PERSONALITY: Isaac isn't completely the tough exterior he likes to think he is. He's got a soft center in there, too. He wouldn't go so far to call himself a teddy bear but that's essentially what he is. He's got a soft spot for the woman in his life and the victims and family members he has to talk to but everyone else gets the hard shell. Isaac is quite a clever man with a psychology degree to prove it. Stubborn also is too tame a word to describe but it's as close as he can think of. Isaac has quite the protective personality, always wanting to do right by someone else. He can be a little bit selfish at times but those rare moments are usually after a bad day turned into more than a couple bad weeks. He's passionate and how the world works genuinely upsets and completely overwhelms him. Maybe he should have stuck to small town law enforcement but Isaac also thrives on a challenge and is borderline arrogant in his confidence in his abilities as an FBI agent and as a profiler.MOTHER: Mary Frost & 62.

HISTORY:
Born and raised in Breckenridge, Colorado, Isaac hadn't thought of going anywhere else as a kid. Mary and Donald wanted so much for their two children when they were growing up but they had also hoped that at least one of them would stick around and help out at the restaurant. Their little hometown was a big tourist place all year round and they needed all the help they could get. Myles thrived in the restaurant setting, even as a child bussing tables, he'd loved it. And eventually found himself away at a fancy, top tier cooking college, returning after so many years to take over the kitchen, making their small town family business one of the highest rated, top shelf restaurants in their whole tourist town. Isaac however, stuck around the restaurant because it was a family obligation. He could cook and clear up well enough to keep himself fed and happy but he wasn't found of the setting. So many smells meant he was put off by a lot of food whenever he was there and ended up eating the basic staples of a childhood; French fries and grilled cheese. So much so he got sick of them and even now, Isaac cannot stand even the smell of a grilled cheese sandwich.
School life was the same for Isaac as he assumed it was for everyone else. There were sports teams, he was both a football and a soccer star, he kept his grades up because the teams required it and he tried his hand at one of the school plays because, well, why the hell not? His interests varied widely and at one point, he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life; he just knew the restaurant business wasn't it. He got into the sheriff's department almost by accident. The phones were ringing off the hook, no doubt because old Mrs Rathbourne's cat was up a tree and the eighty three year old thought she was still a teenager and the pair of them were both stuck in the tree together now. It happened often enough that people called it in but left it mostly alone. And while he'd been waiting for the required police check before he could work at the ski resort. He was eighteen and didn't know much of anything about anything. But he could answer calls and sort them accordingly.
He was taking a call about a potential theft, Isaac already knew who the culprit was but as he wasn't technically part of the department so there was nothing to do about it but make a note and pass it along, when the Sheriff walked in. He heard the call, looked over the notes Isaac had made and suggested he follow him back to his office. The department was small, but it had seemed one of those rare moments had taken place where everyone was out of the building. So he offered Isaac a job, answering the phones. With the job came the training and within a year, Isaac had been deputised. Things were different in small towns, even if the sheriff's department covered the whole county. There were troubles of course but they were mostly sorted out easily enough with the trouble generally being started by people in his class back in high school. While they were off being torments, Isaac had been working hard at becoming a better deputy by taking online courses. He'd watched all those shows, like the idea of having a bit more to his background then just "Sheriff Deputy". And a profiler or psychologist would be able to ask the right questions so a degree on that seemed like a good idea. It took him a little longer than the four years it should have taken but eventually, at twenty five, he was a graduate with a psychology degree.
Years went by pretty much uneventful. There were a few incidents in his hometown but Breckenridge was mostly just trouble when the rich tourists thought they could run the place and get away with it. And then one April, it seemed like the world turned on its axis. A murder occurred in the next town over and the sheriff's department was in charge of the investigation. Augury's sister was being covered up by the coroner when Isaac got there and he recognised her instantly. Her sister was a sweet girl, albeit a little friendlier than he would have approved of personally. But it wasn't his business. She was young and enjoying her life, he could understand that. Unfortunately, he'd also overheard a few of the deputy's at the crime scene, saying she got what had been coming to her older sister. And that it was a pity the younger got the worst possible scenario. Isaac didn't think like them. No one deserved any of this. It didn't matter that Augury was a bit of a flirt, known to get around, she was still a person who deserved not to be talked about like that. And Sapphire had just been a girl who, like too many little sisters, wanted to be just like her big sister; even if it hadn't been the best choice for her.
Sapphire had been dead for six days, and the cause had been obvious enough, even after so much time. There had been clues everywhere and the investigation had wrapped up fairly quickly, though Isaac knew there were some who would have wanted it wrapped sooner. The problem with that of course, was that no one had known she'd been dead and hidden away, no one had found her immediately. It had taken six days for that to happen. And there were so many what ifs in these sorts of situations that Isaac couldn't say how it would have worked out if someone had stumbled upon her sooner. As it was, they arrested the man who'd taken Sapphire Cole away from the world long before she'd have preferred. It had been shortly before this case that Isaac started applying for law enforcement positions outside of his hometown Sheriff's department. Breckenridge was a nice place and Isaac loved his hometown but he knew too many and having to deal with people he'd grown up with, people he'd known his entire life, was becoming too much. And then the murder of Miss Cole happened.
The problem there though, was that her big sister was lost. She had no one to really talk to about it and Isaac found himself wanting to be that shoulder she cried on more and more. He'd already been the one she could turn to whenever she needed to talk. He let her flirt with him without leading her on because he didn't want the rumours about her to get worse because of him. And then he got the call from the FBI's New York office. They were offering him a place amongst their ranks. His education and experience as a profiler was an asset when dealing with the cases they took on. It was all done quickly. One minute he was thanking his new superior and hanging up the phone and the next he was telling the Sheriff he was done and having packing boxes delivered to his house. The FBI had an apartment for him to move into until he could get himself settled in a bit and find his own place should the apartment not suit him. It was just him, he figured it would be fine. And the night before he was leaving, Augury showed up at his door with a split lip, tears in her eyes and a story she could barely get through. In that moment, Isaac knew he couldn't leave her behind and offered her a way out. He hadn't been too sure if she would take him up on the offer but she did and he managed to talk her into going to the hospital to get stitches; she really needed them.
The following few months were a bit of a blur for Isaac of work and finding an apartment that was owned by the FBI and used mostly as a safe house. He'd needed something quick and his superior had offered it up on a short term basis. He tried really hard to get Augury out there and back to someone that wasn't eaten up on the inside thinking all those people back home were right and that she was to blame for her sister's death. No one but the man responsible for it was to blame for it. They settled in well to New York life together, Isaac took her shopping for a whole new wardrobe since she'd only come with the clothes on her back. It was difficult at times, he worked some odd hours and he felt terrible leaving Augury alone those nights. But she did find herself in the city and when she said she wanted to go to school and see for herself what was out there, he surprised her with a laptop; she would need one for all that coursework.
