PERSONALITY: Landry comes from a big family so she's very big on family. She's also very outspoken and loud. She had to be to be heard over everyone else. It also means she's a very loyal person and very creative. All things she came by naturally. Always an athletic girl, Landry kept busy with dance but her heart would always lie with creating music. Like any other baby of the family, Landry can be very childish but she's not about to apologise for any of it. She's stubborn and can be quite argumentative; but only when she's right. Landry is a bright young woman with good future ahead of her. Not only is this feisty blonde outgoing, she's also very sweet. But don't let her friendly and playful appearance fool, she's a fighter thanks to all those brawls she got into the middle of as a kid with her brothers. She was a tomboy growing up though she did find her heels in high school. She was a flirt then and probably always will be; it gets the good tips. HISTORY: Maggie and Nelson met fatefully, as Landry likes to think of it as, when her mother walked into her father's family music shop, Back Alley Music, looking for a guitar for her good for nothing mooch of a boyfriend. And though her father was a terrible flirt, he was a good man and swept Maggie right off her feet. Landry Alyson Tracy was the youngest born to Maggie and Nelson. As the baby, she got away with a lot but she also got blamed for a lot, too. That's how it went with older siblings. But Landry wouldn't change any of it. She had the best siblings, coming to her rescue whenever she needed their help and picking on her in that playful way that siblings did from time to time to cheer someone up. Time continued forward and the pair were happily married, the shop became Nelson's and Maggie's. With building upgrades needing to take place, Nelson surprised Bartender Maggie with a bar of her own on the top floor of the shop leaving the main floor for the shop and the basement was the workshop that Nelson had set up with a couple of his high school buddies. From there they crafted guitars, pedals and repaired anything that came in; big and small.
Both Maggie and Nelson wanted a large family and with six kids over ten years, they got exactly that. The kids started music lessons young and they all loved it. Landry took on piano and guitar, the staples of all her favourite music, and the cello because something classical never hurt, even if she was classically trained in piano. High school for Landry was probably the same as everyone else. She had her friends, she had her music. She joined the school dance team because she liked their uniforms better than the cheerleader's and went through the four years of school with them, even making co-captain her Junior year. She had a lot on her plate but it wasn't anything she didn't put there herself. Landry thrived on being busy. Squeezing everything she could into every single day was how she managed to keep herself occupied; and out of trouble.
College wasn't any different for Landry. She kept busy, lived at home and commuted because she didn't need to add to the impressive tuition. She taught lessons at the shop on the weekends, went to class and when she was old enough, helped out behind the bar as well. She had always liked the idea of the bar and when she had declared a major, it had been a difficult choice for her. In the end, Landry chose Hospitality management with a minor in music because she couldn't let her siblings have all the fun. Unfortunately, it wasn't all fun and games. First her brother closed up the bar, was robbed, shot and left for dead. Landry taking it the hardest because she felt like they were the closest. She loves all her family but she could always talk to Chance. Though everyone helped, she was the one who spent the most time with his daughter, her niece. Emilie had been so confused and so scared and there was nothing Landry or any of them could do to make it right but they all tried their best in a bad situation. When Chance recovered, it was a whole new process without his voice. It was hard to watch him struggle with his new reality and Landry wanted to help any way she could. They were a very close knit family after all. They all banded together and learned ASL, which helped and they kept up life as normal as they could so he wouldn't feel like they were babying him or acting like he was useless. He wasn't and Landry was so proud of how he managed to bounce back the way he did. She knew a bit part of that was Emilie but she didn't think, if their roles had been reversed, if she would have taken it so well.
That all happened when she was nineteen. The following year, Landry was rushing home, she'd decided to go splits on an apartment with a couple other friends in East Village, to grab a quick bite to eat before her afternoon lectures. She'd barely sat down before she showed signs of a stroke. Majorie, a pre-med student, recognised what was happening immediately and yelled for Kathy to call the paramedics and relayed everything she needed to tell the dispatcher all whilst helping Landry through. She was rushed to the hospital with Majorie holding her hand the entire way, talking to her soothingly, calmly, exactly what she needed. Landry spent a week in hospital while they ran all sorts of tests that she couldn't keep track of, with her family by her side this time. It was hard, especially those first three days where she went into a comatose sort of shock. The doctors described it as "emotional dysplasia" if she heard them right, she wasn't even sure about that. She lost the ability to speak and to show any emotion whatsoever. It had been strange being in her head, coherent but unable to respond. It had freaked Landry right out but the doctor's believed she was in the state because her brain was creating new neurological pathways to cope with the stroke. Landry didn't know whether to believe it or not, especially when all the tests came back inconclusive. Eventually, the doctor's believed she'd had a fairly rare but occasional reaction to her birth control medication. They asked a bunch of questions about migraines and auras and decided that her medication was to blame. There was no history of heart issues and Landry was an otherwise healthy twenty year old young woman with a bright future ahead of her. She was taken off the pill, warned to be extremely careful in the future and was sent on her way home.
She finished school near the top of her class but not quite, with friends she would have for a lifetime and a career already waiting for her. She took over the books when she graduated and tended the bar when she wasn't teaching piano, guitar and cello lessons or when she wasn't in the basement of the shop, helping to create those specialty pieces. She found a cute little apartment not far from the shop and moved out to figure out what life was like living alone. As it turned out, it was quiet; too quiet and she absolutely hated it. So she borrowed Emilie one day and they headed out on an adventure; to find Auntie Landry a dog to keep her company. She already had a munchkin kitten she and her niece named Dolly to keep Landry company when she was home. With ideas running, they walked into a pet store and the pair fell for the exact same teddy bear Pomeranian. Emilie begged and Landry was just as smitten with the fluff ball so she bought it and because they were running on a theme, named him Hendrix. Now at twenty-six, Landry is enjoying her life but also wondering what else there is to it. She wants what her siblings, what her parents have but she's just as nervous about it all, too. Her last couple of boyfriends turned out to be complete duds and she doesn't want to spend her entire life kissing frogs.
