PERSONALITY:
Lucas is still finding his way, but he is making sure he enjoys the ride. His love of comedies stretches back for generations, and it shows in his quirky sense of humor. He can be very indecisive and doesn’t like to commit too strongly to anything, but he’s getting more comfortable with the idea of settling down. Even though he’s nearly 30, he still doesn’t consider himself an adult and likes to get along with the kids, which is why he’s still working at his alma mater.
Family is one of the most important things to him and, while he’s still developing his own strong roots, he frequently returns to his hometown to visit his sisters and parents. As an older brother, he can be protective of the people closest to him. He isn’t hard to get along with by any means, and believes kindness gets you farther than arguing ever will. This can often lead to him getting walked on however, as he prefers to circumvent little situations instead of dealing with them head on. His passionate heart often gets him into trouble, as well, as he firmly believes in fighting for the things you love when the time is right.MOTHER: Patrice Easton-Cooper & 62.

HISTORY:
Yellow Springs, Ohio was the kind of town where everyone knew everyone, and this included Nathaniel and Patrice. They grew up across the street from each other, quickly falling in love before they were even old enough to understand how. It was the typical small town romance, and Lucas could not have asked for better parents. They married quite young, but held off on having kids until they could afford a big enough house to hold them. Once they moved into the charming abode, they found themselves with a big family and it was Lucas’s favorite part of growing up. He loved coming from the brood of six, especially all the crazy antics they’d fall into to drive their parents crazy.
Teenage years in Yellow Springs came with a splattering of silly festivals, crazy high school antics, and late night runs to the neighboring towns for parties or ice cream. While Lucas was by no means one of the worst guys at school, he did enjoy his party life and found himself in some dangerous crowds. When your older brother is the star of the basketball team, it’s hard not to become a popular kid and Lucas’s charming personality only helped the situation. He worked hard to keep his grades at a decent level and still managed to graduate in the top ten of his class. He was smart when he applied himself, but he needed the encouragement to keep his head in the books.
Though Lucas loved his hometown and always pictured himself in Yellow Springs sometime to raise his own family, he chose to go explore the East coast instead of attending a local college. He wound up at NYU, majoring in Marketing Development with minors in Public Relations and Accounting. It was ambitious, but Luke wanted to build a professional resume that would allow him to make himself and his parents comfortable one day.
He had every intention of being a good kid in college, yet that never seems to work out as the transition to adulthood begins. He fell back into his partying ways and was nearly expelled from the University for a crazy house party held off campus. Luke left campus that summer with strong feelings about not coming back and chose to wreak a little havoc in his hometown to blow off steam. His mother would have none of it though and, after seeing the struggles her son was facing, chose to slap some sense into him. She sent him off to Texas to spend the summer with his grandfather, who ran a Fortune 500 company and was one of the top dogs in the business world. Even though Luke was 20 at the time and capable of making his own decisions, he would never go against the woman who’d raised him and soon ended up in the southern heat while wearing a too-expensive suit.
Lucas Easton, his namesake and the man who’d only been a shadow in most of his life, was one of the best things that could have happened to Luke. He knocked some serious sense into his grandson while also giving him an introduction to the business world that Luke had craved. The summer built a relationship that Luke would never be able to thank his mother for; he found a mentor, an inspiration, and a coach all in one man.
Luke returned to NYU after his summer in the south and finally got his head in the game. Literally. He got onto the basketball team, a hobby turned passion of his throughout childhood, and finally got himself a level head. His life became basketball and studying, with very little room for partying. He devoted himself to his education and found more and more that he didn’t want to join the business world; it was too cold for someone who craved people, like he did. Nonetheless, he had promised his parents and grandfather he would graduate, which he did. As completion rolled around, Luke wasn’t ready to join the real world just yet and chose to get his Masters down in Texas near his grandfather. He had an internship at the company while he studied and obtained his degree, though it was much more boring than his days at NYU.
After working for the company, Luke was very sure that the business world wasn’t for him. He loved the work he was doing, but the atmosphere wasn’t right. He wanted to help people, and be involved, and not have to work nine to five every day. He stayed with his grandfather for a year after he got his Masters, but New York began calling him once again, and Luke was never one to turn down an opportunity.
On a whim, he applied for the open position of becoming an Advisor for his alma mater. When he got the job, he was blown away; speechless, really. Without hesitation, Luke said goodbye to his grandfather and moved himself back to New York where he started work in the Academic Advising Center straight away. He quickly found himself getting as involved as possible at campus, picking up the volunteer position as assistant basketball coach and then becoming the advisor for the school’s acapella group. Luke had finally found a place where he felt like he belonged and, three years later, he’s still enjoying every moment of it.
