EYES: Big, bright baby blues!
SCARS/BIRTHMARKS: A few fond memories of climbing around tagging but other than that, nothing worth mentioning.
TATTOOS: Too be honest, there’s so many, it’s difficult to keep track. He’s got two full sleeves, his chest is covered and his back has a big piece. His legs aren’t quite full but there’s enough there to joke they are.

FEARS: Never having a family of his own, something happening to his brother, a tree falling on him and squishing him.
SECRETS: Carter wants a family of his own but he’s worried that his appearance will hinder that. He’s quite jealous of his brother and his partner for having what they have. He wants that so badly.
PERSONALITY: Once upon a time, Carter could be considered a bad guy. Well, not so much bad as difficult. Being born and raised in the wrong neighbourhood could do that to a kid but a way out found him and he hasn’t looked back since. These days Carter is the biggest teddy bear anyone could meet! He’s wrapped around his niece’s finger so tight it’s ridiculous. But Carter wouldn’t have it any other way; she’s the only kid in the family after all. Carter is very open minded and non-judgmental; though the judgment does come into play when someone walks into the shop wanting a tattoo with no meaning. He has tons and they each have a story behind them. He’s got a stubborn streak wider than he’d like to admit but he’s got a good soul and good reasons to have that stubborn nature. He’s exceptionally artistic but keeps his master’s degree to himself. In fact, he’s not even sure anyone at Three Kings knows about it! Carter is a super geek and will happily admit to that without a problem. He’s quite proud of that fact! His collection of nerdy graphic tee’s is bigger than some women’s collection of shoes. He and Ryan actually had a long discussion about this one day which turned into a dozen or more inside jokes. He loves a good joke and fancies himself a bit of a prankster though a dirty joke, or any joke comes easier to him than a practical joke.MOTHER: Meredith Thorton & 59.

HISTORY: Carter and Daniel were Bronx boys growing up; at least, in the sense that they were born and raised in the Bronx. It wasn’t so bad, not as bad as movies and television shows made it out to be, but then, the brothers weren’t the best kids on the block either. Carter had been caught a couple times tagging. The first time, he was let go with a stern talking to. The second, the cop, an older detective drove him around for a bit in an extremely awkward silence and then pulled into an all-night diner. He ordered apple pie with ice cream and a coffee and finally spoke. It wasn’t anything at all like what Carter was expecting. In fact, none of it had anything to do with what Carter had been picked up for! Mostly, Benny spoke about the apple pie, the waitress who served him every time he visited and how the cook in the back liked to cut corners on the meals so he could feed the homeless guy around the block. It wasn’t until he was paying, getting ready to leave that he really got down to the business at hand. Carter had been twelve at the time, just a child with a stubborn streak a mile wide. But he was a good person, deep down. He was just on the wrong track and that needed to be remedied.
So Benny brought Carter home, sat down with his parents, his brother and spoke of too many options for Carter and for Daniel. He was nine and looked up to his brother with shining eyes. It took quite a bit of time and effort but Carter dug his way out of the bad groups and turned towards more creative outputs for his energy. His brother tried to keep up with the bad kids but with an ever increasing good influence in the house, it was difficult and in a matter of months, Daniel followed Carter back over to the good side of the gang wars. They’d been young, too young to be really apart of anything nefarious, which was why Benny gave them a chance. He helped set both boys on the right track. They stayed in school, Carter found a bigger appreciation for art and Daniel pushed all his energies into his passions. For Carter, leaving the “life of crime” behind wasn’t that big of a hardship. He’d never actually been affiliated with any gangs, he was just a tagger; a damn good one. And that was the reason for Benny to take it easy on the boy. He saw the potential, even if he didn’t get art himself. And so it was with this man’s help that Carter found himself accepted to the Brooklyn High school of the Arts and through that Parsons. He was incredibly lucky and well aware of that.
Fast forward and Carter could claim his BFA but he wanted more and two years later, he was walking away from Parsons with his Masters in Fine Arts and a world of possibilities. At eighteen, with the help of Benny during a summer between high school and university, Carter got some paintings in a gallery showing which caught the eye of a man who took Carter aside to talk to him about his work. It was good, that much was obvious but it was also obvious that Carter didn’t want to fall into some dead end job restoring paintings. So he made a deal with Benny’s friend; he would pay for Carter’s tuition so he could continue school and he would work for him. And that was how Carter found himself at Three Kings. First, he was an apprentice, then a full-fledged artist. Carter brought in enough clientele to pay off his tuition twice over but he felt like he would never be able to fully repay the man.
It was around the same time that Carter started at Parsons that Daniel chose to come out to his family and it really made Carter open his eyes about all the issues that his brother would face. They’d been inseparable since the second Danny was born and his little brother being interested in men wouldn’t stop that. And unlike Carter, Danny managed to have the same partner since he was sixteen! Carter liked Alexander. He was a great guy and he thought Danny was a lucky guy himself. Carter provided each with their tattoos, and helped in any way he could when the pair decided they were going to adopt a two month old baby. By the time all the paperwork went through, she was four months old and had all three men wrapped around her little fingers. Now she’s three and Carter spends quite a bit of his free time stealing her away from her father’s to teach her to draw. Not so secretly, he wants her to become an artist and is more than willing to help her with that, even if she is only three.
