PERSONALITY: Alkamy was a happy, bubbly child growing up and not much changed as she got older. She was a little more guarded but otherwise she didn't let her fears take over her life. She could have easily, let the trauma of her childhood get the better of her but she is so much braver than that. Instead, she used it to drive herself forward and into the life she wanted for herself. At first, Kamy knows she's a bit of a hardass with a Sailor's tongue but underneath it all, she really is a sweet little thing with a heart of gold. She doesn't like giving second chances in life, not unless you're family or her best friend. She's a one and done sort of gal and will never apologise for that attitude. She's too stubborn for that. She's a creative person, who loves working with her hands and getting down and dirty. She absolutely hates being stuck in her apartment, preferring the outdoors to the space she calls home. Alkamy is a clever and very active girl, always needing to be on the move. She will never settle for something less than what she wants or believes she deserves but at the same time, she doesn't expect the world or anyone else to fall at her feet. She's got a good head on her shoulders and she's quite proud of that. Love is something she's always wanted but has never really known how to chase after. She doesn't want to admit it but she's got a wall up thanks to that idiot who'd stolen most of her hearing.MOTHER: Meredith Belwood & forty five.

HISTORY: Meredith and Warren met during Meredith's first week of university. She'd been a bright eyed freshman, searching for the campus store. He'd been on his way to that general direction himself, for a shift at the coffee shop across the quad. That was their first meeting, their second happened shortly after she'd collected the books she'd been after when she'd stopped in to grab herself an overly frothy cappuccino. She ended up spending the rest of the night there, talking to him whenever he had a spare moment, which near the end of the night, was quite a few. After a few days, she ended up helping him out so much, the boss offered her a job. A few months into their friendship, Warren kissed her, surprising the hell out of her but not at all in a bad way. They had been together since then, getting married shortly after Meredith graduated. Warren was still in the process of getting his masters and Meredith was going to start her own journey to the next level of her degree after their honeymoon.
Two years into their marriage, Roan was born, starting their happy family. And two years after him, Alkamy was born. She was a spitfire even as a small child and did whatever she wanted, no matter what the rules were. She was a fighter, and loved a good argument, even as a child when she'd been told she couldn't have a cookie before dinner. She'd been about twelve when her life took an interesting turn. They'd been at one of their usual Renaissance fairs, her father doing the whole blacksmithing thing that he loved and Kamy hadn't yet been old enough to join him with. So she'd been off playing with the children in her fairy costume. A boy the same age as her brother was trouble and started setting off firecrackers. The kids were squealing and laughter and running away but Alkamy was having none of it and said as much to her brother. He'd told her to walk away and when he said something, she generally listened to him. Unfortunately, before she'd gotten a chance to storm off, a firecracker went off right next to her left ear. A pain like she'd never felt before ripped through her head causing her to scream in terror. She flung out, her first reaction to attack her attacker but he'd moved much faster than she had. Still, her brother had still been standing there, though he'd been looking at one of the pretty teenagers dressed in the fairy costumes and had only seen the boy in question turning away just after it happened; he hadn't seen it to prevent it. He felt horrible but there was nothing to be done and Kamy said as much to him. Still with doctor's appointments and the police's unfortunate involvement, things were settled and sorted out quickly enough. The boy's parents had to pay for all of Alkamy's medical bills that pertained to her ear and still continued to pay them whenever she needed to take a visit because of yet another infection. She would continue to have them for life, except these days, the payments had to go through the boy in question; Martin Kerr.
Alkamy was born to quirky parents who loved renaissance faires, dressing up in gorgeous jewel tone dresses of the eras and the leather waistcoats and billowy tops. Kamy had loved it all so much and had wanted to grow up to be a princess like her mommy when she'd been small. Of course both her parents were actually professors with particular interests in the era shrouded in tales of white knights, Ladies in lakes and King Arthur himself. Warren had a particular interest in the weaponry of the era, something he passed on to both his children, though his only daughter was the one more taken with the sharp implements. Meredith had more of a love of the story telling side to the era and specialised in the poetry of it all. It was so breathtaking to her and shr had hoped to pass on her love to at least one of her children. When both showed an interest, Meredith was over the moon pleased. Albany was intense when it came to her school work. She took extra courses online, took summer school courses online and had even applied to college credit courses when she been still a freshman so when she graduated early from high school, she was already set up as a junior for Texas A&M. She continued her studies there, learning under her father's tutelage.
She graduated with honors so much earlier than she should have, surpassing even her brother who was two years her senior. They graduated from high school at the same time and then Many graduated from university two years before him! It wasn't a point of contempt between them, in fact Roan was Kamy's biggest supporter in her quest for academic greatness. Her entire life, much like his, had been dressing up like they did in the past and wandering around a park acting like they'd been born in the wrong era entirely though when shed been old enough, she'd taken up the job of being her father's apprentice and helping him in the blacksmithing hut that he ran every year.
After she graduated, Kamy decided she was going to go somewhere else to finish off her degree and start from scratch again. She had needed to spread her wings and see what else there is in the world. She ended up attending NYU to get a degree in Creative Writing. She's already found herself a gig teaching fencing at a private club in the city that earns her enough money to have a nice apartment in a building with a doorman and to take care of herself. She knew she could have stayed in Texas and continued getting her education for free, thanks to both her parents being professors at her school but she'd needed to find herself. Now at twenty, Kamy is just trying to see what there is outside of blacksmithing and poetry.
