GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Straight.
STATUS: Single.
GROUP: Student.
GRADE: Sophomore.
MAJOR: Art Studies.
JOB OCCUPATION: Two Bit’s Arcade Assistant.HAIR: Dark blonde, and very long. It reaches the middle of his back and he usually leaves it that way, too. He’s been thinking about cutting it off, but since it’s not been near a pair of scissors since he was nine, he’s unsure about the decision.
EYES: Green.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: Only minor ones he can’t remember the stories behind. He shrugs and says “probably a fight” if anyone asks about any they see.
TATTOOS: He has a black cross on his left index finger, and a stag tattooed on his right shoulder blade.
PIERCINGS: None.
PLAY-BY: Amandeus Serafini!LIKES: Cold beer, cars, sketching people, Italian cooking, details, mindlessly playing video games, new pillows, cliff diving, the ocean, walking barefoot, skipping stones, vanilla ice cream, smores, sit ups, dancing with pretty girls, cucumber sandwiches, cake pops, his ring, turquoise, carnivals, popping balloons.
DISLIKES: His mother, talking about his parents, waiting around, dark chocolate, hangovers, the sun shining into his bedroom, basil, being late to his grandparents, people wearing masks, being lied to, losing his temper, being judged, well done steaks, getting slapped, passing out, roaches.
FEARS: Failing, his grandparents disowning him, cockroaches.
SECRETS: He’s amazingly good at styling hair after dealing with his own for years. He can make a beehive like no other, but since his passion is in art and not hair styling, he tends to keep it to himself. Although he has a little cousin who can attest to how good he is from the amount of times he’s fixed her braids or whipped up something remarkable with her dolls when he’s looked after her.
PERSONALITY: Lochlan has spent his whole life being judged by others. As such he’s been left disheartened by much of life and often can be closed off from others. He doesn’t mean to be a jerk, but sometimes he comes across that way because he’s having a rough day or someone’s said the wrong thing to him. He’s impulsive and a little brash at times. There have been plenty of troublesome moments in Lochlan’s life, and probably more to come because he’s attracted to the danger; it makes him feel alive. It’s why he sometimes loses his cool a little too easily, just for the rush of a fight. He’s got a short fuse and he’s known to kick off over the smallest of things sometimes. He’s got it in him to be a good man, but he sometimes casts it aside because he doesn’t believe in himself. He’s creative with a natural talent for art that has gotten him through quite a bit in his life, but his frustrations still linger and threaten to destroy everything he works hard for. He’s a pathological flirt who loves a pretty girl and won’t shy away from trying to charm her into his bed. He’s in no place mentally or emotionally for a serious relationship, but that doesn’t stop Lochlan from sleeping with most of the women he meets. He can be lonely quite often and they offer a temporary fix to that emptiness inside. Plus, they go well with a cold beer and a good song.MOTHER: Lisa-Marie Terranova, 44.

HISTORY: Juliet and Giovanni tried their best with their daughter, but Lisa-Marie was trouble. She always had been. She was rebellious and hard work and when she moved out at eighteen they were too tired to stop her. She would always be welcome back home, but the truth was that the years that followed were filled with a series of hospital pick ups and calls from the police asking them to come and collect their daughter. Lisa-Marie liked to party and she was a mess, too. She would do just about anything for a good time, and to get herself a little fix of something to make her feel good when she was feeling pretty low. So falling pregnant was the worst thing for her. What made it even more complicated was that she had no idea who the father was. She had been sleeping with a few guys for different reasons at that time. One paid her rent, another got her drugs and the rest had just made her feel good or gave her money for it. Lisa-Marie wasn’t ashamed of that, but she didn’t want a baby ruining her image. She was going to get rid of it, but she missed her appointment because she was sleeping off a hangover from hell and did the same for the second one – she couldn’t say no to a party. In the end she had missed her chance and had to have “the wretched thing” as she kept calling it.
Lisa-Marie didn’t slow down during her pregnancy and she was on a night out when she went into labour. She had no clue when the baby was due, hadn’t even been to half of the appointments she ought to have been to. In general, she didn’t give a damn about her kid. She just wanted to keep on doing what she was doing. So, Lochlan was born smaller than he ought to be and suffering because of Lisa-Marie’s neglect for his wellbeing during her pregnancy. He was looked after by the nursing staff and the doctors, but Lisa-Marie made no effort to bond with her son. She just called her friends to tell them she would be back out again soon, and then spent most of the time complaining that she was bored and in pain. There was talk of putting the newborn into care before Giovanni and Juliet showed up and promised to take in their grandson. He was beautiful to them and just because Lisa-Marie didn’t want him didn’t mean they didn’t. Plus they had hopes that given time she might develop a maternal bond to him, come around to the idea of motherhood. It was a little while before the doctors gave the all clear for the grandparents to take their grandson home, but when they did they already had a name for him; Lochlan, after the doctor who had looked after him, and Shiloh, after Giovanni’s brother who had recently passed away.
Lochlan was raised by his grandparents who did their best with him. Lisa-Marie showed up from time to time, usually making snide remarks at the little boy who looked more like the man she couldn’t remember than her. There was definitely signs of his Italian heritage in his features, but he had very few physical traits of his mother. Giovanni tried to get his daughter to bond with her son but there was nothing there. The few times Lisa-Marie did take Lochlan out she abandoned him at the park when one of her ‘businessmen’ came along and another time Lochlan called his grandparents from a smoky bar to tell them he was scared and his mommy had gone into a back room with some scary men and was acting weird. She wasn’t a great mother, never would be and she only seemed to get worse with age and not better. Lochlan eventually grew up to resent his mother and everything she was.
He knew that Lisa-Marie was cheap and sold herself for a quick fix. He didn’t need the schoolyard taunts to learn that. However that was where he wound up fighting. He would get into scraps with other kids who teased him about his dad, bullied him for what he was. His grandparents tried to straighten him out plenty of times, but he shared that same rebellious streak as his mother. He wasn’t a party animal, but a lone wolf. He kept to himself, stayed out late and stumbled home after stealing beer for himself. The only good thing he felt he had in his life was art. Lochlan had a natural talent and he worked at it for hours most days when he was in his own company. His drawings were of the people he saw in the neighbourhood, at school, or down at the beachfront. He focused on the details, sketched them well and it was art where he excelled. An art teacher pushed him into applying to college because Lochlan didn’t see the point beforehand. He wasn’t the smartest kid and he was still fighting his way through school most days. He didn’t go with the rest of his class, instead taking a year out to make up his mind, ultimately deciding to take his teacher’s advice.
He didn’t move too far from home, enrolling at NYU, and settling in to the dorms there for a while. He got a job at an arcade and then found himself living a life where people didn’t judge him for who his mother was or what she did. Lochlan didn’t trust people, it felt too strange for him, but it was a fresh start. Now Lochlan is a sophomore, but he’s still got a lot to learn about life and the person he wants to be.
