ALEXEI COLE ROSEWOOD
FULL NAME: Alexei Cole Rosewood.
NICKNAMES: Zee, AC.
AGE: Twenty-six
GENDER: male
SEXUALITY: Straight.
STATUS: Dating.
GROUP: Citizen.
GRADE: N/A.
MAJOR: N/A.
JOB OCCUPATION: None. Looking out for Adele is a full time job.HAIR: His hair is a light brown, a hint of red in some lights. It’s long, usually just above his shoulders at its shortest and Alexei tends to just leave it to fall straight and natural.
EYES: Green.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: His scars are hidden between tattoos, but they’re there. He’s not a fan of talking about them since they’re bad memories, sometimes triggering for him, but they’ll never go away. The best he can do is hope the ink on his body makes people miss them.
TATTOOS: Alexei is covered in tattoos. He gets one every time he thinks of one or something happens he wants to remember – be it good or bad. His most prominent tattoo was one of his first; “A war inside my head” across the very top of his forehead along his hairline. That one represented the troubled teenage years where he was just a huge mess and he did it so he could always look in the mirror and see what he had come from once he got his act together. He has zombie praying hands going from his temple to below his left ear, the wrist of it turns into a turn table because of how religion ruined him and music saved him. There’s a noose by his right ear, a morbid symbol to “hang on” through the hard times. He has the number ‘13’ under his eye for Adele. The rest of him is mostly covered to in big pieces, a full sleeve, imagery of things that just mean something to him.
PIERCINGS: Both of his ears have gauges in.
PLAY-BY: Bradley Soileau!LIKES: his Harley, blasting music, seeing Adele, hanging out with the MC, tattoos, cheeseburgers, chocolate chip cookies, vests, the open road, playing guitar, really spicy food, skateboarding, bar work, baseball caps, warmer months, ripped jeans, cliff tops, villains over superheroes, Dr Pepper, being himself, mint bodywash, strong coffee.
DISLIKES: Repetitive noises, triggering memories, feeling jealous, worrying so much, talking about his past before the MC, strong spirits, teenage wannabes, his father, the college campus, guns, insomnia, key lime pie, lying to Camden, being cold at night, doing laundry, getting to fights (he still does it though), dirty mirrors, dust.
FEARS: What will happen when the MC find out about his relationship with Adele, guns, losing Adele.
SECRETS: His relationship with Adele is a damn big secret. Beyond that though is a lot of his past. Nix might know and he’s told Adele and Camden some, but a lot he still keeps to himself just because of how triggering it can be for him. He’s good now and he doesn’t want to go back to it; even in memory. He knows if he’s going to stay with Adele though she deserves to know everything one day.
PERSONALITY: Alexei may look intimidating at a glance, but he’s only going to act that way with good reason given. He’s actually a pretty quiet guy, but not one to really underestimate. He’s a hard worker who has damn well proven himself over the years to be a good member of The Saints and a better man than his father. There are times when Alexei can be self-deprecating and doesn’t always feel like he deserves the things he has in his life, but he keeps these moments for when he’s alone mostly so no one can see that he does have some weaknesses. Ever since he was entrusted to watch over Adele, Alexei has tried to be strong, though strength is something he’s always had without knowing it. He’s not one to shy away and will step up and say what he’s thinking about ideas or things that are going on. He can be a worrier, overthinking things at times when his mood is really low. However, Alexei does not let this melancholy rule his life. He doesn’t ignore that triggering memories or ridiculous paranoia can come and lead to outbursts of unpredictable and crazy behaviour at times, but in recent years that has lessened considerably. He can be jealous at times of guys around Adele, but he tries not to let it happen, telling himself he knows better. Alexei is a listener and he likes to take in the world around him more than anything. When it comes to a fight Alexei can handle himself with the best. Usually people will back off the minute he steps forward given his appearance, but he does have an aggressive side which he doesn’t like letting out, but if necessary he’ll throw a punch or smack someone into a bar. He’ll defend the underdog, and be a real rough guy if anyone crosses or upsets him. Alexei can be a surprising romantic. He likes spending time just talking with Adele, hanging out with her and being sweet. She is, of course, the only person who sees that. He’s a little clingy at times, but that can be connected to his fear of losing her. He’s passionate and generally crazy for her, ready to do just about anything she’ll ask of him.MOTHER: Davina Halsey Causeway, deceased.
FATHER: Zachary Lee Rosewood, 50.
SIBLINGS: None.
OTHERS: Adele Clearwater, 20, girlfriend
Camden Clearwater, 26, best-friend.
PETS: Rebel & Yorkie (Adele’s really, but Alexei throws a ball for it just as much!)
HOMETOWN: Red Bluff, California
HISTORY: Zachary had always been trouble, but Davina didn’t realise just how much until she was three months pregnant and stuck in a hellish relationship with him. He was never around and when he was he was usually drunk or high, screaming religious phrases and nonsense at anyone near him. He claimed to be devout, but he never ever acted it. The rest of the time he was off with other women, and criminals who honestly scared Davina out of her wits. She wanted to leave, but she had grown up an orphan and she had no one else in the whole world. Friends had never been anything but gangs and rough people who were just as unreliable as Zachary. When Alexei came into the world she knew he was going to be in for one hell of a tough time himself. And she was right.
Davina died when Alexei was five. Zachary had pissed off the wrong men and they came to the house to get their revenge. Zachary was out, but they found Davina, who told Alexei to hide under the bed and close his eyes. He heard the yelling and the gunshots, but no one came until the morning. Then it was his Aunt. She took care of Alexei, called the police and tried to hunt down her useless brother. She had never really gotten along with Zachary, but she showed up every now and then to check on Davina and Alexei. It had been sheer luck that she had come by that morning after she heard there might be trouble coming for her brother. Zachary showed up a day later, but showed little care for the fact that Davina had been killed because he screwed over some dealer. Oddly, he wouldn’t let anyone take Alexei despite having done very little with his son during his early years. He had always acknowledged him in a gruff way and no one could recall any affection there, not even Alexei.
His Aunt did her best to help him, but there were times when Zachary wouldn’t let her near. He could be a very aggressive man and Alexei learned that the hard way, earning the scars to prove it. Some were cigarette burns, others were from the furniture around the house if not the man’s own hand. He didn’t even have to do anything wrong; Zachary would just get wasted one way or another and lash out. He would then use religion as an excuse for punishment and laugh as he made his son repent for nothing. This treatment led to a lot of Alexei’s problems. He was a reckless youth, did crazy stunts just because the need would overwhelm him. If he got an idea in his head he had to see it through. He jumped out of a tree and broke his arm one time, and another time he rode his skateboard through traffic just to see if he could dodge them. It was reckless, thoughtless, and each time news got back to his Aunt she would sit him down and try to knock some sense into him again. It never lasted long. Alexei wanted to make his Aunt happy; she was the only one who cared for him, but his dad would do something to set him off again. Over the years a number of things became capable of triggering Alexei if he wasn’t careful; being too close to a smoker, the smell of liquor on someone’s breath, guns, slamming doors…little things, but if he was already on edge they could push him to lash out himself and throw a punch or end up hurting himself doing something senseless.
That was how he met Camden Clearwater. Alexei was fourteen and he’d been having a tough week. He was really close to losing himself again after nights of his dad’s abuse and teachers getting on his case about low grades and slacking off. He wasn’t a bright kid because he couldn’t focus enough to apply himself. Anyway, it was late in the school day and someone slamming the door to the boy’s bathroom caused him to freak the hell out and grab the guy who had just come in. It happened to be Camden. They fought and beat each other up pretty bad. Camden was no pushover and if Alexei had paused to see who he had thrown that first punch at he might have known it. Still, when they finally fell back there was a weird mutual respect to be had for the blood and the aches they had brought out on each other. Neither had let up and that was a commendable thing. Plus, it was obvious that Alexei wasn’t totally stable at the time, and it might have helped that it was vaguely known that he was the nephew of one the members of the MC that Camden’s father was the president of. He never did ask to find out. What did matter was that they became friends after that, growing into best friends over that year.
Alexei never told Camden about his home life for a long time. He was just always around to help deal with whatever crazy idea Alexei was throwing himself into next, or to have his back in a fight when that happened. Alexei had Camden’s, too when that time came around. He was sixteen before he mentioned anything to Camden, though he suspected his best friend knew by then that there was a lot of bad stuff at home. The scars spoke for themselves, and Alexei never had Camden around his place but always met him somewhere else instead. At sixteen though, Zachary was in trouble for Grand Theft Auto and would be doing some serious jail time for the things they found on him. Alexei was moving in with his Aunt and everything was going to change.
She helped to straighten Alexei out. They got his grades to a passable level, got him a job for the weekend, and helped him find his way. He got into music, started getting some ink when his Aunt gave in, and began to see more of the MC world. He liked it and she encouraged him to prospect with Camden when he was eighteen. She told Nix about his past, he knew it, but it was never brought up much more than for the odd comment of “you’re nothing like your old man” and even then Alexei was sure it was said because he’d had a rough weekend with his own demons and headed out on the Harley his Aunt gifted him for his eighteenth and just vanished for a few days. His behaviour might have settled, but he was still prone to sometimes doing something unpredictable. So many of his tattoos came about that way, although he saw the ink as a therapy; he’d add to his collection rather than doing something reckless that could really hurt him. Obviously, it was through the MC that he met Adele. She was just a kid when he first came along properly, and he paid little attention to her because she was so young. He only really spoke to her properly after he found her walking home after the party she’d snuck off to and he was placed in charge of making sure she got to and from school in one piece. Newly patched, he wanted to prove that he was a good guy and not as crazy as some people might have thought. He always worked hard and did his best to prove that, but it was this job that he simply wouldn’t screw up for a million reasons. He felt like it was a true test and a sign that he had proven he wasn’t like his dad, and that he had fought off so many of the demons in his head.
As the time past and Adele grew up, things changed. Alexei never acted on his changing feelings because he liked having a best friend and being in the MC. Inevitably, something came about and their relationship turned romantic when Adele was eighteen and Alexei simply couldn’t hold his feelings back anymore. The secret relationship drove him crazy at times and he needed to take off to clear his head a hell of a lot more, but no one questioned it because it was what Alexei did. He still did what the club asked of him, but he just didn’t stick around afterwards and would take off, only to return when he was due again. Everyone knew that in a few days he’d share a beer again and shoot pool with Camden and the guys. So often, Alexei needed space and no one questioned him for it, especially after he was a full member.
When Adele wanted to go to New York, Alexei did have a moment of panic and slip into a state where he thought she might go off and he’d be left in California. Obviously with their relationship a secret he couldn’t chase after her, but when Brody simply couldn’t stand the idea of leaving his hometown Alexei breathed easy again - though by that point there was another extreme tattoo he had to explain away with a mumble no one could hear. New York offered them both a freedom the last two years hadn’t, but Alexei wasn’t going to be so stupid that he would totally let his guard down. He was supposed to be looking out for Adele and that was what he would do first, though the shared apartment and freedom to be themselves more often was a welcome treat once they arrived in the Big Apple. He’ll stick around as long as she’ll have him.
