FEARS: losing his business, never being enough for someone special, heights
SECRETS: He's afraid of rabbits. He was bitten by his sister's pet and freaked out about it. It's stupid, irrational and ridiculous so he doesn't talk about it.
PERSONALITY: Victor is both a bit of a flake and a brilliant CEO. He's probably too laidback for his position but he's also felt like by now, he's proven himself worthy of the position he'd inherited. Haart Toys was a family business that had grown to be something huge and Victor is very proud of that fact and his part in it. He was never and would never be that cut-throat CEO, he's far too laidback for that but he felt he was tough but fair with his employees. He may spend a lot of time at the office, perhaps a bit of a workaholic but he tries very hard to be equally charitable with his time and money. As much as he relies on his assistant, he is actually self-reliant, though he does rely on his assistant to be the heavy hand he can't always be at work. He's a bit of a wandering soul and enjoys traveling for both work and pleasure. He would like a bit of romance in his life, he's a genuinely good person and would treat the woman in his life with great care but because of his hectic work life, he's not had the chance to find that special someone to share his life with.MOTHER: Meredith Haartman & sixty.

HISTORY: Richard and Meredith met while they were both in University at a student function and hit it off really well. She didn't know he was the heir of a toy company and when she did finally find out, she didn't care. At that point, she'd fallen for the sweet man he was and not the zeros in his bank account. They married shortly after graduating and had their son, Victor after a few years of marital bliss. He was a precocious boy who loved going into work with his father. He loved being able to be one of the first kids to play with the prototypes and new toys. As he grew older, he knew that he wanted to carry on the family business and worked hard at being able to do that. He studied hard all through school while still attempting to maintain friendships and play sports. He hated to put a label on his popularity because for the most part, he wasn't even sure if people liked him for who he was or what he stood to inherit and it sucked. But, he also refused to let it define him. He was so many more things than his money and he knew it. He was smart and quick with a comeback, loved to kick around a ball or shoot hoops whenever possible. He knew people were terrible, even at a young age, and promised himself that he would always be there for his sister whenever the things that happened to him, started happening to her. They were close, despite the small age gap so he wanted to be there for her if something ever happened.
She didn't have the same issues with friends at school, or if she did, she didn't talk to him about it which was alright. They each had their own lives and after her freshman year, he was at NYU and spending more time at the office, trying to learn the ropes. Victor still managed to keep up a decent social life through his university experience and while he thought he'd met the one, he quickly found out he was more like a hundred and one for her. It was the one deviation from his school experience to his parents; they found each other. Marcie had gotten the college life that Victor had secretly been wanting when she met her husband at Freshman orientation. He'd been one of the people doing the tours and hadn't been able to take his eyes off of her. She always said it was love at first sight and Victor was mildly jealous of that. He was still young and knew things happened on their own time. He thought he would work his way through each department so he knew the inner workings and eventually he would find someone to share his life with.
At Victor's twenty-fourth birthday, Richard surprised his son with the news that he was going to take a step back from his responsibilities as CEO of the company. Victor had been proving himself for years, meeting each challenge sent his way head-on and relentlessly worked on the problem until he found the solution. Richard and Meredith had been wanting to spend more time traveling and actually seeing the world. She had been taking on fewer patients over the last few years and knew it was time to really step back and let the doctor's she trained to take over. Over the course of four months, Victor made the appropriate changes and hired on his own personal staff with suggestions and recommendations from his previous professors. One girl stood out above the rest and after her interview, he offered her the job. She needed to start the Monday following exam week and work through the summer. He had told Hartley that her position would most likely be temporary because she was still a student but she'd run his life so efficiently during those months that he agreed to work with her schedule and keep her on. He didn't need her at the office full time and as long as she kept his appointment book up to date, that would be sufficient enough. She went above and beyond and pretty much anything she asked for to make her work easier, he provided for her. Harley was a Godsend and now, after all these years, he honestly doesn't know what he'd do without her. He's genuinely dreading the day she says she's done scheduling his life and wants on of her own; though he is well aware, with her degrees, she could run half a dozen of the company departments and thrive, which is the offer he'd make if the day ever comes. She's made his life so much easier that lately, his thoughts have been circling back to find a little romance in his life. Hell, half the time he drags Hartley along for events because he knows how much she loves a fancy party.
