PERSONALITY: Carver is a goofy guy who almost always has his phone or camera attached to his person. He’s energetic but lazy at the same time, depending on how he feels. He’s humorous, and prefers to be funny (or punny) rather than serious any day of the week. In fact, sometimes he struggles being serious when it’s absolutely required of him. Carver has a big heart and an open mind. He’s a social bunny, but also enjoys taking some time for himself to edit videos or binge watch some of his favourite movies. He’s been raised to be a lover and not a fighter, and he’s the type to get a headache very quickly whenever drama unfolds. By all means he’ll hug and comfort anyone who’s upset, but he’s not one to get involved in the centre of it all. He prefers it when life is easy going. He’s a family-orientated guy, which might be surprising given that he comes from such a crazy and dysfunctional family. He’s not the greatest when it comes to love, and he’s definitely not a classic romantic, but Carver is certainly a sentimental guy who knows how to be affectionate. While he’s absolutely doting and committed when he’s in a relationship, Carver isn’t afraid to have fun while he’s single too. His flirtation is just very much on the eye-rolling side.MOTHER: Vivienne Lilian Milano, 49.

HISTORY: Vivienne and Nile were in love once, and that love started in the local park when he met her walking his dog, and it lasted through a marriage and the birth of two children very close together in age. Carver followed his sister Bethany, and both were very rambunctious kids who were encouraged to run wild and free as often as possible. Vivienne encouraged creativity, and Nile believed that children should be heard and seen wherever they went. On the other hand, both children had their manners, and they knew how to use them. They were just also scrappy little things who had the habit of falling over a lot and getting stuck climbing where they shouldn’t.
Vivienne and Nile eventually drifted apart. There was no fighting, no third person, just a slow realisation that the spark had gone and that they were more like friends than lovebirds. The divorce was finalised when Carver was ten, but the family lived together for a few more months until Vivienne moved out when a new job came along that required her to go on the road for two months. She was a choreographer, and worked a lot on touring shows and concerts as the children got older. Carver and Bethany stayed living with their father, and there was never any animosity between their parents; not even when Vivienne re-married when Carver was fifteen. Their step-father was also a dancer, but Vivienne was very clear about putting the children first before all else. It didn’t matter what else the world had on offer; Carver and Bethany were her life.
Vivienne brought out the weird side of her children, whereas Nile overshared and was the cringeworthy dad who said too much and made them honest – too honest. Carver has oodles of it recorded on camera, much to his shame, but he was always with a camera in his hand and Nile wasn’t ashamed to talk about failed dates with his kids. They had an open, honest relationship, and he wanted them to be able to trust him should they have any problems. Plus, he loved making his teenage ‘cool’ kids squirm and run out from breakfast. It was a power they couldn’t hold over him.
Carver was liked, but not popular. His sister had that over him, but it wasn’t something he particularly craved. He liked being a bit of an oddball with his blue hair (which almost got him expelled). He was a media kid from that first class, with decent grades, decent friends, and a close relationship with his sister. Bethany was too much like him at times, but that was exactly why they were as much trouble as they were. They both enrolled at college in New York; Carver at NYU, and Bethany at a performing arts school. They didn’t live together, just because Bethany wanted to live in dorms with her classmates, but they were close enough to each other that they were there should they need to be. Vivienne was always passing through with some job and even Nile proved difficult to keep away in the end!
