Confident - She doesn't let things get to her easily. It takes a lot to shake her confidence. Now, she isn't cocky. She knows she's pretty and a good person, but she doesn't go around advertising it.
Stubborn - She never gives up. She always has to get her way, and she stands her ground for things she believes in. Sometimes she can get hot headed from standing her ground so much.
Driven - If she gets knocked down, she gets right back up and goes twice as hard at it. She doesn't let things deter her from going for what she wants in life.
Quiet - She doesn't say a lot verbally. She has a lot to say, but she doesn't. She doesn't see the need to say things that will just end up biting her in the butt another day. She sits there and thinks about what she's going to say before she says them.MOTHER: Rachel - 58

HISTORY:
Liz was born in Namibia, but she didn't stay there long at all. Her mother handed her over to an adoption agent, wanting the little baby to have a better life than what she could have in Namibia. So, when she was six months old, all of the paper work was done and Nathan and Rachel took their little girl home. Her life was pretty near perfect when it started out. She was their only kid, and she loved being their only kid. But, when Liz was three, her mother became pregnant and had her little brother. As hard as they tried to make Liz feel like they still wanted and loved her, nothing seemed to calm the sinking feeling in her that they loved Oliver more than her.
She started acting like she was on her best behavior, getting perfect grades and pushing herself to do everything she possibly could to get further ahead in her life. Her parents loved having such a smart little girl, but she still didn't feel that she could compete with their blood child. She never let Oliver know she resented him; she actually loved Oli. She always wanted to protect him and make sure he was okay. Some nights she even slept in his room if she felt that something were going to happen to him. That didn't stop her jealousy, though.
All throughout high school, she was the perfect student. No missed days. Straight A's. Kept her head down and didn't get into trouble. Joined loads of clubs. Graduated at the top of her class. She even got a full-ride to a college three hours away from them. So she went. She thought maybe it would make her parents proud, even though they told her they were proud of her no matter what. Her Freshman year of college, she met Josh and Becca. Josh was her RA and Becca was her roommate, who eventually became her best friend. The three of them hung out all the time, making memories she would never forget. Her sophomore year, Josh asked Liz to be his girlfriend, and they dated throughout the rest of her college career. She took him home to meet her parents and Oliver. She finally felt that she belonged and her jealousy dwindled down. She didn't feel the need to be their perfect child anymore, though it had become her personality.
The day Liz graduated from college, Josh proposed to her. He even had his best friend (who he opened a photography studio with) take her reaction picture. She said yes, of course, and they got married when she turned twenty-five. Neither of them wanted kids anytime soon, so they put that on hold and just traveled the world together. She wrote columns for newspapers all over the world, and he took the pictures for the articles. They were the married-duo. They had many fun times together while traveling, and Liz learned the cultures and languages of the people in each place.
They were visiting home when Liz was about thirty-one, and they rented a small apartment so they could be closer to their families for a little bit of time. Becca came around more. Josh wanted kids and Liz was willing to have them for him, but things weren't working well. Liz couldn't get pregnant, and Josh began blaming her and drinking. He began verbally abusing her, and they fought constantly. Liz became tired and stayed at work for longer periods of time. One day, when came home, she found Becca there. Becca and Josh were sitting on the couch, chatting, Becca's face red and tear-stained. Liz knew something was up. She stood at the door, ready to run if she needed to. Becca told her she was pregnant, and that the baby was Josh's. That devastated Liz. She immediately left, going to her mom's house. She cried and went through a few weeks of depression. She blamed herself for the marriage falling apart. After all, she was the one who couldn't have kids.
And one morning, Liz woke up and decided she was going to move to where Oli lived: New York. She wanted to be around her little brother. She thought that maybe it would snap her out of the slump she was in. Plus, Becca and Josh would never know where she was if she moved there. So, she packed her things up and moved to New York City, buying an apartment and adopting a kitten from a shelter. She got a job at the New Yorker, and she's been trying to get back on her feet.
