PERSONALITY: Rosie is a very determined woman who has decided to take a different path in life suddenly. This change has been due to receiving a diagnosis of Trigeminal neuralgia. The chronic pain and treatment plan made her realise that she wanted to do more than just exist. Stepping back is something she needs to do and has decided to make a priority, as well as pursuing something she only ever dreamt of since she was a little girl. Strong willed and very stubborn there’s no way to talk Rosalie out of something once her mind is set on it. She radiates confidence, and isn’t the type to shy away from a thing; in fact people typically have to drag her back and distract her so she won’t do something she will eventually live to regret. Rosie internalises everything. She doesn’t talk about her feelings very much, and is known for always being ‘fine’. She has a way of shouldering more than she has to, and trying to deal with everything herself. There’s a guarded side to her, and Rosie has a habit of letting her temper push people away when she’s scared of them getting too close to that soft caramel centre of hers. She’s terrified of disappointment, and hates to be the person who is wrong. When it comes to love, she’s been stung by Cupid’s arrow, and now tries her best to dodge every shot. She wants to focus on herself, but at the same time she’s scared of spending the rest of her life alone in the big farmhouse she’s currently renovating. Flings and casual relationships were a thing of her youth, but Rosalie isn’t sure what she needs in her future right now. She’s funny and sweet in her own kind of way. For a long time she’s been underappreciated, and while she doesn’t realise that because she’s hiding the broken parts of her damaged heart, it’s time that changed.MOTHER: Angelique Helena Love, 56.

HISTORY: Angelique and Neville lived a comfortable life in Ravenswood, which was where they had grown up together, friends since childhood. Their relationship and marriage came as no surprise to anyone. They had been close for as long as anyone could remember, the friends who were always destined to be better as a couple. It was only about time when they finally got together. They settled down in a small house, perfect for their small family. Rosalie was born first, and a few years and a renovation later Asher was born.
Rosalie was raised with good values. Family came first, and working towards a good future was also very important. She was encouraged to do well at school, bad grades needed to be explained, and extra study was needed when grades slipped. Angelique and Neville had worked hard to build their stable life and they wanted their kids to have the same success. They didn’t want to see them slack off, end up somewhere in the gutter and all because they didn’t do enough to raise them right. Rosie especially worked hard, took on extracurricular activities, and made sure to do all that she could to fill her record and shelves with achievements. She was captain of the volleyball team, worked on the school newspaper, and did the yearbook for her senior year. She made A’s and B’s in her classes, and chose to go to an excellent college in California. She was popular enough amongst her classmates that no one bothered her, but at the same time she wasn’t so popular that she was part of the Queen Bee clique that ruled the corridors. It was how she liked it. Rosie hated the drama that came with being a teenager; the crushes and the backstabbing of being best friends with someone. Part of her loved every moment of high school, but there was another part of her that couldn’t wait to get away and start college.
When she got to California and moved into the dorms at Berkeley, life was great. She was studying Business Management and Finance, and it was in her class that she met Calvin Jameson. He was a few years older, but he helped the professor with the freshman class. They started flirting almost immediately, which took Rosie by complete surprise. His position was totally voluntary though so no rules were broken when they officially became a couple. Rosie was head over heels for Calvin, and they quickly made plans to spend the rest of their lives together. They finished their college educations and moved to New York where both of them had found work.
They had a nice apartment on the edge of Manhattan. Rosie got a job as a project manager for a small but rising firm. Everything was fantastic for the young couple. They travelled to the places they really wanted to see, and they spent time together planning out the future they both dreamt of. They spoke of their future, the dreams they shared, and the life they wanted to live in twenty years. Everything was great. Rosie was honestly chatting to her friends about her plans for a family and how she thought Calvin might be planning to propose. They had been together for close to ten years, enjoying their twenties and working hard to save up for their future. Rosie got sick though. She started experiencing extreme pain in her face. At first she thought it was a wisdom tooth coming through, then perhaps a migraine from overworking herself. It was relentless, coming and going without warning. She saw dentists, doctors, and for the longest time no one knew what to do. They just kept running tests and prescribing her with pain relief that barely worked for the pain, but knocked her into a zombie state. Everything deteriorated in her life. She didn’t go out as much, was frequently off sick from work, and kept pushing Calvin away. He was adamant that the pain couldn’t be so bad and she was hurt that he didn’t see she was suffering. Eventually, one appointment she was handed the diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia. They were going to try her on medication to see how it went. She came home from that appointment, feeling hopeful for the first time in a while, and found Calvin in the shower with a pretty redhead from downstairs. A neighbour Rosie had entertained several times at dinner and parties. She flipped out, discovering that this was something that had been going on for months behind her back. She spiralled into a dark place, losing her job as a result when she didn’t show up for three weeks without calling, costing them a huge contract in the meantime. She wouldn’t reach out to anyone. Eventually it was her brother, Asher, who drove to the city to find out what the hell was going on. He broke the door down to get to her, and practically dragged her back to the family home in Ravenswood. She spent a year on antidepressants and speaking with therapists, figuring out her life. In the end she decided that she was going to live for herself, throwing away the ideals that she had been raised with. Financial security had been nice, and the city was a wonderful place to be, which is why she headed back to New York, but she shunned the apartment life.
Instead, Rosie found a farm. It was run down, a long way from working, but it meant she got it at a cheap price. The previous owners had been an old couple, died just a few weeks apart and then the estate had been tied up as the relatives argued over it all. By the time an agreement was reached, the place was worse than it had been when the couple passed. Unafraid of a hard job, Rosie hired country boy Weston Highmore to help her out. He was good for steering her in the right direction, and eventually he became a good friend to the woman who was starting her life anew. The flare ups of TN were frustrating, but she did her best to hide them while continuing treatments and trying out therapies offered to her to relieve the pain. She would likely have it for life, but Rosie was resigned to that. What she wanted now was for everything to be how she imagined it could be. Her city life had been an idealistic expectation, but this farm was her true idea of freedom. It was her project and she hoped to turn it around. There was a lot of work to be done, and as she celebrated her twenty-ninth birthday, they had a greenhouse repaired, and half of the downstairs of the farmhouse. Still there was so much to do, but her hope wasn’t wavering. She could make a life out of this, even if the rest of the world thought she was crazy for ignoring her career and chasing this ridiculous dream of a little girl who used to stare of the windows on long car rides.
