GENDER: female
SEXUALITY: Straight
STATUS: Single
GROUP: Citizen.
GRADE: N/A.
MAJOR: N/A.
JOB OCCUPATION: Novelist and house sitter.HAIR: Naturally a bit of a dirty blonde/light brown colour. She's not strayed far from that most of her life. There's been a few colours, experiments but it's never lasted long. She keeps it long and usually lets it fly free though she's been known to twist it up while she's writing with pencils.
EYES: Blue.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: Paper cuts don't count, right?
TATTOOS: None at the moment.
PIERCINGS: Her ears once.
PLAY-BY: Indiana Evans!LIKES: writing, history, Starbucks lattes, small dogs, puff pastries, book tours, make up, oversized beanies, housesitting, frozen hot chocolate, the smell of the library stacks, archives, crochet blankets, Halloween, Steampunk, candy apples.
DISLIKES: Being so klutzy, very large dogs, flats, her bra strap falling off her shoulder, not getting dressed for full days, falling into bed when the sun comes up, cold tea, spiders, idiots, drunks hitting on her, missing a work out, being harassed by her editor, animal collars with bells, roses.
FEARS: A house she's sitting getting broken into, spiders, clowns.
SECRETS: Parker has hopes of one day having all her PhDs as back up plans and not something she needs to rely on. So far so good but she's always concerned that the next book won't do as well as the last.
PERSONALITY: Parker was born and raised in the best kind of environment; loud! Nothing was off limits, everything was up for discussion. It was a good way to be brought up and a way of life for Parker now; which probably means she's more than a little bit blunt. But she takes pride in it. Parker is also, oddly enough, very laidback despite her monster work ethic. She's completely driven and so determined to follow the goals she's set for herself that nothing else will do. It helps that she's really stubborn and refuses to believe there's nothing she can't do. When she's not nestled in being her creative self and writing her books or finishing those PhDs, she's on the go, unable to settle down unless she's interested in whatever it is in front of her. Parks is definitely the adventurous type with a pretty playful disposition. Thanks to her quirky upbringing, Parker is very much a huge family girl. She talks to them all the time and visits so frequently they should probably be sick of her! But the feelings are mutual. Parker is a loyal girl to have in your corner, always there to help out, no matter the cause. She's absolutely a feisty woman but she's also got a big heart, proving just how caring she can be. Though it should go without saying, Parker is one smart cookie, she's just a little bit afraid that her brain gets in the way of romance. Sure, there have been boyfriends scattered about here and there but nothing that's been something she would even consider writing home about; even though her parents know all.MOTHER: Moira & Fifty Five.
FATHER: Ethan & Fifty Five.
SIBLINGS: Ares & Twenty Five.
OTHERS: Hannah Mae Rodriguez & Twenty Four, Roommate and Bestie!
PETS: None at the moment!
HOMETOWN: Boston, Massachusetts.
HISTORY: Parker's childhood was full of wild stories about princess and knights in shining armour fighting off dragons and other mythical creatures. That's what happens when you're too young to understand your parents are both historians; one of Medieval studies, focusing on literature and the other of Greek and Roman studies with a focus on the mythology of the era. Parker and Ares led an odd life filled with sword fights in the backyard, lessons no one else they knew were learning and knowledge about the past that no child should probably have. Ares at least, was talking about cannibalism long before he should have known what it was! Parents were brought into school of course, there wasn't a month that went by during the school year that they weren't being called in for one of their little monsters but the small family wouldn't have had it any other way.
As they got older, they figured out what they could talk about and what they couldn't. Sword fighting was okay and unless a genuine discussion about a certain book in English or situation in science came around naturally, cannibalism was out. They were to rules to live by. It really was no wonder when they went off to school, a year apart, that both children would turn to history in some way or another. Parker double majored pairing history with English while Ares tackled history with everything he had by taking on the physical side of it as well with archaeology. Moira and Ethan Kadlec taught their children to follow through whatever they did and neither of them had ever disappointed their parents. They weren't exactly the athletic types though Parker had wanted to try dance when she'd been small and had stuck through university and so far in her adult life but Ares wasn't the least bit athletic until he went away to school and decided to hit the gym with his roommate who had needed a workout buddy.
To pay for the parts of school that weren't covered by her partial fencing scholarship, Parker wrote short stories and submitted them and had done since a history teacher in high school first did it for her. She got back good reviews and whenever they were published, she received a check in the mail. As well, because though it paid well, it didn't provide her with enough money to support herself, she started housesitting her freshman year. Columbia University was expensive and she was a good quiet person so people trusted her. She watered plants, took care of pets and did light housework while she studied and wrote. After four years, she graduated with two degrees though she went right back, demanding herself to get her masters and eventual PhD for both subjects. For her there wasn't a point in doing something if you weren't going to go all the way with it. She decided to take time between the second and third, though it was nothing more than a term just enough time to save up more money. She was doing well for herself, securing a contract with a publishing house for full length novels and with the housesitting so she spent those few months just writing out everything for the next book in the series. Now at twenty four, she's diving headfirst into getting those elusive letters to add behind her name and the shiny diplomas to put on her wall with the rest.
She had decided she would split the rent on an apartment with her university roommate and best friend once they graduated because neither of them could have afforded a room in the city, nevermind an entire apartment, though Parker is rarely there thanks to the housesitting gig. Still, she has a place to call her own and to hold those things too precious to cart around with her every time she switches to another job. She wants to get her PhDs out of the way so she can put all her efforts into writing full time for a while. And then maybe consider something more history related though her books are doing quite well; time travel pays very well!
