EYES: Dark brown.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: He actually has a scarification on his arm. He was tired of being asked about a scar he had there and turned something ugly into something interesting. He likes the idea of taking bad memories and making them special.

PIERCINGS: None.
PLAY-BY: Noah Mills!LIKES: medical journals, autumn, clocks, lemon cheesecake, visiting his sisters, honey on toast, hockey, ice skating, floral arrangements, Post-It notes, reading, beer, feminism, bike rides, coffee shops, summer, suit jackets, hazelnut creamer, spicy chicken wings, girls in his hoodies, getting dressed up, wheatbread.
DISLIKES: his sisters being upset, wasps, being too tired to function, missing calls from home, fussy dates, explaining himself repeatedly, getting the flu, cold Chinese food, messy bathrooms, dirty cups, dishwashers, phones at the dinner table, being in a bad mood, bossy people, football hype, the colour pink.
FEARS: Anything happening to his sisters, his dad, wasps.
SECRETS: His fear of wasps stems from the torrent of abuse his dad put him through. He used to catch wasps in glasses during the summer and then taunt Mack with them threatening to unleash them on him. He’s just thankful the girls never went through it.
PERSONALITY: Mack is a man with a heart of gold when it comes to the people he cares about. He’s loyal and considerate. He’s also intelligent, and promises to be a hard worker even if his career means he has to make sacrifices that hurt him. Mack is driven man, who knows what he wants out of life and will accept what it takes to make that happen. However, Mack also understands the importance of being a family man, and he's not willing to let that go for anything. It might be difficult to strike a balance between a demanding job and a family life, but he always does his best to compensate when he can. He likes to be sociable when he can, just as he likes to try anything at least once. He’s aware that life is short; experience and his job tells him that. So he calls himself a fun loving guy when he’s not needed to work. His CDC career keeps him occupied at some funny hours and places, and often leaves him unable to talk about some of the things he’s called in for, but Mack simply reminds himself that it was what he wanted and that he’s doing good in a world filled with too many shadows. He won’t let his temper get the better of him, choosing to have other outlets when he’s frustrated at the world, or annoyed at people. He believes in letting people know when they’re bothering him, but he’s not the type to kick and scream, or throw punches. That isn’t to say he won’t defend those he loves to the death though. Mack is sweet, and maybe a little overly affectionate at times. He likes to show that he cares, and he’s not ashamed of that, whether it be in the privacy of his home or in public.MOTHER: Stephanie Grace Mackie, 53.

HOMETOWN: Somerset, Kentucky.
HISTORY: Stephanie knew Kelvin was bad news, but she was drawn to him anyway. He was constantly in trouble for fighting, for petty crimes, but he knew how to say all the right things to make a girl like her fall head over heels for him. She was only twenty when she gave birth to their son, George Xavier Mackie; a child who grew up solely by his nickname and last name. His father gave him a reputation Mack wanted nothing to do with, but couldn’t break free from.
Throughout the most part of Mack’s childhood, Kelvin came and went. He was in and out of jail with short to medium jail terms, and when he was around he didn’t do much. He was a bum, pure and simple. Still, Stephanie still married him at the courthouse, a small, basic event just so she could take his name. She told family it was for Mack’s sake, so that there could be some stability and rights…things the little boy was far too young to understand when he was sitting in the dirt playing with a firetruck and wishing he could save his mom and the rest of the world while he was at it.
He was eight when Stephanie had his first sister, and twelve when the second came along. His dad was absent for both births and Mack knew that would be the same for their lives. He had experienced it first hand and he knew it wasn’t going to change as time went on. Kelvin wasn’t the type of man who would grow up and accept his responsibilities. Mack decided that his sisters needed, and deserved better than that. His poor mother needed to work endless hours to support her three kids as it was, but when she was home she gave them her undivided attention despite her exhaustion. Mack was old enough to know his mom needed rest, so he frequently took his sisters and kept them at the park on the weekends or after school so that she could get some rest, or catch up on some much needed me time. He ended up doing pretty much whatever they wanted when they were growing up. It was Teresa wanting to learn to skate that led to him learning and eventually joining a hockey team that barely had enough kids on it. He then taught his sisters what they wanted to know, and encouraged Teresa when she joined the figure skaters at their rink, being her partner when she needed the extra practice.
If they wanted something, it was Mack they turned to, and he set out like a man on a mission to make it happen. Even when he was in college studying biochemistry on his way to become a virologist he still found a way to make corsages for their proms, becoming quite fond of floral arranging in the meantime. He did all he could for his sisters, no questions asked. They didn’t have a lot of money as a family, and what came in had to go on essentials. He had offered to get a job during high school, but his mom insisted that he focus on his education. He had a bright head on his shoulders and she didn’t want to see him waste that because he was so run down balancing all those responsibilities. She said it was enough that he did all that he did around the house to make her life easier, and all the things he did to try to make his sisters feel like they weren’t missing out.
Kelvin was serving a five year prison sentence when another inmate killed him over another matter. Mack worried more for his sisters and mother than he did about himself. He hadn’t formed much of a bond with his father over the last seventeen years, but his fleeting presence had been a little different for the women of the family. He brought cheap gifts home from time to time, and when he was around he at least played like he might know what he was doing. Mack wasn’t fooled by it, but he still checked in on his family, even nudging his mom when she said Kelvin’s death was for the best for everyone. They had been treated different to Mack. Kelvin hadn’t liked being second favourite to his own son, and throughout Mack’s life had tormented him with what he thought were jokes and little tricks. He’d trap wasps and drag Mack close to them, saying they’d sting him. It was always mental abuse and torment, knowing that if Stephanie saw marks it would be another story altogether. Another lot of trouble he didn’t need. Kelvin wanted to break his son, but Mack wouldn’t give him that satisfaction
He went to college to study biochemistry, and then went on to gain a doctorate in virology before ultimately landing a job with the CDC in New York City after completing two years working in a lab at John Hopkins. Mack spends a lot of his time travelling for work, with a job he often can’t talk a lot about, but he loves it. This is what he had wanted to do for all those years he was braiding hair, and encouraging his sisters to be ballerinas and princesses. He takes every chance he can to go back home and visit them, and they always call him after some good news or a bad day, because – as they say – he’s still their superman. And that’s the best thing in the world to Mack.
