SECRETS: Sawyer was in a serious accident when he was fourteen but managed to come away with it virtually unscathed with only a broken leg, scratches, bruises and a minor concussion from his head hitting the headrest of his seat. This accident was his starting point for his passion and hopeful career in forensic science. He tells people that he saw a show on TV and that was what caught his interest but it’s a lie
PERSONALITY: Sawyer isn’t your typical, or rather stereotypical Englishman. Born a city boy, he has a country boy’s heart and spirit of adventure. He tries to be confident in everything he does. He’s a loyal friend, sticking up for what he believes to be right and fighting for those beliefs; even arguing when he knows he’s right to get his point across. A friendly guy, Sawyer will do anything at all for his friends. He’ll come across as quiet or even shy but his friends and family know better than that. He’s got a heart for adventure, loves speed and motorcycles. After the accident, Sawyer shied away from four wheels and when he was able to get a licence, chose two wheels over four. He liked how he could hear the wind whistling past him, how it felt so free and he could maneuver easier, faster. Sawyer is the determined type, studious by choice, not by nature. He took more time to study after the accident, after deciding what he wanted to do when he grew up. A sweet guy, Sawyer always has a caring shoulder for a friend in need. If it were up to him, he would spend all his time outside, moving around, being active and athletic, but that isn’t how things work, though thankfully, he doesn’t have to spent excessive amounts of time confined to the walls of the library. He’s a smart guy with a knack for picking up knowledge and remembering what he’s read

HISTORY: Sawyer doesn’t know how his parents met, he only knows they were married when he was born and stayed together through the years. They had a fun relationship and Sawyer always felt as though he could talk to his parents about anything. He was a rambunctious child growing up, rolling around in the dirt and climbing trees. His uncle owned a farm with more land than he needed so growing up, Thompson often took Sawyer out to the farm to play with his cousins, ride around on the dirt bikes. Back then, he had never thought he would be the type to enjoy riding a motorcycle on the streets, but he did, eventually. His childhood was pretty average otherwise.
When he was fourteen, Sawyer was driving home with his father from a friend’s house when a car swerved into their lane and hit them head on. Sawyer would have walked away from the accident if he hadn’t broken his leg in two places, needing pins. He only had a few scrapes and scratches. His father had it a bit harder, having had the steering wheel shoved into his stomach. All things considered, they were very lucky. The other driver, not so much; he suffered internal injuries which he succumbed to on the operating table. The crime scene unit had arrived while Sawyer was being checked out by the EMTs and he was fascinated with them. From then on, he was interested in doing what they did, figuring out the solution to the puzzle they were left with. So, when he was old enough, he applied to school with excellent forensic science programs and also took a minor in criminology after deciding on NYU.
When it came time for Sawyer to get his driver’s licence, he’d been nervous. He didn’t want to drive a car, he hated the things since the accident and did everything he could to avoid them. His fear was lessened after some time, but he still hated the metal contraptions and so chose to drive a motorcycle. He liked the dirt bikes just fine and already knew how to drive the two wheeled beast. It was easier for him to breathe whenever he was driving it, as opposed to even sitting in a car where his breathing became shallow and his heart beat right out of his chest. Since he couldn’t take the bike with him to New York when he moved for school, Sawyer bought another bike to get around the city with. The underground wasn’t his thing either, even though it was not a car. If he’s not getting around the city on his bike, he’s walking.
