SECRETS: She has a nasty scar on her left side from a dog attack. A neighbour’s pet doberman got loose, thought he was playing and nipped at her. Unfortunately, she'd been eight, small and he nipped a little too hard. It was a complete accident, she'd never had trouble with the dog before nor after but it scared her enough to dislike Doberman type dogs. She doesn't willingly show it off and when it is seen and questioned, she just says it was an old accident and leaves it at that.
PERSONALITY: Hettie is a colourful and it shows in all aspects of her life. She's vibrant, a little on the innocent side but also a bit of a wild child. She loves a good party but she's responsible as well. New York is a whole new place for this Scottish girl but that's not stopping her from doing what she pleases. She's feisty, stubborn and refuses to let things get to her. She's got quite the temper but letting it loose doesn't always benefit her so she holds it in tight. She's tough, not letting the hurtful words thrown her way get to her. She can hold her liquor better than most and she believes the bouncers of her new home are complete idiots since they take one look at her Scottish ID and their eyes cross before they just let her in. She doesn't think herself the smartest person in the room but after that first night out, it's clear she's a hell of a lot smarter than the people letting her walk on by. Hettie is a creative soul, loving to dress herself up with funky makeup and hairstyles everyday just for something to do and take pictures of it all. She's a determined young girl, expecting quite a bit from herself and her experience in New York. She wants so much from life and she's definitely not afraid to chase after it.MOTHER: Morgan Holliday & 49.

HISTORY: Morgan and Alan met on the beaches of Monaco. Morgan was there, working as an Au Pair for a wonderful couple who had the cutest six year old twin girls and a seven year old boy. The three of them got into so much trouble but Morgan knew how to deal with them and did so with enthusiasm. Alan and a few of his friends were there on vacation. He didn't come from family money, his parents made their fortune owning a couple bed and breakfast places in Scotland that centered on the history of the places they were located. Some were more affordable to stay while others were at the higher end of things, costing far more a night to visit. But it all meant that he and his boarding school friends could vacation wherever they chose and that summer they'd picked Monte Carlo out of a hat. The pair met on the beach, Alan assuming the American beauty was there with friends until the twins rushed over from where they'd been playing to show her the little hermit crab they'd discovered. And after some backpedaling, explanations and laughter, the truth of her job came to light. They laughed, went on a few dates but then Alan's vacation was over and he had to return home to university.
They thought it was over, they'd had their summer romance and at twenty four, Morgan thought she might never find someone like him ever again. Morgan continued to work for the Claire family for a couple more years but when their eldest son was ten and the twins nine, the family uprooted to Edinburgh from London. Mr Claire was a television producer and his company needed him at their Scottish offices so they moved. It was there that Morgan and Alan reunited by accident. He'd taken his niece to the same park that Morgan took her kids. They started seeing each other and when the twins were twelve, Morgan said goodbye to being their full time nanny. She married Alan and they moved in together in a small starter home. A year later, they had their first child, a little girl they named Henrietta, after Morgan's grandmother, the woman who had raised her. Hettie was a bright and happy child, always getting herself into trouble because she was curious.
As she grew older and learned to dress herself, she chose bright colours, mixing and matching everything she could with everything she had. Her parents laughed and teased that she was going to become some designer of some sort. When she was five, the now family of four moved into a bigger home with a nicer back garden, in a nice neighbourhood by the water in Edinburgh, closer to the primary school her mother taught at and Hettie attended. Her childhood was pretty normal and her teenage years were filled with experimentation like any other teenager. She tried her hand at alcohol, a little trespassing and after getting a stern lecture and a warning, chose never to do it again. She coloured her hair every bright colour she could get her hands on, always returning to the colours that showed more vibrantly.
She worked at a local cafe, a block away from her house to earn some money of her own, choosing to stay away from any of the many hotels and quaint little bed and breakfast's that her family owned. The time to figure out her next step came too soon for her parents but Hettie knew exactly what she wanted. She wanted to become a makeup artist, maybe for the stage, maybe for television shows or movies. She didn't know which yet but that was what she wanted to do with her life. She looked around Scotland for a school but in the end, she chose to pick a school overseas and started to get her things in order. The tuition was nothing the family couldn't handle but finding a place to stay that wasn't a dorm proved to be more difficult. In the end, after a couple short trips to New York, Hettie and her parents chose a cute little two bedroom apartment in a secure building by the park for her to live. They filled the space with eclectic furniture that fit Hettie perfectly. Shortly after that, her parents returned to Scotland and Hettie hit the road, searching out a job that would fill the spare time she would have. She was new to the city, didn't know a single soul in the country even but knew she couldn't hide away in her apartment when she didn't have classes. In the end, she found herself an assistant job at a florists, the owner taking a chance of the colourful Scot.
