Longer in length most of the time, the shortest she’s ever had it is around her shoulders, and even then she grows it out long. She likes styling it different ways and trying to find new cute things to do with it, but naturally it’s poker straight.
EYES: Blue.
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: None.
TATTOOS: She has an outline of a heart tattooed on her right forearm just below her wrist. She got it done right before she left home with her sister – they drew the hearts on each other and then went and got them inked. Their parents went mad.

DISLIKES: chocolates, drunks, sleazy guys, people making judgements, bullies, feeling sad, not being able to help someone, rats, violence, men thinking she’s easy, broccoli, running, cynicism, unnecessary crudeness, vulgarity, greasy hair, a hot drink going cold, eating too much junk food, the smell of liquorice.
FEARS: rats, losing someone she could have saved, sleeping with any closet/cupboards doors open.
SECRETS: Emerson keeps journals and writes in them each night. She tells them her deepest feelings and thoughts and then puts them back in the cupboard beside her bed, locked with the key around her neck.
PERSONALITY: Emerson is a sweet and charitable woman with a heart of gold. She's selfless and has always put others first. Trustworthy and the kind to trust others, Emerson believes in second chances and giving people the benefit of the doubt. She understand that people are imperfect and make mistakes, and is willing to overlook them most of the time. She’s helpful and always the first to reach out to someone in need. An optimist who always looks on the bright side, Emerson doesn’t have time for people who are always putting down others, or shrugging off hard work. She believes in hard work and dedication, but is modest about her own while she’ll heap praise on others. She’s educated, and enjoys learning more. She’s friendly and one of the most loyal friends a person could ever have. She’s accepting and forgiving, and rarely ever lets her temper show. Emerson does, however, voice her opinion and lets people know when they’ve upset her or others. She won’t sit back and let people use each other. When it comes to love, Emerson would like to find ‘the one’. She’ll only date if there is a real connection there, and often knocks a guy back before there’s even been a chance to talk – she’s sick of guys flirting with her in the hopes of some kind of quick fling, and occasionally cuts something off before she can see where it goes. She likes romantic things though, and enjoys a cultured man.MOTHER: Katarina Genna Moss, 52.

HISTORY: Kat and Al met at a bar one night, flirted over absolute nonsense, and made plans to meet up the following Friday. Another successful date led to another and they married three years later, a baby followed and then came two more. The family lived in a nice house inherited from Al’s uncle. Al worked as a data analyst while Kat was a high school teacher at a local Catholic school. They were a typical loving family who raised their kids well, taught them the best of manners and encouraged them to try their hardest and follow their dreams.
Emerson did just that. From the youngest age she was a sweetheart who would help everyone she met. It would never enough though and she wanted to help more, do more. That was how she developed an interest in charity work and wanted to donate her allowance every time she got it. Her parents had to arrange a small monthly programme in the end in her name so that she didn’t spend all her money growing up on other people. She was easily used by other people when she was little, but her big sister Rose toughened her up and showed her how to stand up for herself without being unnecessarily rude about it. Emerson knew from her first year of school that she would become a nurse. It was all she talked about and eventually it became all she worked towards.
In school Emerson was a kid that everyone just sort of got on with, but she only really had a few close friends. Emerson always made high grades, and she took part in a few extra activities, like school council and year book committee. She was a nice girl who didn’t fall for the bad boys or rebel. She knew what she wanted and remained focused on that when she was growing up. It didn’t matter if guys approached her, or kids called her a chicken for not going along with something they were all doing. Emerson would rather follow her dreams and make them come true. When she graduated high school, she went to college in Arizona to study nursing.
The years flew by and Emerson made some true friends there. She worked hard, even did a year of studying in Paris as part of an exchange program that the college ran. She avoided the party scene for the most part, or if she did go she was usually the one rounding up her friends and making sure they got home alright. She never got drunk or hooked up with any of the college boys. There was a guy on her course who she dated for a few months, but he broke up with her when he realised that Emerson was serious about her commitment to not sleeping around, or sleeping with just anyone. Emerson really did want to wait for the right person.
After graduating college, Emerson worked in a local hospital for a few months before she was accepted by a charity to go and work in Africa. It was one of her dreams to work in an area that really needed medical staff and she flew out there with excitement and nerves. She was excellent with the children, learnt wonderful things from the local villages and would go to check up on the families she helped to treat. Emerson explored as much as she could, met great people, worked with those who wanted to help others like her. It was wonderful, but she wanted to do more. She was helping in the clinics there, but she was thinking about going back to college and training as a doctor. Being a nurse had been an ambition from when she was a little girl, but Emerson longed to be able to help more rather than passing patients over to someone else. It was only after she contracted malaria that she made her decision. She was in one of the beds she usually tended to, in a haze whilst her colleagues treated her and got her better, and she knew what she wanted to do.
With a heavy heart she left Africa, a college place at NYU waiting for her after one of the doctors she worked with had helped her make the arrangements from their village. Her plan was to complete her education and training and then head back out on the Doctors Without Borders program. She’s only on her freshman year, letting it wrap up nicely now, but Emerson is happy. Having her pre-existing medical knowledge gives her an edge, but she wants to know everything and is catering her degree and training towards tropical medicine.
