PERSONALITY: Eisley is a smart guy but lacks the average set of people skills. He's polite enough but just as uninterested in what most people have to say. There's a chance he's ADD or perhaps Autistic but as he's never been tested, he doesn't know for certain. Eisley prefers the company of the lab and all the glass tubes and beakers to other people but he's warming to having more of the latter in his life these days. It's been a slow process but he's getting there. Eisley thinks he's just a bit shy because his parents were always telling him what to do, what to say and how to act. He's never really figured out how to be himself. So, now he's trying to understand who he is in the grand scheme of things and so far, he'd like to think he's doing alright. Girls are still a foreign concept for him but with time, and help, he's hoping to remedy that situation, too.

HISTORY: Sciences always came easily to Eisley. Often times, he preferred having his nose in the latest science journal over talking to the people around him. He was brilliant with the science but the English and well, everything else seemed to fail him. It was the only reason he was forced to stick through the education system as it was. If only he'd been able to figure out the English language as easily as he could figure out biology. For this reason, Eisley had a tough time growing up. He wasn't like the other kids, but they couldn't figure out why he was different, so they just teased him about everything. He never really let it get to him, seemingly understanding that those kids picked on him because he was different. Most of his teachers couldn't have cared less if he was in their class, barely enjoyed teaching from what he could see but Martha and Jamie hired tutors to get their son through the difficult classes he required.
It was always the same, year after year. Brilliant science whiz, subpar English skills and nonexistent social skills; unless he was talking science, anyway. He won science fair after science fair and eventually managed to graduate from high school with what was required from him in order to get into university. He wanted to aim high, oxford, MIT, somewhere that was as far away from his hometown as possible, to get away from the bullies and his childhood but his parents wanted him to stick close to home for his first venture into the "real world". So, he stuck around New York and surprisingly, started to enjoy the city he'd never really knew. Over the course of his university career in New York, Eisley managed to figure out his people skills and even made friends! It was a miracle for his parents, who had previously had concerns that there was "something wrong" with their child. There is a major possibility that he's autistic, but they'd never had him tested for fear that this would be proven true. They decided it was easier for him to be "quirky" than for him to have a genuinely diagnosed difference about him.
Life moved on and Eisley got himself a job at the quirky bookstore in the neighbourhood. Campbell didn't talk to him like he was strange, and she let him study while he was manning the desk, so he enjoyed his time there. He stopped to help people when they had questions and helped them through the stacks of books, they had available, looking for that perfect next read. While he wasn't always right, like Campbell was, he tried his best and he did eventually get better at offering more options. Campbell was actually the one to suggest he try his hand at baking in his spare time and offered to be his guinea pig for whatever he made. Some recipes weren't so great but so many more he hit right out of the park. It wasn't what he wanted to do with the rest of his life, but it was definitely something he could fall back on and it definitely helped him when he was feeling stressed. While Eisley is still only a junior at his first school, he feels like there's a lot ahead of him, he just needs to chase after it.
