PERSONALITY:
Bella (as she prefers to be called) is one of the most stubborn people you will ever meet. Paired with her hot temper, she can be a bit of a handful at times and often finds herself reluctantly apologizing for something she said when her nerves were on edge and she was snapping at people without meaning to. She’s got a habit of trying to be more independent than is probably good for herself and doesn’t like to accept help unless she absolutely needs it, except when it comes to cooking; in that department, she readily admits defeat and lets her husband take over the kitchen.
All that aside, Bella is very confident with herself, a trait no doubt brought about by her chosen career path. She isn’t afraid of walking into a room and demanding attention or respect; in truth, she relishes the feeling of having people’s eyes on her and lives for the stage that has become half her life. She has a horrible habit of striving to be in the middle of the spotlight always, leaving her a bit self-centered though she tries so hard to extinguish that part of herself.
Away from the theatre, she is witty and smart, priding herself on having a college degree that she worked her butt off for. Her heart is also overflowing with unending love for her family and husband, and she tries her hardest to be a great mom and wife. They keep her grounded in a professional world that is anything but, and she couldn’t be more grateful for the home she has established for herself. She works hard at her balancing act of a life and makes mistakes along the way, but that stubbornness won’t let her give up and she is determined to have everything, no matter how much sleep she loses in the process.MOTHER: Andrew John Curtis & 50.

HISTORY:
On a sunny afternoon in May, Andrew and Marianna Curtis welcomed their second daughter into the world. They named her Arabella, the Dutch word for "beautiful." Arabella hated her name for a lot of her younger years, simply because it was a lot different than those of her friends but her older sister, Karilena, had to suffer through it with her, which was a comfort. Their younger brother was the only one who was graced with a normal name, and Bella often envied him for that. It never broke the close, motherly bond that she had with him and she figured nothing ever would. With the large age difference between them, it was easier to feel more protective and help out more with her brother. Karilena would always be her confidant, however, and still is to this day, even if she's on a whole different continent.
All three of them grew up in the lap of luxury, being spoiled with whatever pleasure they wanted. They attended private schools in Milwaukee for most of their life, and dealt with many of the snobby kids who inhabited those places. After a few years of being teased by her name, Arabella finally decided to go by Bella and it’s stuck since. While she did blend into the ranks of rich private school girls, one thing made her stand out from them: her love for anything involving performing. Bella loved to sing, act, and dance, and took lessons in both piano and guitar at an early age. It helped to pacify her hunger for the stage, but only slightly. She was constantly begging her parents to take her to auditions for silly commercials or local theatre productions, eventually landing small jobs and spiraling herself into the world of performing.
Through out middle and high school, Bella could be found practicing and hanging out with the performers at the local theatre. It was her favorite place to be after school hours and one that her parents usually had to pry her away from. What drew her there was the professional atmosphere, and the fact that none of them were afraid to correct her or say she was wrong. In the school productions, directors often let her do her own thing because she knew what was going on but at the community theatre, she was the least experienced and so learned so much from the older actors around her.
But, 8th grade year all of it was ripped away from her. The friends, the fun, and, most importantly, the chances at a career. Her father announced that his company was transferring him to London. At first, Bella thought it was horrible and cruel to make them all move that far away from Milwaukee, but she later found that it wasn't all bad. The people in London were kind and she quickly fit into her prep school, falling in love soon after with one of the popular boys in the school. It made sense, though; she starred in the plays and musicals, earning popularity herself, making the two of them one of the top couples of the school. Of course, that had its bad points, too. Like the fact that almost every girl in school wanted her boyfriend. It didn't bother Bella at first, because she believed Linkin Mountgomery and her had a close bond, one of true love. It didn’t last for more than a few months before he turned abusive, verbally assaulting her whenever he had the opportunity. His harsh words destroyed the fragile confidence that was already teetering on unstable with high school hormones rushing through her veins. It left Bella broken in so many ways, making her unable to trust people and implanting an unending list of doubts into her mind that she continued to carry with her throughout her college life.
And then she met the one person who changed it all.
Marc Delabarre captured her heart the moment they met in the park, after Gemma had stumbled into the French man on the grass. There were sparks between him and Bella since that second, and they haven't died at all since then. They dated through the rest of her college years, getting on like a pair of turtle doves. Arabella had planned on staying in London with Marc for the rest of her life, never even thinking of leaving the country for something else. Of course, her career choice made that smack her in the face the year she graduated.
One of her professor's friends was an actress who worked in New York, one who just happened to believe in Bella's talent. She offered the young lady a job in New York City as her assistant, pushing the fact that she could help Bella get her name out in the theatre world. It was too amazing to pass up, and the overwhelmed girl knew that, but if she took it, it would mean leaving London, her family, her friends, and, most importantly, her boyfriend behind. It was a hard choice to make, but an opportunity Bella knew she'd never be offered again. So, she took the job and the chance at possible fame.
It was impossible for her to break up with Marc, though. She couldn't, wouldn't, do it. So, instead, she gave him an offer, as well: to come live with her in New York. Bella couldn't believe his answer when he did give it, seeing as it was a ‘yes.’ It shocked her, making her fall for him all over again in that single day. They moved out to New York and faced challenges that almost tore them apart, like Marc discovering the six-year old son that completely turned both of their worlds upside down. It was a shock and it took Bella awhile to adjust, costing her a job that could have completely changed her career but would have also forced her into sacrificing the boys that she couldn’t picture her life without now.
Laurence stole her heart as her and Marc found themselves working as a patched-together family. Bella had never expected to be a mother so young, but the charming little man made it easy and she fell into the role of his mom with more mistakes than she could possibly imagine, though she tried her very hardest to do her best. It took a while, but they found their footing together and Bella proudly stood at Marc’s side with plans on never leaving it again.
As they got settled, she pushed herself even harder to make up for the fact that she knew she would never be happy with only a family; she needed the stage in her life, and she would do whatever it took to revive the career she’d been working endlessly for. She balanced her mommy duties, her boyfriend, and her job as best she could, but it was hard; it remained difficult for her to keep everything in line, no matter how organized she tried to be. Yet somehow, in the middle of it all, she found herself engaged and married to the man of her dreams, saying ‘yes’ to his proposal without a second thought. Marc was her everything; she had been planning on spending the rest of her life with him for years, and beginning that journey was more exciting than any open night show.
So, they lived and they loved, working and raising Laurence while creating the foundations of a marriage that was about as unconventional as the couple themselves. Before she knew it, Bella was nailing auditions and making a bit of fame for herself on Broadway with her name up in lights and her heart skipping beats with joy as she finally succeeded in what she’d always dreamed of doing.
And then she got pregnant, placing a bit of a halt in the career that was running away faster than any freight train. She had been happy to be carrying Marc’s baby, but it had also forced her into a decision she had faced once before: family or the stage? She had chosen family before and it had made her so indescribably happy, but it had resulted in her losing her theatre life for what felt like forever. It was hard, but she gave birth to the little baby girl who stole her heart even more than Laurence had and Bella’s choice was made easy the first moment she saw her daughter: she would give up the sun and the stars if it meant her family would be happy, so that’s just what she did.
She took two years off Broadway to raise her daughter and, in addition, be more present in Laurence’s increasingly hectic life. It killed a piece of her soul to be the stay at home mom for so long, but being there for Marc and her children made up for it tenfold. Bella was happy being a mom and wife; she loved every moment of the never dull job of having children. Still, she yearned for the stage and, once the time finally came and she couldn’t stand any more soccer mom meetings, she booked an audition.
It’s been a slow process coming back, but Bella is gaining ground in the Broadway world again and using whatever previous connections she can find to get her name on playbills once more. She is there for her children as much as she can be, trying to catch fleeting moments with her wonderful husband in between. The fire is back in her eyes; that spark that made her who she truly was: an actress who fell in love and continuously faces the battle of choosing the stage or her family.
