion, they all agreed that she could do it. They probably should have told her to take it easy, that she could only have a few and to make them count but they didn't and within the next year, she went wild at Three Kings. She couldn't decide whose work she liked best so she booked appointments with them all and kept that up, working with the entire lot of them here and there to add more. At twenty two, Bowery graduated once again, this time with a degree in Graphic Design. Straight out of school, she'd started working full-time for the same company she'd done her work experience with, BSE Advertising, currently only as a graphic designer though she's heard that won't last long and she's excited to see what will come next for her.
