SECRETS: Maddie never told anyone that she went to rehab and she has a story in place just in case she ever runs into the crowd she used to hang out with
PERSONALITY: Maddie is far from reserved. She is quite the outspoken person actually. She should be shy, with everything she’d gone through but the therapy helped her to see that she needed to get out there and be herself. This feisty brunette will tell you how she sees it and not even blink or think twice about how blunt she’s being about it all. She’s got a sweet smile but don’t let that fool you, she’s had a rough go at life. She moved from Nashville, Tennessee to New York to start fresh. For a recovering addict, Abby loves to dance and hit the clubs for that purpose alone. She has accomplished quite a bit, turning her life around and she’s proud of what she’s done. Abby has a pretty quick wit and flaunts it often. She can’t really sit still, but that’s a side effect of her recovery. She’s working hard to overcome those little quirks and be a better person overall. Because of the drugs she’s got a short temper and sometimes takes things too serious; thought that’s usually an accident. Her little sister often calls her a stereotypical blonde when she gets in those moods, but Abby can be adorable and it helps to get her out of a few things. She’s taking life seriously right now because she fears relapsing, and couldn’t bear to see the disappointment in her sister’s eyes again.

HISTORY: Mark and Vivienne Coltrain were blessed with a loving relationship and an adorable, healthy baby girl a mere 2 years after their marriage. College sweethearts, the pair had planned on bringing up their careers before having children but fate had another plan in mind for them. And at a young twenty five years old for Vivienne, twenty six for Mark, Madison Abigail Coltrain was born. She was a wonderful baby, very happy and hardly fussy. They had some troubles with the flu and little things like that but for the most part she was just a little angel. She was a good toddler, having only a few hiccups and when she was three, the family was graced with another baby girl, Jessica Annabeth Coltrain. Abby was a good big sister, always wanting to help out and hold the new baby.
The years following were also good, she seemed like life was going to be perfect for the family. But with money came opportunities, opportunities to party and meet the wrong people, which is exactly what Miss Abby Marie Coltrain did. Growing up she was a good girl, had so many friends and loved life. She loved to shop and dress up in pretty clothes, often changing five or six times a day! And then high school hit and that's when her fall began. Freshman year was good; she had a pretty easy time adjusting to the new Private school in her hometown of Nashville. Sophomore year started out much the same but it didn’t end that way. By the time winter break came around Abby was already showing signs of her new lifestyle. She snuck out, went to parties all over the city, found alcohol and drugs.
By her senior year she was completely out of control. She dropped out of school and spent all her time with her “friends”. Her parents thought it was all a phase. After all, when she found the hard drugs, she completely gave up the alcohol. So they thought if she found something else, she would drop the drugs; however slowly it would be. But it escalated and two months before eighteenth birthday her father found her in her bathroom, passed out on the floor; close to death. She had overdosed but Mark had found her just in time and called for an ambulance. Because she was still a minor, Mark and Vivienne put Abby in the best rehab facility available in Nashville. It was her wakeup call as well.
Abby went through the program, even got her high school diploma online since she could work at her own pace and if she wasn’t in the therapy sessions, she had nothing else to do. She was in for six months before getting transferred to an outpatient program. While she was still going through the outpatient program and doing very well with everything, Abby applied to a few colleges and universities far away from Tennessee. She didn’t want to be around the place that brought her down that dark path especially now that she was finally getting her life back together. She was accepted to NYU for their Archeology programmes. She’s nineteen now and living on her own. She’s still showing those telltale signs of being an addict with the twitching and the inability to sit still for long periods of time but she’s working really hard to get past that. She wasn’t addicted for as long as some people were but she was far enough along that it was going to take quite a bit of work. The young brunette had always been interested in digging things up, learning about the past to help the future and seeing where people came from. She was particularly obsessed with Ancient Egypt when she was smaller, so it made sense that she would want to go back to school and learn more about that. In New York she got a job in the gift shop of the Museum of Natural History, and she is always working hard to prove that she is a changed girl. With work and school, Abby kept busy and that was exactly what she needed to stay on the path she was on now. She didn’t want to relapse, it terrified her to do that, so as long as she was always busy, she was golden.
