PERSONALITY: For all his good, Henderson has a ton of bad to go along with it. He tries to get along with everyone, but life just doesn’t work that way and more often than not, he finds himself backtracking everything he’s said. Not one to step back from a fight, Henderson will go all the way to ending up in a hospital bed. His moral compass may not always point due North, but he tries his best to do the right thing. He’s had quite the arrogant personality most of his life and though he rarely showed it at home, outside the house, it was all anyone saw. But they also saw the model perfect good looks and thought they had him figured out. Underneath the asshole exterior lies a good man, though finding him is taking Henderson longer than he would like. He’s a good guy with the best of intentions, but the worst way of showing it all. Stubborn and a little hot tempered, Henderson will put up a damn good fight, especially when he’s passionate about something. Doesn’t catch his interest? Well, he won’t even bother opening his big mouth unless he’s had a few drinks, and then, even he doesn’t always know what he’s saying or what he’s about to get himself into. A bit of a womaniser, Henderson isn’t ashamed to say he’s gone from one bed to another, enjoying the company of women just a little too freely for some. He finds no shame in his actions, especially since he thinks there isn’t a woman out there who could either tame him or he feels is worth throwing out his old ways for. But despite all his ways, family is important to him though and he’ll do anything for his little sister and parents and those friends that have stuck by him through all his stupidity? Well, they’re the closest thing to family as you can get and he’ll treat them as such.

HISTORY: Alex and Vincent Mitchell weren’t your typical college sweethearts. Alex fought tooth and nail against everything Vince put in front of her having had a terrible childhood and being so set in the realities of the world that love or anything remotely close to it didn’t exist for Alex. She saw happy couples around her and thought, it won’t last the year. Her mother married and divorced 8 men; and that was only before Alex turned twelve. That didn’t even include the five more after that and the three since her eighteenth birthday. Her mother was a serial bride. All the men were nice and sweet and took care of them while they were around, but none had ever worked out. And only one had ever tried really hard to be her friend in the two years he’d stuck around. So when Alex ran as far away as she could from Miami for school, she had kept realistic goals in mind. She wasn’t going to be one for a long, stable relationship and spent the first year or two parading around like a slutty college kid. And then she met Vince. He was sweet, genuine and as gorgeous as a Greek god. And he was really into Alex. But she turned down every advance aside from becoming friends with benefits; it was all she was willing to give him.
And after college, they went their separate ways but Vince never forgot. Alex was a constant on his mind for nearly a year after college and he went looking. Alex, who hadn’t forgotten him either, had a surprise waiting when he showed up. She had been two months pregnant at the time they graduated and hadn’t known until well after school had finished and they’d parted ways. Alex wasn’t the type to ask for help and hadn’t even known how to get in contact with Vince; because the little boy she held in her arms when he knocked on her door was indeed his. He had been the only one she’d been sleeping with at the time; it was no one else and the baby was the spitting image of Vince at the same age. Vince, being the man he was, wanted to do things right. He wanted to provide for them, take care of them and being with them both, watch his son grow up. Alex told him she didn’t need his help but he was hearing none of it and after six months of Vince relentlessly keeping at Alex for it, they got married. A small ceremony with a justice of the peace and that was it.
She had named their boy Henderson simply because she’d liked the name and Vincent for his father. Through his childhood, they were the young family on the block and all the older women were always about, offering casseroles and their time to babysit and allow the young parents to have date night and the like. Alex, having realised what she’d felt for Vince took them up on their offers; always. And when Henderson was four, they gave him a little sister. She was sweet and innocent and for a long time they were the cutest little family. Henderson took up lacrosse at a young age because his father had played as a young boy and he enjoyed the sport, how rough it was and how exciting it was to score a goal. When Henderson was sixteen and his sister, twelve, Holly found herself in a bad group of friends, which brought their happy family ideals crashing down around them. Everything was a fight with the preteen. And the only one she would talk to was Henderson, and he always made time for his sister. But there wasn’t much he could say when it came to all of that. He’d had his sports friends and the worst thing they’d done hadn’t been until this past summer when they’d thrown that huge party out by the lake. Fast forward a couple years for a minute and Holly’s life continued to spiral, especially because her brother had run off to college.
Henderson had the classic, chiselled good looks any male model would dream of; while he couldn’t stand them. He had everything handed to him as a small child because of that all too innocent smile of his. And he never went a day without hearing how he'd grow up to be a heart breaker and leave a trail of women mooning after him long after he'd gone. As a young boy, he'd thought that was pretty cool, as a teenager and having every girl at the school trying to be his next girlfriend was pretty fun; after all, he had the pick of the fair sized school. He wasn’t about to lie, it was a good feeling having all those women trying to get his attention. But they didn’t want him for his personality which, in all honesty wasn’t the greatest by then since he’d developed such a big head about himself. It wasn’t until his first year in university that he really started getting bad about it all. Coming from a small college town in Northern California, he hadn’t known big city life at all, despite there being seven thousand plus people in residence. He moved to San Francisco for university and didn’t last the first year. Just about halfway through the second semester, Henderson got into a fight because of his cocky attitude about life. That fight landed him in a hospital bed, nursing a couple pretty wicked stab wounds. He went home to fully recover, finishing off the year via online classes. He had every intention of showing those idiots that he wasn’t afraid but his parents had other plans.
Now though, he’d realised the whole fight had really been his doing and has since been trying to change his ways. He wants to be the good guy, not the evil villain but too often he catches himself saying the wrong thing, doing the wrong thing and having to take a step back. Henderson waited a year to go back to school, trying to figure out where he would try next and to be there for his sister. He went to work again at the small candy store his mother owned and operated with only one other employee and tried his best to be the good guy again. It was difficult, but he made things work. And when he was twenty, he decided it was time to go back to school. He enrolled to NYU, found a hole in the wall apartment to call his very own, because he was not getting stuck in a dorm again; not after the last incident. It was a terrible place, and he didn’t want his family to know just how bad it was so he made it seem like it was a nice one, with friendly enough neighbours and the whole bit. Whenever they wanted to visit, he would tell them it was a bad time with school or work had him doing double shifts to cover people. And for a while it worked. But he knew it wouldn’t have lasted forever and after agreeing with a close friend he’d made his first day at NYU, the pair pushed together enough money to get a place. It wasn’t much better but the rent was fixed and they wouldn’t be paying more than what they were ever. At least it was in a better neighbourhood, with families everywhere and things were looking up. Now going into his senior year, Henderson is just trying to get through the year in one piece and find something that will have things for him looking up even more.
