PERSONALITY: Archer is a straight shooter. He’ll be the first to tell it like it is and he’ll never apologise for it. He knows he’s not done what his parents would have wanted of him but he also knows they’re very proud of him and he is, too. Archer doesn’t do regrets. He’s seen enough in the last few years to know that you should do everything you can when you can. He’s not by nature, a fighter but he can hold his own as an ex-Army Ranger; just like his daddy, though not in the same sections. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Archer thought he would spend the rest of his days there doing something he loved. But it’s okay that he ended up so far away from home. He’ll always be that cowboy he grew up as. Despite everything he’d seen, Archer isn’t at all suffering from the PTSD that too many suffered with. He was incredibly lucky at knew it. He likes to think he’s a sweet man, that his mama raised a gentleman but he is well aware that he’s got his father short fuse against discriminations and his wild ways on nights out. Though, he hasn’t had a good night out in a long time. Archer is by no means a straight edge sort of man. There are things he won’t touch but he enjoys a cold beer and a dram of whiskey once in a while. He is a caring man though and extremely loyal to those people he’s lucky enough to call friends.MOTHER: Melrose McCormick & 62.

HISTORY: Dante’s life wasn’t always sunshine and roses. His childhood was a mess of adults not caring enough to realise he wasn’t in the house, nevermind his room and schoolyard fights. It only got worse as he got older. His brother was a terrible influence and that didn’t help. Dante wanted to be just like Marshall. They were joyriding in a car Marshall “borrowed” when they were arrested. With Dante being just barely eighteen, the punishment was going to be severe, a lesson to everyone who would try the same stunt, not just a lesson for Dante. On the day of his hearing, he’d had a lot of time to think and when the judge asked him what he thought his punishment should be, he shocked them all by telling them that if the judge dropped the chargers against him, he would walk down to the recruitment center and enlist in the army. The judge agreed and Dante did just that and returned to the courthouse with the proof of his enlistment. The army paid for Dante to go to medical school and he did three tours as an Army Ranger, doing whatever he could to save the people he was surrounded by.
Before he was deployed however, he met Melrose on their first day as interns. They flirted, they teased, they talked, they fell for each other so hard. And then he was deployed and his life turned upside down. When he got back to the hospital, he wasn’t the same man he’d once been. He’d been a mess and he knew it but Melrose loved him anyway. It took a long time to get through it but a pregnancy, a proposal that went unanswered and then answered by a shout from the hospital rooftop. Fast forward six years and three births and life in the McCormick household couldn’t be better. Archer was the second born with none of that middle child syndrome bullshit that happened a lot. In fact, Archer liked it better when his parents overlooked him. He got into some trouble as a kid that his Army Ranger father got him out of and put him into ROTC.
From there Archie grew into a smart and funny man who understood right from wrong. But he didn’t want to go the same route as his father. He didn’t want to join the army and police people in another country. Change started at home. At least, that was how Archer was thinking about it. And then his buddy was killed overseas and Archer took up where his father had left off. He enlisted at twenty-two, worked through the training like it was nothing at all and then found himself in the bomb squad where his partner was a dog. He spent the next four years with Rafael, his German Shepherd. They did a lot of work but then they got caught in crossfire, both taking bullets. Archer’s wasn’t so bad but it did give him a medical discharge. He’d been hit in the shoulder so tons of time in rehab had him back to a relative normal. And it gave him an idea of what he wanted to do with himself now that he wasn’t a soldier. He joined the police academy at twenty-five went through the paces and then joined the K9 Unit. It was tough having Donatello with him instead of Rafael but Archer was ultimately okay. A couple years went by and at twenty-seven, Archer was given the chance of a lifetime. And naturally, he jumped on it. Now based in New York, Archer travels the country helping to train K9 units. Two years in now and he couldn’t be happier though he knows his parents would have preferred he stick closer to home.
