DISLIKES: bullies, drunkards, partying all the time, jerks, people being nasty to those he cares about, facial hair getting too out of control, people being ungrateful, his car being dirty, getting stuck on a video game, people distracting him when he’s rebuilding a hard-drive from scratch, getting caught in the rain when it’s been a bad day, seeing homeless people on the streets.
FEARS: losing those he loves, Being stung by a jelly fish, Having a terminal illness
SECRETS: He has thought about moving back to Arles, for family and the sake of his son, but he hasn’t mentioned it to anyone since his life is in New York and people might be hurt be the decision, if he ever made it..
PERSONALITY: Guys don’t come much sweeter than Marc. He’s forever putting other people before himself and thinking about what they’d want from him. He’s not a fighter. He’s never thrown a punch in his life and he’d prefer to keep it that way. If anyone ever did mess with those he cared for though, then Marc likes to think that he’d be able to stand up for them, no matter what it took. He’s forever been a hopeless romantic, so much so that he can get a little carried away with himself and start planning years into the future, even when he’s only been on one date. That side of him can be a little clingy at times and sometimes Marc has problems with identifying when someone wants to be alone to work or relax. He doesn’t mean to pester them, but he’s just not that perceptive.
The main thing about Marc though is that he is 100% a total nerd. His whole life he’s played video games and been fascinated by computers. It’s the one area of life that drags him away from everything. You can’t stop this guy once he’s in his nerd mind-set. He’ll talk technology until his jaw falls off and when it comes to video games and cult classics, well you’d think he was a child in a toy shop listing off a Christmas list.
His biggest downfall is that he’s trusting, almost too much. He’ll trust someone he’s just met and he’ll help them with anything. It’s a great quality for a friend to have, but it means he’s vulnerable to being used and abused by the wrong kind of people if he’s not careful.

HISTORY: Marc was the second son to be born into the Delabarre family. He had an uneventful childhood and like his siblings spent more time with the hired nannies that with his actual parents. He was just an average little boy until his brother Cyril was born. Cyril was blind and Marc instantly wanted to look after him, care for him and guide him. He didn’t care that his younger brother got more attention than him and Marc was quite happy to give Cyril just as much attention. When he started learning to read, Marc would even read his school books aloud to Cyril, just to include him more in his life.
As he got a little older, Marc developed a fascination for computers and video game consoles. He would spend hours in his bedroom playing the video games that he purchased with his pocket money, or pottering around on his desktop computer, learning how things worked on it and how they could be programmed further.
By the time he was a teenager, Marc had developed into a full blown nerd and he was rather proud of it, despite mocking and teasing from his older brother, Jean Paul. He was closest to his brother Cyril still, and still helped him whenever he needed it (just so long as it wasn’t in the middle of a BOSS fight!)
When Marc started high school, he was enrolled in a private French school in Arles, just like the rest of his siblings. They had reputations of the others to live up to, but Marc didn’t mind being the nerd who could save the homework at the last minute by quickly fiddling with some codes on the old computer systems. It was through that, that he met Daphne, a girl who he became besotted with after only a few weeks of dating her. Marc was always the one with his head in the clouds and when Celeste was born, he relished in telling her fairytales before bed, just because he wanted to hear all about them again. He longed to be someone’s prince charming or knight in shining armour and for a long time, he hoped that he could be Daphne’s.
Time passed quickly and so did high school. When he graduated, he was no longer the pimply, pubescent, scrawny kid that had walked through the doors a few years back. He was already accepted into university to study computer science and programming and had developed into a very tall, handsome young man, who still retained his obsession with video games and was often getting excited over the latest release.
Things were looking good, but Marc had to face reality. University meant that he’d be away from Daphne and it was with a heavy heart that they mutually decided to break up and give a chance to a fresh college life with nothing holding them back.
It was a depressing start to uni life, but his friends and dorm buddies soon had Marc back on his feet. He had never been a big partier or drinker, but it was the etiquette of university to socialise as much as possible and Marc did just that. He was acing his classes and spending his free time on the consoles with his friends or hanging down at the bar with them.
His life changed again when he was in his senior year of college. His brother Cyril had been accepted to study music in London, England, but because of his blindness would be unable to go alone. Marc offered to go with him and the brothers moved to the new city, Cyril to study his music and Marc was able to complete his own studies in England’s capital too. The brothers had a fun time together and both of them grew up during the time there.
London was also where Marc met Bella. From the moment he had laid his eyes on her, he was enchanted by her and it was no surprise that she played on his mind for an awfully long time, right up until their first date. Even after that, the sparks never faded and Marc found himself falling madly in love with her and almost unable to take his eyes off of her. Even during work, he was happy, singing in French and laughing with everyone he encountered.
Marc thought his life was about to be torn apart though when Bella graduated from UAL and was offered a job in New York. It was perfect for her to achieve her dreams out there and Marc couldn’t stand in her way, but he had a duty to Cyril to look after him and Marc couldn’t just abandon his brother on a whim.
Bella wanted him out there with her and Marc didn’t want to break up with her. It was only when his brother’s girlfriend, Reggie spoke to him, that a solution was finally found. Reggie and Cyril had been in love longer than Marc and Bella and it made sense to Marc that if they were happy with it (which they more than were) then Reggie could move into the apartment and care for Cyril, allowing Marc to move to New York with Bella.
He’d never been more happy than when he said ‘yes’ to moving in with his little actress.
It took a bit of time to get things organised, but marc soon flew out to NY to be with Bella. He got a job at the college, teaching computer science and to quench his own passion, even did a bit on the side, programming systems and networks for the university and other companies in the city. Two years and nothing seems to be pulling him away from Bella, and Marc firmly believes that nothing ever will.
