She dances to the beat of her own drum but she’s a loyal and very friendly person. She may act like she’s some outrageous girl but she’s quite grounded as well. Roxy knows what she wants from life and she’s stubborn and determined enough to chase after it with everything she has in her. She’s a charming little thing but don’t be fooled by the playful exterior, Roxy has an impressive temper. She keeps a tight hold on it because it never ends well but it’s there, under the surface. New York isn’t Roxy’s fresh start, it’s her beginning. Her father was a New Yorker before he’d moved to Germany so the city had always called to her and she finally got the chance to answer the call. HISTORY: Henry moved to Germany for work when he’d been in his twenties. He was good at what he did and rose through the company rather quickly. Having lived in Berlin for a few years, a few friends wanted to set him up on a date, which he agreed to because they were pestering him so much. They introduced him to Elsie. They had a nice, fancy dinner, they went dancing and Henry invited her back to his place, and she never left afterwards. Their friends teased them about it but they worked and seemed perfect for each other. Each adoring the other, quirks and all. They were married six very short months later and remained blissfully happy. Eventually, they decided to start a family. They were both financially stable and they felt ready. But before they really started picking out rooms and baby names, Henry’s company decided to open a new office in Dresden, Germany.
In the end, this turned out to be a blessing and the Wells had two little girls, five years apart, Gisela and Roxanne. They got to grow up in a wonderful, old city that was as congested or as modern as Berlin. They heard all about New York where Henry grew up and attended school before moving and they heard what Berlin had been like for her mother to grow up in. But they found, they were lucky to grow up in Dresden. They got to surround themselves with the old without it mixing with the new and it was great. At least, Roxy thought so. She loved how everything looked, it had sparked many interests in the young blonde. Roxy’s childhood was much like any other child’s really. She had a good home, a crazy couple of parents who acted more like teenagers than their teenagers did. Though Gisela and Roxy weren’t as close as they could have been, Roxy did feel like she could go to Gisela with any problems, though she also felt that way with her parents. If she ever had any problems, she could turn to them and they could all figure out the best course of action.
That was how they found out Gisela was pregnant at seventeen. She gave birth to a healthy baby girl a couple months after her eighteenth birthday. She lived at home while she attended college, not willing to give up her studies because she’d gotten pregnant and had a child. Roxy babysat her niece as much as she could because she adored the little girl. The baby’s father, she could take or leave, even at twelve she knew she wasn’t fond of him but what could she say? She knew it wasn’t her place so she kept her mouth shut and hoped for the best. As it turned out, Gisela realised quickly enough that her baby daddy was completely useless and kicked him to the side of the road. The household became a lot lighter after that and Roxy continued on in pleasant surroundings once again.
A few years later, Roxy landed herself a part time gig at the museum, giving tours to those who wanted a live guide and not a recorded one after school and on weekends. It was fun, she enjoyed herself and that was where she’d met her friend Micah. He was seven years older than her and treated her like a little sister and she thought of him as an older brother figure. Eventually she got the bright idea to introduce him to Gisela and Lorelai. He knew about both of course, Roxy wasn’t one to keep things bottled up. Her parents teased that she had no filter and didn’t know when to zip it. But Micah had laughed and one day after her shift, she’d asked Gisela to pick her up because Micah couldn’t drop her off. A total lie and was in fact standing outside with Micah when her sister and niece walked up to them. Those introductions were made and the pair got along well. So much so Micah started hanging around a lot and he and Gisela went out quite often both with and without Lorelai.
Days turned weeks turned years, which turned into a proposal, a wedding and a move into a cozy three bedroom home for the young and happy family. Roxy was seventeen and already went through two boyfriends of her own, neither of which lasted long. Roxy got bored, she got annoyed and she found herself parting ways with the boys in her life because they were too annoying and too childish for her. By this time, Roxy was looking abroad to finish up her schooling. She’d heard so much about New York that she was almost desperate to go and see what it was all about. When she told her parents her plans, they thought it was an excellent idea. Gisela hadn’t been able to travel and see the world but she’d managed to get a degree all the same. Roxy was different, she wasn’t going to do the same things her sister was, learn from her lessons to create her own messes.
She packed up her things, said goodbye to her family and moved to the other side of the world. She’d already been a bit of a wild child, hitting up clubs and discos, dancing the night away from before she’d even been old enough to get into the buildings. It was fun and exciting for her, and that hadn’t changed when she’d moved. She found a little apartment, nothing fancy but something her parents could share with her when they visited her in the city. She stayed with her grandparents for the first few months, just long enough to get herself a job and save enough money to find that apartment she adored so much. Fast forward two years, Roxy is just as wild as she was before but she knows when to pull out that responsible card and these days she’s not at all certain she wants to run on back to Dresden and her family. New York has all sorts to keep a girl like Roxy interested for years and she still had so much to see.
