PERSONALITY: Talia is not a person who will sit back and watch the world around her. She's most definitely not a pushover. She's a loudmouth who will say what comes to mind without so much as a thought to how it might sound. Probably not the personality someone would look for in a PR specialist but Talia is damn good at her job and she thrives under the pressures of spinning an image. Talia is a feisty one who will stick to her opinions, even if she has to fight for every word. Born in Italy, Talia still holds a faint accent though she moved to New York when she'd been ten. She's more a lover than a fighter but that doesn't mean she doesn't take a kickboxing class twice a week or have a fifth-dan Kendo grade. Her father wanted his little girl to be able to protect herself in the big city. Talia is smart but she honestly thinks it's just common sense when she mentions something. Always full of big ideas, Tals isn't afraid to throw them into the ring. She's a fun girl with the attitude and energy to dance all night. Talia has the drive and the willpower to get ahead in such a male dominated world. Working in the NHL is not what anyone would think when they look at Talia but she loves that. She loves being underestimated. Romance isn't something Talia is too worried about, she's only young still, plenty of time yet.MOTHER: Chantelle Roma & sixty one.

HISTORY: To look at the family photographs lining the walls, no one would know Talia was adopted at ten years old and brought over from Capri, Italy to start fresh in New York City. Her father was a member of parliament so they travelled quite a bit but they had always found themselves back in Capri. Natalia had been at school when her parents died. They were together, going to lunch when their vehicle didn't take a turn it was meant to. The streets were narrow and winding and instead of sticking to the street, their car went through the short stone wall and into the water below. There were no survivors. Police and government officials showed up at Talia's school, took her from class and sat her down to explain what happened. She wasn't the first to be notified but her Godparents lived in New York and they needed to book flights and board planes to get to her. Talia ended up spending the night at a friend's house so her routine wasn't so disturbed, something that very rarely happened. In the early morning hours Chantelle, Angelo and their son Antonio arrived in Capri. Paperwork was a bit of a nightmare but because Talia was so young, they cut through quite a bit of red tape to have it sorted within a couple weeks instead of a couple months. The investigation was still on going but they allowed the Roma's to take Talia home with them.
They'd been staying at Talia's home while they'd been working through all the red tape so plenty of her things had started to be packed up for the move. Chantelle and Angelo had sat her down in the kitchen one night and asked her if she wanted to stay in Capri or if she wanted to return to America with them. Angelo had been Lorenzo's best friend as a child and they'd continued to be close as they'd gotten older. When Antonio was born, Talia's parents were asked to be his Godparents and when Talia was born, her parents had asked his. Both Lorenzo and Amalie hadn't had any siblings so Chantelle and Angelo were the closest things they had to family; they were family. They kept her home in Capri, so she could visit whenever she wanted through her holidays and when she was older. Her parents had left behind so much and she would want for nothing. It actually took a little under a year but two days after Talia's eleventh birthday, Chantelle and Angelo sat Talia and Antonio and asked them how they would feel about making Talia a real, legal part of the family by adopting her. Talia would always miss her parents, they taught her everything she knew but she'd already started to call Chantelle and Angelo mom and dad, she already felt like Antonio was her brother. They all agreed and went straight to the courthouse and signed the paperwork. It was also around this time that the Italian police concluded Talia's parents were murdered. The car accident had not been an accident as everyone had originally thought. The car's brake lines had been cut. They had figured it out months beforehand but they had wanted to keep it quiet until they found the culprit. Charges had been laid and Talia's parents were finally able to rest comfortably. Talia could also continue on understanding that a bad thing was done to them by a bad man and if he hadn't been so angry, she might still have her parents.
Life in New York wasn't at all bad, though Talia routinely found herself wishing her parents were there to share it with. Still, she made friends and attended classes. She went to parties and went on school trips and had a good life. She attended her first NHL game when she was sixteen. Her boyfriend at the time got tickets from his parents to attend and game and once he found out Talia had never been to a single hockey game before, didn't even know what hockey was, he just had to bring her. It was an incredible game and Mason tried to explain all the rules and surprised her with a jersey to wear during the game. She became almost obsessed, wanting to know everything she could. She practically cornered her father and brother and annoyed them until Angelo surprised her and Antonio with season tickets to go to every home game. She learned so much, figured out what all the stats were and managed to predict which teams would make it to the playoffs potentially and dreamed of working with the team though she had absolutely no idea how she could possibly do that.
She said as much to Antonio one day over lunch and he suggested she major in Public Relations in college, since she was still trying to figure out which school she would even apply to at the time and the idea struck a chord. She spent the next four years after being accepted by NYU studying PR in the hopes of finding a job with the Rangers. It was an extremely long shot. She was young and had absolutely no experience in anything at all. She could navigate social media well but what was pretty much the only thing she could do. Talia never thought in a million years that her life would change so much. She thought she would get an entry level gig out of university and work her way up the ladder to find herself the assistant to some big wig PR know-it-all and never really find herself with a corner office with her own assistant and her name on the door… or the wall of the office.
Straight out of school, Talia landed an interview at a PR firm. The whole process was a little odd to say the least but Talia was nothing if not quick on her feet, though technically her interview had been over and she'd been walking out. She made a wrong turn, getting confused in the office and ended up walking into another meeting; this one for a new client. She was quite literally the youngest person in that room and though it should have been daunting, especially since she was immediately noticed, she'd been feeling pretty good about her interview. The head's were demanding she tell them who she was and what the hell she was doing interrupting and threatening to fire her all before she'd managed to get a word in to explain her situation. The clients stayed quiet until the PR heads finished their rants and filled the silence with a single question, "Would this grab your attention?" Talia then finally noticed what they were talking about and snorted her answer before she'd even realised she'd actually responded. Of course she immediately apologised but they agreed, it really was terrible. They followed up that question with another, "What would she do." She thought about it for about a millisecond before she launched into a detailed plan of action that she'd honestly just thought up as she went along. It was a damn good thing that one of the guys started recording otherwise she wasn't sure if she would have been able to repeat any of it.
Talia left with the clients who turned out to be management for the New York Rangers. After a wonderful work lunch, at twenty two and barely out of university, Talia found herself as the head of the team's PR team, having provided the management team with enough thoughts, ideas and suggestions to see them through the next two years, plus ideas should someone do something stupid. She also had ideas for charity works, getting them in for more volunteer events. After only a few months, Talia overhauled their entire social media, requesting new graphics and new plans to bring attention to what the guys were doing off the ice just as much as what they were doing on it. They had a lot of down time off season and though quite a few of the guy's had other things going on, they also needed to show they were about the community. Now at Twenty four, Talia is still the youngest member of the management team and she's thriving with all the things she's helping them to accomplish and still feeling like her dream come true was just a bubble waiting to burst or a dream she would wake up from at any second.
