ANDROMEDA CALLIOPE GARVIN
FULL NAME: Andromeda Calliope Garvin.

AGE: Twenty-six
GENDER: Female
SEXUALITY: Straight.
STATUS: Single.
GROUP: Citizen.
GRADE: N/A.
MAJOR: N/A.
JOB OCCUPATION: Esthetician.HAIR: Dark brown, long, naturally straight, but Andromeda will play with the style when the mood strikes her and try different things with it. It can be up one day and down the next.
EYES: Blue.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: She has a few around her right wrist from accidentally putting her fist through a window when she was fourteen. Not deep or big, but the glass cut her hand and wrist up and with moving her wrist so much for day-to-day reasons, those particular cuts never healed well.
TATTOOS: None – tattoos remind her of her dad, and she doesn’t want to be like him.
PIERCINGS: Ears once.
PLAY-BY: Starlie Cheyenne Smith!LIKES: Makeup, bold fashion choices, rock music, ocean views, city life, chocolate doughnuts, dogs, pampering herself, nightclubs, text messages, movies, dresses, fruit water, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, fresh cream, shopping, decorating her apartment, being up high, silky pyjama sets, black tea, garnets.
DISLIKES: Her father, feeling like the black sheep, mood swings, soda, snobs, bitten down nails, her acne breakouts, dirty makeup brushes, sharing personal products, salted popcorn, beer, drinking warm water, feeling tired, pageant moms, flowers (she’s got real bad allergies), ladders in her tights, confined spaces, dirty kitchens.
FEARS: Other people’s dirt on her ‘essentials’, suffocation, her dad ruining her life even now.
SECRETS: Her dad was on the FBI’s Most Wanted list for ten years for a series of murders and robberies in a suburban area that took place after he lost his wealth to dodgy investments. He was eventually caught and is appealing his Death Penalty conviction in Missouri. Rome has cut his last name from her own, and pretends she doesn’t have any connection to the man who contributed to her DNA; the rest of the family appears to do the same.
PERSONALITY: This stunning creature is very stylish, but Andromeda doesn’t come without her insecurities. She often isolates herself as a defensive technique when she’s feeling blue, and her moody nature can switch in a matter of seconds, making her go from a helpful young woman, to a mega bitch with no real warning for it. She’s very secretive, and keeps a great deal to herself. Andromeda is also very clean and while her habit of saying ‘no’ to people might seem rude and blunt, it’s because she’s very specific about that cleanliness; people can’t share her bottles, or brushes, or touch something that she’s putting on her face or in her mouth, for example. She can be outspoken at times if she’s not got a friend around to reel her in, and while she herself lives what appears to be in extravagance, Rome actually can’t stand those who flaunt their wealth like it’s not a big deal. In many ways she considers herself one of the little people, because she feels so out of place most of the time. Rome is bitter easily, and it doesn’t take much for jealousy to rear its ugly head and make her act impulsively, although she’s the type of girl who has a hard time saying sorry. Andromeda has never experienced a good relationship. They’re either intentionally short and flirty, full of sparks, but meant to burn out fast, or they end when the guy realises that there are layers to Andromeda and she’s not going to be opened up very quickly. For this reason, she’s hesitant when putting herself out there; she wants love, but isn’t sure if anyone will ever be ready for her, or her complications.MOTHER: Elisabet Noreen Brody, deceased.
FATHER: Jamie Garvin-Brody, 61.
SIBLINGS: N/A
OTHERS: THE COUSINS
PETS: Pharaoh, Sphinx Cat!
HOMETOWN: Belle Meade, Tennessee.
HISTORY: Elisabet was truly under Jamie’s thumb from the moment she met him. She was a shy young thing, the youngest of the family, and used to being left behind while the others flourished in the spotlight. Jamie swept her off her feet with grand plans and big promises. They married shortly after they discovered they were expecting a daughter, and Jamie bought a house in Belle Meade, Tennessee for their family. It was further away from her family than Elisabet would have liked, but Jamie had business ideas, and plans already in motion out that way. They settled in, and just in time for the birth of their only child; Andromeda Calliope Brody. Jamie had hoped for more, but post-pregnancy complications meant it was a risk for Elisabet to carry again.
For six years, all was well; at least on the surface. Andromeda was a happy young thing who took care of and played with her cousins when the families came together for the holidays and vacation times. What no one knew was that Jamie was burning through the family money in bad investments and terrible business choices. It came to light when there was a raid on Jamie’s offices and home. Only, Jamie wasn’t there. Elisabet was home with Andromeda, and she clutched her little girl close as men in dark uniforms tore apart their home. Jamie had seen from a distance away as his office was invaded and something inside of him snapped. He couldn’t stand to lose everything, despite it being his own fault. Before Elisabet could understand what had happened in her world, her husband’s face was on the news and there was a neighbourhood rocked by a heinous murder spree a state over. Somewhere, in some dark corner of Jamie’s mind, he felt as though robbing the houses in the suburban neighbourhood would save him. But then people had been home and the first murder had been instinctive, almost a survival thing for him, and after that it seemed like a good idea to the growing shadow inside.
He vanished without a trace. Sent nothing but a short, apologetic e-mail to his wife from an internet café on the east coast. The FBI followed their leads, but always found themselves chasing dust and shadows. Jamie has confessed in his e-mail to what he had done, and witnesses and home security systems had recorded him, but he kept trying to run, and managed to keep it up for some time.
Elisabet wanted to return to her family immediately, but there was so much going on with the police and the FBI that it wasn’t so easy. She was shunned by friends, gossiped about, and as much as she tried to shelter Andromeda from it all, everything became so overwhelming and heartbreaking for her. Her siblings called and came to visit when they could, but they had families and children of their own, so dropping everything wasn’t entirely possible, especially when the days began to turn into long, torturous months for Elisabet. One night, she put Andromeda to bed, told her she loved her, and the dark haired, blue eyed little girl never saw her mommy again. A police officer two days later found her home alone, eating cereal and Rome told him mommy hadn’t been home for all that time. A search found nothing suspicious, but a few weeks into the hunting season, some men found the body in the woods, in a secluded spot where Elisabet had taken her own life. It was believed that she hadn’t wanted Andromeda to find her, and that she knew police would be back in a day or so because that was their pattern by now. It was a risk for Rome, but Elisabet couldn’t take anymore of her world, it had turned dark, unbearable, and she felt as though she couldn’t give her daughter anything she deserved.
Andromeda was taken in by her Aunt Harriet, and her Uncle Stefan. They had a daughter, Aloy, and a son, Monty. Monty older, around rarely because of his school commitments, but Aloy was younger than Andromeda, and had a wildfire spirit that made Rome feel unsettled at times. The age difference meant they weren’t going to be overly close, but Rome always felt on the edge of everything. She was told that she only had to ask if she wanted something, that she was family. She had her own room, her own generous allowance, and was treated just as well as the two children of Stefan and Harriet. Still, Rome never could shake the feeling that she was out of place. She had dark hair, was shorter, had a scary past that no one knew about. The family acted like her father was a ghost, someone who shouldn’t be spoken about. Rome felt the same way, but it was just weird. She found herself feeling jealous for no reason at times, and could never shake the feeling that she was a tag along, even though all of her cousins welcomed her, and she had friends and a good life throughout her teenage years.
Jamie was eventually caught when Andromeda was sixteen. It was headline news and everything she had put behind her came rushing back. She opted now to change her name, make it that which had been her mother’s maiden name, and that of the family that had raised her for the past nine and a half years. She wanted nothing to do with her dad, who tried to use his daughter when he was brought back to Missouri for his trial, saying he was sorry for the pain he had caused her and how he wanted to make it all better. Andromeda refused to go see him, speak at the trial, or have anything to do with him. She felt empty when he was finally sentenced to death and dragged off to death row. She was forced into therapy by her aunt just to ensure that she really was going to be okay, but Rome thought it was all a waste of time. She simply just wanted to get on with her life.
After suffering – and still battling – with acne, she had developed an interest in skin, and healthcare. Becoming an Esthetician was perfect for her. She had visited one for her own skin treatment and concerns, and now wanted to do the same for others. She didn’t mind if it was just indulging someone’s vanity, or actually allowing someone to find a cure to whatever made them feel self-conscious. Andromeda went through all the schooling and training for it, and then moved out to New York City simply because it was her favourite place in the world, and her cousins had decided that they wanted to make their future there. Rome thought maybe going out there and being a part of their crazy little plan might actually help her feel like she belonged, and allow her to shake that black sheep feeling.
She wound up at Serenity Clinic, where a pool of regulars became her own, and New York became her life. No one knew her dad was a terrible man, and he didn’t know how to reach her either. Rome felt like things might actually be good for her here.
