PERSONALITY: Edward is a complicated man, to sum it up into a few words. Edward has sever depression and suffers deeply from anxiety, making his job more than a peculiar choice. This degrades his mental state often, as he is a musician, yet his anxiety would prevent him from playing any shows. Edward is not without his compassionate side though, granted he mostly shows it to his adopted daughter Marilyn. Edward's depression makes it difficult for him to cope with the world, as the past still scars him.
Edward has been known to fly off the handle from time to time, and when he does, it tends to end in an ugly manner. A few times he's lost his temper with his adopted daughter, nothing serious enough for him to get bad though. Edwards's heart is big, but damaged, and he feels he will never recover, but he knows he must, and he struggles with that. The weight of raising a child has been heavy on him, but he has loved every moment of it. Until she starts dating....oh how Edward will have words for that man.MOTHER: Cecilia Gonzalez

HISTORY: Edward's parents were...bad people to be nice about it. His father had been in and out of prisons for years, for one reason or another. His mother, well she was a con artist, and while she loved her son, she couldn't properly support him. So when Edward's father was doing another stretch for his newest assault, his mother gave Edward up for adoption. The first five years are a blur to Edward, as nothing in particular happened.
Edward got in his first fight at the age of six, attempting to help his friend that was being picked on by a thirteen year old boy. It was a quick fight, but it was bloody, Edward had broken the boy's nose by accident. Edward had to be relocated, and for the next ten years that's all Edward did, move from foster care to foster care. Edward had no intention of passing any of his high school classes, yet ended up doing so by a narrow margin. Edward found work and was quick to get himself emancipated so that he could be on his own, it was during this time he fell in love with music.
Upon having been emancipated, Edward found what he swore was the woman of his dreams. She was everything to him, and she expressed that she felt the same, and the two were happy. It was only a year later that Edward proposed to her, wanting nothing more than to be with her for the rest of his life. Edward saw life finally looking up, but as all things do, there must be an end.
A year later she was taken from him due to lung cancer. Edward was a wreck, sinking into a deep depression, attempting several times to commit suicide. Edward became a total recluse after he had failed believing there to be a reason. So he did what he did best, he left. Edward spent two years on the road, finally settling in New York when he reached twenty. Finding a job was difficult, until he looked to his vices, finding that being a bartender was much easier than he had thought.
Four years passed, and Edward had still been living in his depression, set in his routine. Finding music as his solace, he practiced, singing songs for himself alone in his scrappy one bedroom apartment. It was within this year that he met his adopted daughter Marilyn. He had been playing when she entered his home, scared and alone.
At first Edward wanted to take her to the police, to help her find her parents but when she told him of her journey he let her stay. He didn't want another to suffer in the system, and he wouldn't turn her away. It was a long road, but he took it in stride, he now had a reason to live, and while he could never thank her enough, he was alright with that. He just hoped he would be enough for her.

SAMPLE: It had been eight years almost, and he was out of ideas. What could he do for her birthday this time? Previous years were perfect, but this wasn't sure. He could play for her again, but that might have been far to much of a reminder of when she was younger. What was left? The ideas bombarding him were begining to annoy him, make him angry. His muscles tensed beneath his skin, a few veins popping out. What about a special painting? A tattoo maybe? Then it hit him, that's exactly what he could do. The weight hit him, he didn't know how shed react. Granted he never doubted Marilyn had seen his back before. If she had though, then she at least hadn't said anything. He wondered if he should ask her, but quickly dissmised it. There was no surprise in talking about it. Edward pondered for a minute, quickly pulling his phone out, he had a few calls to make.
