PERSONALITY: Draven is a guy who is into his fitness, but in a fun way. He does it for his own pleasure, and likes to challenge himself with mud runs and obstacle courses for charity. He’s mostly a quiet guy who will only speak when he has something to say; he doesn’t consider himself to be all that interesting to talk all the time about anything and everything. Draven is observant, and quickly notices even the slightest of things. He likes to study people and their habits, so he’s fast to pick up on the tiniest quirks. He’s a movie buff and he prefers a trip to an old cinema over a night club where he can’t hear himself order a drink. He enjoys his own company quite a bit, just because he’s a deep thinker, and it’s nice for him to step away from the crazy bustle of the city life to just be alone and get things done or relax. He prefers not to be a fighter, and people tend not to bother him, too much. He’s a patient man. If all hell broke loose he could easily defend himself though. He’s not the best when it comes to girls and dating, but he’s a sweet guy who knows how to treat a woman. He knows his own story and he won’t be some unknown face, some one night mistake. Draven wants to be someone special for someone. So, he works hard when he likes someone, and that can be a little too much at times, but he would prefer to show his interest than be one of those guys who sleeps around just to reach some kind of quota.MOTHER: Trisha Schuler, deceased

HOMETOWN: Pascagoula, Mississippi.
HISTORY: When Trisha came home and told her mother that she was pregnant, Mo exclaimed that she was too young to be a grandmother. Then again, she had been young when Trisha was born. It seemed to be a family trait. Trisha’s father had taken off at the idea of responsibilities, and this time around Trisha didn’t know who the father was. It was some guy she met at a rock concert and then never saw again. It wasn’t her proudest moment, but Mo was a strong mother who had raised a strong daughter. There was nothing they couldn’t get through together. They figured that Trisha hadn’t come out of life a complete failure, so they could muddle through and raise the little boy Trisha gave birth to the following September.
Draven had a loving childhood. It was a little bit wild at times, since his mother sometimes felt like she couldn’t cope or was missing out, but his grandmother was an entirely different story. Mo Schuler was an animal print wearing firecracker, who had her make up looking professionally done every morning, and who could walk for hours in heels that would cripple most women after just one. She was a skinny tall creature, who was loud and knew just about everyone who she met on the street. As she got older she played bingo and went to the casino once a month with her friends from a community group that gossiped more than they helped the community. However, she took no nonsense from anyone, and when it came to her family she would be right at the front to protect them. It almost broke her when Trisha was diagnosed with an inoperable, cancerous tumour when Draven was ten. The end came fast as the disease took over her system, but Mo was strong, and taking in her grandson was no hardship. She taught him to be tough, and if anyone gave him grief she was threatening the kids, the parents and any other relatives that lived within the driving distance for her old mustang.
Draven was the kid with the scary or cool grandmother. He just thought everyone was like that, but life showed him quickly enough that he was so very wrong. In school he was quiet, and teachers often let him get away with that because of his mother’s death. That only lasted until high school though when it was a different game entirely. Draven was something of a loner, a drifter. He didn’t see where he would fit in, but he got along with a good amount of his classmates. He enjoyed being in his own company, and although he loved sports and working out, he wasn’t one for being part of a team. Draven slipped into his own thoughts quite a lot and it could be difficult to pull him from them sometimes. Still, he had an enigmatic allure that drew girls to his locker when all he wanted to do was switch textbooks. He dated a little bit, but he wasn’t looking for that serious romance when he was still wearing a retainer to sleep in, and fighting with a razor in the bathroom.
Mo encouraged him to get out and see the world – as long as he came home often. She pointed out that while she was happy with her life it had been her choices when she was young that held her here, and how it could have been exactly the same for his mother. She knew Trisha wanted her little boy to break the pattern their family had been repeating, and so she pushed Draven to step out of his comfort zone at every opportunity so that he would be more inclined to take a leap when it came to college. He applied across the country, but ultimately accepted a spot at NYU to study psychology. He had been an avid people watcher all of his life, and Draven wanted to explore that further. He wanted to know what made people act like they did, think what they thought and generally understand the human mind better. He found it all completely fascinating.
New York amazed him, and Draven was dragged home often to allow Mo to boast about her ‘genius’ grandson. He felt more confident at college than he had in high school, and he was able to come out of his shell a little more often. A junior, he still prefers his own company sometimes, but he’s got a lot better at forcing himself out into the world to actually socialise and not just study people.
