Kimmie Olivia BlockNo baby this is not an illusion You really got me lifted on my feet! With it being a Saturday morning, Kimmie had no classes she had to go to and she didn't have work until later in the day, so she had several hours to herself. And nothing to do. She had made sure her dog and cat would taken care of, eaten and then did some tidy up. But by the time she was done all that, it was only a little after ten. Sighing, Kimmie walked over to her bedroom window and looked outside. For being early February, the weather was nice and the sun was shining brightly. Kimmie hoped the snow would go soon. As she continued staring out the window, an idea came to Kimmie. Turning away from the window, she had her way to her phone, sending a text to a friend of hers.
Hey, Ashton! I'm gonna head to the zoo. Wanna came with? Then Kimmie sent the text and while she waited for Ashton's reply, she got ready. If even Ashton didn't want to go, Kimmie still did. Kimmie had met Ashton a few weeks ago, and so far she liked him. He was fun to hang out with. Kimmie was just finishing her hair when she heard her phone go off, telling her she had a text. Smiling, she rushed over to her phone and looked to see how Ashton replied. She hoped he wanted to go to the zoo with her.

Lately they had been adjusting Ashton's medication, which had been making him feel pretty cruddy. Luckily for Ashton, he could take time off work. His boss understood his situation and treated him with compassion and respect. Ashton had been super thankful to find a job with such an understanding boss. He was thankful that he could live life and have a somewhat normal life with his family. He was the most thankful that he could see his little sister grow up now. Back when he was younger, they never thought he would make it past high school, yet he kept defying the odds that were stacked against him. Once they came out with a pretty solid breakthrough, he felt like a million pounds had been lifted off his shoulder. He knew that he would still be sick his entire life, but the difference was that he could actually have a life and a future. He didn't have to go to bed wondering if tonight was going to be the night he died or if he would wake up in the morning. So when he had the good news, he had gone out and gotten a job. He had no idea what he wanted to do with his life, but he was on a mission to find it out now that he had the time and energy to do so. Sadly, when they switched his medication, it made him feel sick and throw up a lot. He stopped eating for about a solid week, which made the already skinny boy lose weight. He looked sickly now, and there was no hiding the fact that he had been sick. The past week, all he had been doing was strumming his guitar, puking, singing, and hanging out with Bee. She had taken the week off school to be with her brother. She had made him peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches for breakfast and lunch (which he couldn't keep down), and she had played nurse with him, taking his temperature and forcing him to keep his fluid intake up. Ashton couldn't help but humor the seven year old. He thought what she was doing was the sweetest thing in the world. He loved how sweet she was, and he couldn't wait to see who she grew up to become. Today, though, Bee had to go to school. Their parents made her, and Ashton understood completely. He knew she needed her education and her friends. He was fine on his own at home. He had been getting stronger, and he hadn't been sick in two days. He had been living off crackers and ginger ale for the past week, so he decided to go down to the kitchen and whip up something. He decided on some chicken noodle soup from the can, and he dumped it in a bowl, shoving it in the microwave, pressing buttons to make it heat up. While he was doing that, he felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket. He looked at it, a giant smile coming across his pale face. It was Kimmie. She was a girl he had met a few weeks back, and they had been talking constantly since then. He thought she was wonderful, and she even inspired some of the songs he had hummed around the house. He knew he never had a chance with her, but there was no harm in being her friend instead. He told her that he would love to meet her there, and that he would be there in an hour. He left the soup in the microwave, and he darted upstairs, jumping in the shower and getting dressed. He bundled up, knowing his body wouldn't deal with the cold as well as it usually did since he had been pretty sick the past week. He put the soup in a to-go cup, and he grab a plastic spoon before leaving the house. He walked to the zoo, taking sips of the hot broth as he did so. When he arrived, he didn't see the blonde yet, so he stood beside the ticket booth, eating his soup. ************************************************************************** For: @kimmieoliviablock Outfit: CLickWords: 687 Notes: I love Ashton. He's such a romantic, btw. So I was listening to Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop. <3
