PERSONALITY: Blair is a no nonsense man who isn’t afraid to get a little dirty to get what he wants. He’s known what he’s wanted for his life since he’d been a freshman in high school. Take charge, when Blair had his sights set on something, or someone, he does everything in his power to get that and keep it. He worked his ass off to get into Princeton, he worked his ass off to write that first novel and he worked his ass off to get his work as a journalist published. He wasn’t just a novelist or a journalist, he was a writer and he wrote about anything and everything. He’s an athletic man but not the type that spends hours on end in a gym, trying to build himself up. A bit of a sarcastic ass, Blair love to rise up to a challenge. A short fuse he does not have but he’s hardly the patient type in the long term. Short term, definitely but he’s got a short attention span when it comes to work and knows it well. He can sit for hours in front of a computer and only write two pages. He actually loves getting his hands dirty with the research part of writing. A poet, Blair does have a way with words but he hardly uses this particular skill unless he’s trying to woo a woman of interest. He’s a bit of a ladies man, some might even say he can be a bit of a manwhore but he wouldn’t go so far as to say that. He’s quite the charmer, weaving his words to get what he wants fairly easily. A flirt definitely but he’s also quite the romantic when it comes to the women in his life that he’s interested in.MOTHER: Janice Knight & 62.

HISTORY: Janice and Roger knew each other in high school but weren’t part of the same social circles. Roger was rock and roll grunge and long greasy hair, Janice was all about the bell bottoms sequined jumpsuits, big permed hair, loud makeup and disco music. They constantly said the meanest things to each other but neither of them gave up. When graduation rolled around, they thought they’d finally been rid of the other, only to find out they were attending the same college and their rooms were on the same floor; in the same hall even. They continued their little dance all through college though it wasn’t until they were donning their caps and gowns once again that Roger finally made a move. As did Janice. They talked over each other, laughed, did it again before Roger just pointed at Janice and she smiled. It wasn’t long after that they were moving in together, Roger proposed and after a fifteen month engagement, most of which was spent working to save money for the day, they were happily married in the gardens of a lovely hotel in Upstate New York.
Fast forward through three years of marriage, two promotions and one unfortunate miscarriage, and Hunter was born. Four years filled with dirty diapers, late nights and two bouts of colic, not to mention a first day of school and Roger and Janice gave Hunter a baby brother, Blair. He was a fussy baby but ultimately a good kid. There was colic when his age could still be counted in single digit months, a broken forearm at two after skipping the learning how to walk portion of growing up and heading right into running, head first into the mahogany bookshelf in his father’s home office. Blair’s childhood was pretty good all things considered. He played soccer for the city’s travel team and was quite good in fact but it was really just a game to him. He loved it but wanted something else from life. Of course, back then, he had absolutely no idea what it was. He wanted to be so many things. They went into New York City every year until the move when he was eleven, to spend Christmas in the city.
They were a fairly wealthy family with old ties but new money and the board of Roger’s company all agreed it was best for the company to move to New York, where the real business was. So when Blair was eleven, the family moved from their rather quiet upstate home into a wonderful little place in Brooklyn. It wasn’t Manhattan but the family wasn’t one to boast and all those designer labels and bad attitudes were not what they were about. Blair loved plaid and ripped skinny jeans and rock music and playing a spy to get to the bottom of things. He loved climbing trees and running around acting completely foolish. He loved being a kid. And that was what his parents wanted him for him and Hunter. Freshman year of high school rolled around and that was where he first met his best fried, Greg. Hunter was five years older so most of the people who knew him, wouldn’t know Blair and he was floundering. He’d been transferred to a different school for high school so he literally knew no one at all. But Greg took him under his wing and introduced him to people, and they’d been best friends ever since.
Four years flew by though and they were parting ways to head off to college. Greg went on to become a lawyer, while Blair figured out back in freshman year that he wanted to be a journalist; or an author. He knew he wanted to be a writer but what he wrote was still undecided so he did everything he could get his hands on that would give him a path. In the end, by the time he was a senior, he’d already had his first book published. But it still hadn’t given him a path to walk down. And he graduated with a degree but only knowing that he was a good novelist. He worked his way up a ladder but writing assignments he couldn’t choose wasn’t what he was after. Still, he knew the game so he played for as long as he could. And in that time he wrote two more books and figured out that waiting around for assignments wasn’t what he wanted. He talked it over and found a way he could do both. He started freelancing, and found he liked all the aspects better than being in an office every day. That wasn’t for him.
And he went everywhere. He went to Haiti and the Sudan and all over those war torn areas in the news. And he always came back remarkably unscathed. A bit more scruff than when he went over, once or twice even sporting a full beard but unscathed nonetheless. He wrote about everything and anything he wanted and loved it. In the last year or so, things have started to look up for Blair Knight and became a little more cloak and dagger for him as well. He’s had another book published, his name is well known in the world of journalism and he started having a sort of no strings attached affair with his best friend’s little sister, whom he’d always considered a friend sure but she had been one of the guys and Greg’s sister, so completely off limits. But one night after a dozen too many shots, he found himself escorting Stevie home, being the good best friend of big brother but he still woke up the next morning naked and curled up with Stevie in her bed. He had agreed that Greg could never find out and had thought it would be a one time thing but it happened again. And then it started to happen while they were sober and though they haven’t actually put any titles to it, they both agreed that Greg could never find out. Greg was practically his brother, Blair loved him as such and knew it would be a devastating blow if he never wanted to see Blair again.
